Abstract

The purpose of this research is to exploit the application of multicultural values based on Islamic character in the programs and learning activities at SMP IT Ad-Durrah Medan Marelan. This study uses qualitative research that comes from primary data and secondary data. Primary data was obtained from the results of interviews and observations on key persons consisting of school principals, teachers and students. The data analysis technique used is through data reduction, data presentation which is then drawn conclusions. Based on the research conducted, it was found that in the learning activities it was found that the implementation of instilling multicultural values carried out by the teacher was also based on the cultivation of Islamic characters. The implementation of the application program can be seen from the implementation of activities such as intra-curricular activities, extra-curricular activities, and other activities outside of learning. Meanwhile the implementation of daily learning is carried out using role play learning methods, discussions, giving examples, lectures, and observations. AbstrakTujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengeksplorasi penerapan nilai-nilai multikultural berbasis karakter Islam yang ada dalam program dan kegiatan pembelajaran di SMP IT Ad-Durrah Medan Marelan. Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian kualitatif yang bersumber dari data primer dan data sekunder. Data primer didapat dari hasil wawancara dan observasi pada keyperson yang terdiri dari kepala sekolah, guru, dan peserta didik. Adapun teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu melalui reduksi data, penyajian data yang kemudian ditarik kesimpulan. Berdasarkan penelitian yang dilakukan diperoleh temuan bahwa dalam kegiatan pembelajaran ditemukan pelaksanaan penanaman nilai multikultural yang dilakukan guru yang juga didasari dengan penanaman karakter islami. Pelaksanaan program penerapan tersebut dapat dilihat dari penyelenggaraan kegiatan seperti kegiatan intrakurikuler, ekstrakurikuler, maupun kegiatan lain di luar pembelajaran. Sementara itu pelaksanaan pembelajaran sehari-hari dilakukan dengan metode pembelajaran role play, diskusi, pemberian keladanan, ceramah, dan observasi.
