Abstract

Abstract : The purpose of this research is to (a) describe motivation to memorize Al-Qur’an, emotional quotient, and college students learning achievement, (b) know a correlation of motivation to memorize Al-Qur’an with learning achievement, emotional quotient with learning achievement, also motivation to memorize Al-Qur’an and emotional quotient simultaneously with learning achievement. The population is 91 college students with subject determined by using simple random sampling which results 75 subjects. There are three instruments that is applied is (a) scale of motivation to memorize Al-Qur’an with reliability level 0.853, (b) scale of emotional quotient with reliability level 0.870 and (c) documentation of Grade Point (GP). The result of descriptive analysis shows that (a) the level of motivation to memorize Al-Qur’an is in the high level, (b) the level of emotional quotient is in the high level, (c) the level of students learning achievement Al-Qur’an is in the high level. The result of correlational analysis shows that (a) there is positive correlation between motivation to memorize Al-Qur’an and students learning achievement with significance 0.00 smaller is equal to 0.05 and rxy equal 0.441, (b) there is positive correlation between emotional quotient and students learning achievement with significance 0.00 smaller is equal to 0.05 and rxy equal 0.531, (c) there is positive correlation between motivation to memorize Al-Qur’an and emotional quotient simultaneously with students learning achievement with significance 0.00 smaller is equal to 0.05 and rxy equal 0.537. Keywords: motivation to memorize Al-Qur’an; emotional quotient; students learning achievement Abstrak: Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk (a) mendeskripsikan motivasi menghafal Al-Qur’an, kecerdasan emosional, dan prestasi belajar mahasiswa, (b) mengetahui hubungan motivasi menghafal Al-Qur’an dengan prestasi belajar, kecerdasan emosional dengan prestasi belajar, serta motivasi menghafal Al-Qur’an dan kecerdasan emosional secara simultan dengan prestasi belajar. Populasi penelitian berjumlah 91 mahasiswa, pengambilan subjek 75 mahasiswa dengan menggunakan teknik sampel acak sederhana. Ada tiga instrumen pengumpulan data yang digunakan yaitu (a) skala motivasi menghafal Al-Qur’an dengan reliabilitas 0,853, (b) skala kecerdasan emosional dengan reliabilitas 0,870 dan (c) dokumentasi nilai indeks prestasi (IP). Berdasarkan hasil analisis deskriptif diperoleh informari bahwa (a) tingkat motivasi menghafal Al- Qur’an mahasiswa tergolong tinggi, (b) tingkat kecerdasan emosional mahasiswa tergolong tinggi, (c) tingkat prestasi belajar mahasiswa tergolong tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil analisis korelasi diperoleh informasi bahwa (a) terdapat korelasi positif motivasi menghafal Al-Qur’an dan prestasi belajar dengan signifikansi 0,00 lebih kecil sama dengan 0,05 dan rxy sama dengan 0,441, (b) terdapat korelasi positif kecerdasan emosional dan prestasi belajar dengan signifikansi 0,00 lebih kecil sama dengan 0,05 dan rxy sama dengan 0,531, (c) terdapat korelasi positif motivasi menghafal Al-Qur’an dan kecerdasan emosional secara simultan dengan prestasi belajar dengan signifikansi 0,00 lebih kecil sama dengan 0,05 dan rxy sama dengan 0,537.
