Abstract

ABSTRACTAcquiring the ability to express ideas in English is one of the expectations of students in learning English both orally and in written form. As speaking and writing are productive skills, English learners must have sufficient opportunity to practice using the target language, in thiscase English. To improve students’ speaking skills in particular, teacher must apply interesting and effective techniques so that students will enjoy the teaching learning process, and at the same time improve the ability to speak English. For that purpose, Reciprocal Teaching is an alternative technique which is very promising to increase Student-Talking Time. Through the activities using this particular technique, students are equipped with the strategies and materials to talk about. As such, theywill have more chance to speak in English.Key words: Reciprocal teaching, student-talking time, technique, increase
