RESEARCH IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM: PENINGKATAN KOMPETENSI PENELITIAN DOSEN KESEHATAN

Abstract

Abstrak: Perguruan Tinggi memiliki peran dalam peningkatan sumber daya manusia serta pengembangan kesejahteraan masyarakat di sekitarnya melalui kegiatan tri dharma yang terdiri atas pendidikan, penelitian, dan pengabdian masyarakat. Hal yang sangat disayangkan adalah para dosen di Perguruan Tinggi sering kali kurang memiliki pemahaman terkait metodologi penelitian yang cukup dan pada akhirnya hanya berakhir pada kegiatan pengajaran. Peningkatan pemahaman dosen tentang penelitian dapat dilakukan melalui Kegiatan research improvement program. Kegiatan pelatihan ini dilaksanakan selama 3 minggu yang dimulai dari 28 Agustus-11 September 2022 kepada 14 orang dosen di STIKes Dirgahayu Samarinda. Kegiatan ini dibagi menjadi 3 kegiatan besar, yakni penyusunan proposal penelitian dan konsultasi, penyegaran ilmu metodologi penelitian Kesehatan bagi dosen, dan penyegaran penyusunan artikel ilmiah. Evaluasi kognitif dilaksanakan melalui mekanisme pre-post test setelah sesi seminar online pada tanggal 3 dan 10 september 2022. Analisis keberhasilan berdasarkan perhitungan analisis statistik menggunakan SPSS 21. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan yang dilakukan mampu memberikan dampak perubahan pengetahuan peserta secara positif (Sig. 0.000 < 0.05), serta adanya korelasi kuat (0.720) antara peningkatan pengetahuan dengan kegiatan pelatihan. Limitasi yang dihadapi adalah karena kegiatan masih dilaksanakan secara online, maka keterbatasan kontak antara fasilitator dengan peserta menjadi penghalang proses interaksi dan diskusi yang seharusnya dapat terjadi.Abstract: Universities have a role in improving human resources and developing the welfare of the surrounding community through tri dharma activities consisting of education, research, and community engagement. What is very unfortunate is that lecturers at universities often lack an adequate understanding of research methodology and in the end only end up in teaching activities. Increasing lecturers' understanding of research can be done through research improvement program activities. This training activity was carried out for 3 weeks starting from August 28 to September 11, 2022 for 14 lecturers at STIKes Dirgahayu Samarinda. This activity is divided into 3 major activities, namely the preparation of research proposals and consultations, refresher knowledge of Health research methodology for lecturers, and refresher in the preparation of scientific articles. Cognitive evaluation was carried out through a pre-post-test mechanism after the online seminar session on 3 and 10 September 2022. The success analysis was based on statistical analysis calculations using SPSS 21. The results of the analysis showed that the training activities carried out were able to have a positive impact on changing participants' knowledge (Sig. 0.000 <0.05), and there was a strong correlation (0.720) between the increase in participants' knowledge and the training activities. The limitation was that because the activities were still carried out online, the limited contact between the facilitator and the participants became a barrier to the process of interaction and discussion that should happened.
