Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between the educational level of parents and the students' interest in continuing their studies to college in class XII students of SMA Idhata Banjarmasin in the 2019/2020 academic year. This research was conducted at SMA Idhata Banjarmasin which is located at Jalan Batu Piring, RT. 21 Banjarmasin City. This research was conducted from February 2019 to May 2020. The population in this study were all students of class XII SMA Idhata Banjarmasin totaling 30 students. From a population of 30 students, the required number of samples is 0.59 x 10 = 5.9. Because the calculation produces a fraction (there is a comma), then it is rounded so that the number of samples is more than 5.9, namely 6. The data collection techniques used in this study were: documentation, observation questionnaires, and interviews. Students' interest in continuing their studies to higher education in Class XII Idhata Senior High School Banjarmasin for the Academic Year 2019/2020, is classified as "not good" because the largest number of scores is in the TS category, which is 31.74%, which is between 0%-40%.
