HUBUNGAN KARAKTERISTIK MAHASISWA DENGAN POLA KONSUMSI BUAH DAN OLAHANNYA

Abstract

Fruits and their preparations are beneficial in maintaining the body's immunity, but students are included in the group that consumes them less. The purpose of this study is to describe the characteristics of students and their families, and to relate them to consumption patterns of fruit and its preparations. The research method used is survey. The data analysis technique used includes descriptive statistics. Respondents in the study were students of the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Padjadjaran. Research shows the characteristics of the majority of respondents are women, aged 20 years, living in boarding houses. The majority of respondents' pocket money is 500 thousand - 1.5 million rupiah, spending on consumption of fruit and processed products is less than 150 thousand rupiah, has a family size of 4 people, and the last education of their parents is university. Popular types of fruit to consume are mangoes and fruit juices. The number of respondents with a minimum consumption of 150 grams/day was only 9%. These results are dominated by male respondents, have an pocket money of IDR 500 thousand -1.5 million, consumption expenditure ≥ IDR 150 thousand, the number of family members is 4-5 people and their parents' education is university. INTISARIBuah beserta olahannya bermanfaat dalam menjaga imunitas tubuh, tetapi mahasiswa termasuk ke dalam kelompok yang kurang dalam mengonsumsinya. Tujuan dari penelitian ini yaitu untuk mendeskripsikan karakteristik mahasiswa dan keluarganya, serta dihubungkan dengan pola konsumsi buah dan olahannya. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode survei. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan meliputi statistik deskriptif. Responden pada penelitian adalah mahasiswa Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Padjadjaran. Penelitian menunjukkan  karakteristik responden mayoritas perempuan, berusia 20 tahun, tinggal di kos. Mayoritas uang saku responden 500 ribu – 1.5 juta rupiah, Pengeluaran untuk konsumsi buah dan olahannya kurang dari 150 ribu rupiah, memiliki jumlah anggota keluarga 4 orang, serta pendidikan terakhir orang tua yaitu perguruan tinggi. Jenis buah populer untuk dikonsumsi adalah mangga dan jus buah. Jumlah tesponden dengan jumlah konsumisinya minimal 150 gram/hari hanya 9%. Hasil tersebut didominasi oleh Responden laki -laki, memiliki uang saku Rp 500 ribu -1,5 Juta, pengeluaran konsumsi ≥Rp 150 ribu, jumlah anggota keluarga 4-5 orang dan pendidikan orangtuanya adalah perguruan tinggi.
