Abstract

In general, blood glucose level test is conducted using urine and glucometer test by pricking the fingertips of the patients using needle. TGS 822 and MQ 138 gas sensor systems can be used to detect Acetone and Alcohol compounds from the oral cavities of a person which are correlated with blood glucose levels in the body. This study used MQ 138 and TGS 822 gas sensors to detect acetone levels, which were classified using backpropagation artificial neural network. The training with 60 samples and testing on 7 respondents indicates that TGS 822 and MQ 138 gas sensor could detect the blood glucose level with average detection accuracy of 96,53% by considering the temperature and humidity.  The average deviation is 3,47 % compared to glucometer.
