<![CDATA[AbstractThe objectives of this research were to describe the types of error made by the students in making Active to Passive sentence and to know the proportion of the errors made by students. In this research, the types of studentsâ errors were classified by Surface Strategy Taxonomy. The subject of this research was the twelfth class of the first semester of SMK Bina Latih Karya Bandar Lampung in 2011-2012 which consisted of 34 students. In conducting the research, the writer used descriptive method. For collecting data, the writer employed test consisting of 20 items in changing Active to Passive Voice. The writer distributed the test to the students after remind the students about Passive Voice. Many students made errors in transforming Active to Passive Voice, the result of this research showed that the highest number was 97 errors ( 14.264% ) for misformation and the lowest number was 62 errors ( 9.117% ) for addition. While the other type errors were 90 errors ( 13.235% ) for omission and 88 errors (12.941%) for misordering errors. In this case the students were low in determining the verb to be and changing verb to past participle.Key Words: Grammatical Errors, Passive and Active Voices]]>
