The existence of marine biological resources is the foundation for fishermen, including small fishermen and traditional fishermen with limited availability of facilities and infrastructure. Protection of fish catch areas is very important to do in preventing unfavorable competition from the emergence of level conflicts between small fishermen and modern fishermen. This arises as a result of violations of fishing lane regulations by modern large fishing vessels, and vice versa. The urgency of the research focuses on the use of Fish finder and Global Positioning System (GPS) as tools for fishermen to find fish in order to increase fish catches. The research was evaluated by descriptive qualitative research method with a SWOT analysis approach. The results showed that the use of fish finder on fishing boats is important if it is oriented towards maximum fish catches. This is inversely proportional to the results of further research which states that the use of GPS (Global Positioning System) on fishing boats has less urgency value.
