Abstract

Abstract: Evaluative Studies of Project-Based Mathematical Learning: Reviewed from National Standard for Education Process in Indonesia. Objectives: To describe the effectiveness of the implementation of project-based learning in junior high school mathematics learning in terms of process standards. Methods: This study adopted the CIPP evaluation model with state junior high school mathematics teachers as respondents.The analysis technique refers to the calculation of the T score in consultation with the Glickman quadrant prototype. Findings: T score for each variable, namely CIPP (+ - + +) with a comparison for the Context variable: F+ (71.43%) and F- (28.57); Inputs: F+ (28.57%) and F- (71.43%); Process: F+ (71.43%) and F- (28.57%), Product: F+ (71.43%) and F- (28.57%) with quite effective category. Conclusion: Project-based mathematics learning in terms of process standards is quite effective, and can be recommended to improve the quality of mathematics learning.Keywords: evaluation of mathematical learning, project-based learning, process standardsAbstrak: Studi Evaluatif Pelaksanaan Pembelajaran Matematika Berbasis Projek: Ditinjau dari Standar Nasional untuk Proses Pendidikan di Indonesia. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan efektifitas penerapan pembelajaran berbasis projek pada pembelajaran matematika SMP ditinjau dari standar proses. Metode: Penelitian ini adalah studi evaluasi yang mengadopsi model evaluasi CIPP dengan responden guru matematika SMP negeri. Teknik analisis mengacu perhitungan skor T yang dikonsultasikan dengan prototipe kuadran Glickman. Temuan: Skor T untuk setiap variabel, yaitu CIPP (+ - + +) dengan perbandingan untuk variabel Context: F+ (71,43%) dan F- (28,57); Input: F+ (28,57%) dan F- (71,43%); Process: F+ (71,43%) dan F- (28,57%), Product: F+ (71,43%) dan F- (28,57%) dengan kategori cukup efektif. Abstract

Abstract: Implementation and Strengthening of Visible Learning for Elementary School Students in Indonesia. Objectives: The purpose of this study is to describe the strengthening of visible learning in basic education students. Methods: This research uses mixed methods, namely quantitative and qualitative methods. The participants were elementary and junior high school teachers in Sanggau Regency, West Kalimantan Province with a total sample of 50 teachers. Data collection techniques using questionnaires and interviews. Analysis of the data using correlation analysis techniques Moment Product and t-test. Findings: The results of the study found that the implementation of six variables, four variables in the very good category and two in the good category. The relationship between variables between r values of 0.470 to 0.808 shows a strong and positive relationship. Interest analysis shows that the overall value of the variables is very important, and the variables that need strengthening are the variables of students, homes and teaching approaches. Conclusion: The implementation of visible learning factors for elementary education students has been implemented well and very well.Keywords: visible learning, elemenetary school students, mixed method.Abstrak: Implementasi dan Penguatan Pembelajaran Visibel Pada Peserta Didik Sekolah Dasar di Indonesia. Tujuan: Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mendeskripsikan penguatan pembelajaran visibel pada peserta didik pendidikan dasar. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan metode campuran yaitu metode kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Partisipan merupakan guru-guru SD dan SMP di Kabupaten Sanggau Provinsi Kalimantan Barat dengan jumlah sampel sebanyak 50 guru. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan angket dan wawancara. Analisis data menggunakan teknik analisis Korelasi Produk Moment dan Uji-t. Temuan: Hasil penelitian menemukan bahwa implementasi dari enam variabel, empat variabel berkategori sangat baik dan dua berkategori baik. Hubungan antar variabel antara nilai r 0,470 sampai 0,808 menunjukkan hubungan yang kuat dan positif. Analisis kepentingan menunjukkan nilai keseluruhan variabel sangat penting, dan variabel yang perlu penguatan yaitu variabel peserta didik, rumah dan pendekatan pengajaran. Kesimpulan: Implementasi faktor-faktor pembelajaran visibel pada peserta didik Pendidikan Dasar sudah diimplementasikan dengan baik dan sangat baik.Kata kunci: pembelajaran visibel, siswa sekolah dasar, metode campuran.DOI: http:dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v11.i2.202101

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect of Problem Based Learning model in improving students critical thinking skills. Samples were VIIA and VIIC grade students of SMPN 22 Bandar Lampung selected by purposive sampling. The research design was pretest-posttest not equivalent. The quantitative data were in the form of students critical thinking skills measured by written test obtained from the pretest and posttest and analyzed using t test with significance level of 5%. Learning activity data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that N-gain of experimental class students (0.77) and differed significantly higher than the control group (0.57). Activities of students in the experimental class (83,25%) higher than the control class (66,04%). It can be concluded that Problem Based Learning model can improve critical thinking skills and student learning activities.Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model Problem Based Learning dalam meningkatkan keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa. Sampel penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIIA dan VIIC SMPN 22 Bandar Lampung yang dipilih secara purposive sampling. Desain penelitian ini adalah pretest-posttest tak ekuivalen. Data kuantitatif berupa keterampilan berpikir kritis siswa diukur dengan tes tertulisyang diperoleh dari hasil pretest dan posttest dandianalisis menggunakan uji t dengan taraf signifikansi 5%. Data aktivitas belajar dianalisis secara deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan N-gain siswa kelas eksperimen (0,77) lebih tinggi dan berbeda signifikan dibanding kelas kontrol (0,57). Aktivitas belajar siswa pada kelas eksperimen (83,25%) lebih tinggi dibanding kelas kontrol (66,04%). Dapat disimpulkan bahwa modelProblem Based Learning berpengaruh secara signifikan terhadap peningkatan keterampilan berpikir kritisdan aktivitas belajar siswa.Kata kunci: problem based learning, keterampilan berpikir kritis, aktivitas belajar

Abstract

Issues examined in this study is whether learning by using multiple representations model (SiMaYang) more effective in build mental models than conventional learning? The design of this study is a pretest and posttest control group design. The research sample taken randomly by stratified random sampling technique to obtain the experimental and control classes. The results of the research show that (1) SiMaYang learning model more effective in building student mental models compared to learning model that has been used by basic chemistry lecturers. (2) Implementation of SiMaYang learning model was able to build student mental models in learning of stoikiormetry topic. (3) After the implementation of SiMaYang model, student mental models on the topic of stoichiometry formed by the categories of "good" and "very good", with the characteristics of "consensus" and "target". Findings indicated thatmacro-sumiglcro-symbolic teaching by used SiMaYang model could be enhancing student mental models and learning effectivity of chemical reactions. Implications for instruction are clearly addressed in the discussion and recommended that SiMaYang learning model can be used as an alternative model of effective and efficient learning in developing a high level of understanding.Isu yang dianalisis pada penelitian ini adalah apakah belajar menggunakan model multipel representasi (disebut SiMaYang) lebih efektif dalam membangun mental model dari belajar secara konvensional? Desain penelitian ini adalah pretest dan posttest kelompok kontrol. Sampel penelitian diambil secara acak dengan teknik sampling acak bertingkat untuk mendapatkan kelas kontrol dan kelas eksperimen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) model pembelajaran SiMaYang lebih efektif dalam membangun model mental mahasiswa dibandingkan model pembelajaran yang telah digunakan dosen kimia dasar. (2) implementasi model pembelajaran SiMaYang dapat membangun model mental mahasiswa dalam belajar topik stoikiometri. (3) setelah implementasi model SiMaYang, model mental mahasiswa pada topik stoikiometri terbentuk pada kategori baik dan sangat baik, dengan karakteristik konsensus dan target. Temuan mengindikasikan bahwa pengajaran macro-sumiglcro-symbolic menggunakan model SiMaYang dapat meningkatkan model mental mahasiswa dan efektivitas reaksi kimia. Implikasi petunjuk secara jelas dibahas pada diskusi dan direkomendasikan bahwa model pembelajaran SiMaYang dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif model pembelajaran yang efektif dan efisien dalam mengembangkan tingkat pemahaman yang tinggi.Kata kunci: model mental, representasi multipel, SiMaYang

Abstract

Abstract: Development and Implementation of Learning Videos in Health, Sport, Physical Education to Improve Learning Interest and Perseverance Character of High School Students. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of student responses on learning videos of health, sport, and physical education on interest in learning and character of perseverance.Methods: This type of research is development research, with the ADDIE model.The sampling technique used is random sampling. The data analysis technique is in the form of quantitative data analysis with associative and comparative types. Findings: the results of the regression test obtained a significance value of less than 0.05 Conclusion: The research can be concluded that there is an effect of student responses on learning videos of health, sport, and physical education on interest in learning and character of perseverance. Abstrak: Pengembangan dan Implementasi Video Pembelajaran Kesehatan, Olahraga, Pendidikan Jasmani untuk Meningkatkan Karakter Minat dan Ketekunan Belajar Siswa SMA. Tujuan: Tujuan dilakukannya penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui pengaruh respon siswa pada video pembelajaran Pendidikan jasmani olahraga dan kesehatanterhadap minat belajar dan karakter ketekunan. Metode: Jenis penelitian ini yaitu penelitian pengembangan, dengan model ADDIE. Teknik pengambilan sampel yang digunakan berupa random sampling. Teknik analisis data berupa analisis data kuantitatif dengan jenis asosiatif dan komparatif. Temuan: hasil uji regresididapatkan nilai signifikansi kurang dari 0,05 Kesimpulan: Penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwasannya terdapat pengaruh respon siswa pada video pembelajaran Pendidikan jasmani olahraga dan Kesehatan terhadap minat belajar dan karakter ketekunan. Abstract

Abstract: Analysis on Geometry Mathematics Textbooks for Grade 5 of Elementary Schools in Malaysia, China, and Indonesia. Objectives: This research analyzes the differences in the geometry material presented to grade 5 students of elementary schools and determines the characteristics of the questions in mathematics textbooks. Methods: The content analysis compared the geometry materials in the best mathematics textbooks widely used in grade 5 of elementary schools in Indonesia, Malaysia, and China. The analysis discussed several important points on geometry material, including sub-chapter, chapter content, and the presentation of practice questions. Findings: The results show that 66.36% of questions in the Indonesian textbook asked about knowing, 24.54% applying, and 0.09% reasoning. In the Malaysian textbook, 71.42% of questions asked focused knowing, 23.8% applying, and 4.76% reasoning. Furthermore, 49.6% of questions in the Chinese textbooks asked about knowing, 30.4% applying, and 20% reasoning. Conclusions: questions on knowing had the highest percentage in the Indonesian and Malaysian textbooks but balanced in Chinese.Keywords: mathematics textbook, geometry, Indonesian, Malaysian, China.Abstrak: Analisis Buku Ajar Matematika Geometri Kelas 5 SD di Indonesia, Malaysia dan China. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis perbedaan materi geometri yang disajikan kepada siswa kelas 5 SD dan menentukan karakteristik soal pada buku teks matematika. Metode: Analisis isi membandingkan materi geometri dalam buku teks matematika terbaik yang banyak digunakan di kelas 5 sekolah dasar di Indonesia, Malaysia, dan Cina. Analisis membahas beberapa poin penting pada materi geometri, antara lain sub bab, isi bab, dan penyajian soal latihan. Temuan: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 66,36% pertanyaan dalam buku teks bahasa Indonesia menanyakan tentang mengetahui, 24,54% menerapkan, dan 0,09% penalaran. Dalam buku teks Malaysia, 71,42% pertanyaan yang diajukan terfokus mengetahui, 23,8% menerapkan, dan 4,76% penalaran. Selanjutnya, 49,6% pertanyaan dalam buku teks bahasa Mandarin menanyakan tentang mengetahui, 30,4% menerapkan, dan 20% penalaran. Abstract

Abstract: Using 5E learning cycle-based laboratory activity in improving students’ problem solving skills on mixture separation topic. Objectives: The aim of this study was to describe the effectivity of laboratory activity on mixture separation topic based on 5E Learning Cycle to improve students’ problem solving skills. Methods: This quasi-experimental study was carried out in the SMPN 33 Bandar Lampung by using the matching only pretest-posttest control group design. The 7th-D and the 7th-E grade were used as experimental and control classes, respectively, which they were obtained by using purposive sampling technique. Findings: The effectivity of 5E Learning Cycle-based laboratory activity measured based on the n-gainand the effect size values. The n-gain value of experimental and control classes were in medium (0.52) and low (0.29) categorized, respectively.  The effect size value was in large categorized (0.67). Conclusion: These results indicated that5E  Learning Cycle-based laboratory activity could be effective toimprovestudents’ problem solving skills to separate of mixture.Keywords: Problem solving skills, laboratory activity, 5E Learning Cycle. Abstrak: Menggunakan aktivitas laboratorium berbasis siklus belajar 5E dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa pada topik pemisahan campuran. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan efektivitas aktivitas laboratorium berbasis Learning Cycle 5E pada materi Pemisahan Campuran dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa. Metode: Penelitian ini merupakan kuasi eksperimen yang telah dilaksanakan di SMPN 33 Bandar Lampung dengan menggunakan desain the matching only pretest-posttest control group.Dengan teknik purposive sampling diperoleh kelas 7D dan 7E sebagai kelas eksperimen dan kontrol. Temuan: Efektivitas aktivitas laboratorium berbasis Learning Cycle 5E diukur berdasarkan nilai n-gain dan ukuran dampak.Nilai n-gain di kelas eksperimen berkategori sedang (0,52) dan di kelas kontrol berkategori rendah (0,29). Nilai ukuran dampak berada dalam kategori besar(0,67). Kesimpulan: Hasil tersebut mengindikasikan bahwa aktivitas laboratorium berbasis Learning Cycle 5E efektif dalam meningkatkan keterampilan pemecahan masalah siswa dalam pemisahan campuran.Kata kunci: Keterampilan pemecahan masalah, aktivitas aboratorium, Learning Cycle 5E.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v9.i2.201922

Abstract

Abstract: Linking Personality to Lecturers’ Employability and Affective Commitment. Objectives: This study explores the effect of personality on employability and lecturers’ affective commitment, and how employability mediating personality affects affective commitment. Methods: A questionnaire collected data through the survey methods toward 230 lecturers in Indonesia spread across four provinces: Jakarta, Banten, West Java, and Central Java. Data analysis uses path analysis supported by descriptive statistics and correlational. Findings: The results show that personality had a significant direct effect on affective commitment, employability had a significant direct effect on affective commitment, personality had a significant direct effect on employability, and personality had a significant indirect effect on affective commitment mediated by employability. Conclusion: A new model regarding the effect of personality on lecturers’ affective commitment, mediated by employability, was confirmed. Thus, the researchers and practitioners can adopt or adapt a new empirical model to increase teachers’ affective commitment through personality and employability in the future, various filed and contexts.Keywords: personality, employability, affective commitment, lecturer.Abstrak: Menghubungkan Kepribadian dengan Kemampuan Kerja dan Komitmen Afektif Dosen. Tujuan: Penelitian ini mengeksplorasi pengaruh kepribadian terhadap kemampuan kerja dan komitmen afektif dosen. Metode: Pengumpulan data menggunakan kuesioner melalui survei terhadap 230 dosen di Indonesia yang diambil dari empat provinsi, yaitu Jakarta, Jawa Barat, Banten, dan Jawa Tengah. Analisis data menggunakan analisis jalur yang didukung oleh statistik deskriptif dan korelasional. Temuan: Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kepribadian berpengaruh langsung signifikan terhadap komitmen afektif, kemampuan kerja berpengaruh langsung signifikan terhadap komitmen afektif, kepribadian berpengaruh langsung signifikan terhadap kemampuan kerja, dan kepribadian berpengaruh tidak langsung langsung signifikan terhadap komitmen afektif dengan mediasi kemampuan kerja. Kesimpulan: Model baru mengenai pengaruh kepribadian terhadap komitmen afektif dosen, yang dimediasi oleh kelayakan kerja, terkonfirmasi. Dengan demikian, para peneliti dan praktisi dapat mengadopsi atau mengadaptasi model empiris baru untuk meningkatkan komitmen afektif guru melalui kepribadian dan kemampuan kerja di masa depan, berbagai bidang dan konteks.Kata kunci: kepribadian, kemampuan kerja, komitmen afektif, dosen.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v12.i2.202221

Abstract

Abstract: Modelling the Influence of Bridging Course on the Accounting Performance of the University Students Using Educational Data Mining. Objectives: This study intends to determine the level of performance of the students in their Bridging Course (BC) and Accounting Education (AE) courses, and to model their significant influence. Methods: Descriptive and Predictive Correlation research design was used. The Educational Data Mining technique was utilized to extract data from the database of the university. Out of 331 datasets extracted, only 281 were included in the analysis, where datasets with no grades, and with dropped marks were excluded. The datasets are the grades of the students enrolled in BC and AE 113 and 114 for the school year, 2018–2019 and 2019–2020. Findings: Results showed a very good rating of the student’s performance in all courses both bridging course and accounting education courses where it revealed a positive and linear relationship. Moreover, the model shows that an increase in the performance in the BC is an increase also in their performance in their AE courses. Conclusion: The study proved that the curriculum is serving its purpose in rendering the highest possible opportunity for students to learn basic and even advanced accounting education.Keywords: accounting performance, bridging course, educational data mining, modelling.Abstrak: Pemodelan Pengaruh Bridging Course Terhadap Kinerja Akuntansi Mahasiswa Menggunakan Educational Data Mining. Tujuan: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tingkat kinerja mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Bridging Course (BC) dan Accounting Education (AE), serta memodelkan pengaruh signifikan mereka. Metode: Desain penelitian yang digunakan adalah Deskriptif dan Korelasi Prediktif. Teknik Educational Data Mining digunakan untuk mengekstrak data dari database universitas. Dari 331 kumpulan data yang diekstraksi, hanya 281 yang dimasukkan dalam analisis, di mana kumpulan data tanpa nilai, dan dengan nilai yang dihapus dikeluarkan. Dataset adalah nilai siswa yang terdaftar di BC dan AE 113 dan 114 untuk tahun ajaran 2018–2019 dan 2019–2020. Temuan: Hasil menunjukkan penilaian kinerja siswa yang sangat baik di semua mata kuliah baik mata kuliah bridging maupun pendidikan akuntansi kursus di mana ia mengungkapkan hubungan positif dan linier. Selain itu, model menunjukkan bahwa peningkatan kinerja di BC adalah peningkatan juga dalam kinerja mereka dalam kursus AE mereka. Kesimpulan: Studi ini membuktikan bahwa kurikulum melayani tujuannya dalam memberikan kesempatan setinggi mungkin bagi siswa untuk belajar pendidikan akuntansi dasar dan bahkan lanjutan.Kata kunci: kinerja akuntansi, bridging course, educational data mining, pemodelan.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v11.i3.202103

Abstract

This quasi-experimental research aimed to understand the effectiveness of guided-inquiry based practical manual for improving students’ activity and concept mastery of science. Sixty students from SMP Negeri 1 Natar were selected as research samples in this study. This research used two types of data that is quantitative data (pretest, postest, and n-gain) and qualitative data (learning observation and student activity). The results showed that high n-gain score (0.70) for both experimental class 1 and 2. In addition, the assessment of student activity in experimental classes 1 and 2 is also quite good with the score is 86.44% and 85.84%, respectively. Therefore, the use of guided inquiry based practical manuals is highly recommended to improve students’ learning activities and mastery of the science concept.Keywords: Practical manual, guided inquiry, students’ activity, science concept mastery. Penelitian kuasi eksperimen ini bertujuan mengetahui keefektifan penggunaan buku petunjuk praktikum berbasis inkuiri terbimbing dalam meningkatkan penguasaan konsep IPA. Sebanyak 60 orang siswa SMP Negeri 1 Natar terpilih secara random sebagai sampel pada penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan 2 tipe data yaitu data kuantitatif (pretes, postes, dan n-gain) dan data kualitatif (observasi keterlaksanaan pembelajaran dan aktivitas siswa). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perolehan n-gain yang cukup tinggi pada kelas eksperimen 1 dan 2 yaitu 0,70. Disamping itu, penilaian aktivitas siswa pada kelas eksperimen 1 dan 2 juga cukup baik dengan perolehan nilai berturut-turut adalah 86,44% dan 85,84%. Oleh karenya, penggunaan buku petunjuk praktikum berbasis inkuiri terbimbing sebagai suplemen belajar siswa sangat dianjurkan untuk dapat meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan konsep IPA.Kata Kunci: Buku petunjuk praktikum, inkuiri terbimbing, aktivitas siswa, penguasaan konsep sains. DOI:  http://dx.doi.org/10.23960/jpp.v8.i1.201801
