Abstract

The background of the problem in research at SD Negeri Kaliacar 1 shows low student learning outcomes >50% still below the KKM, teachers lack creativity in creating learning media and mastery of the class so that students feel quickly bored in learning. Based on the context that occurred, this research focused on the research objective, namely to improve student learning outcomes by using big book media images as an effort to overcome problems. The method of this research is PTK (Classroom Action Research) developing the use of the Kemmis & McTaggart PTK model with 2 cycles in each cycle there are 2 meetings so there are 4 meetings in total. Cycle I and cycle II consisted of 4 stages namely planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study were 6 students in class II of SD Negeri Kaliacar 1, including 2 boys and 4 girls. Learning achievement test data were analyzed using the average value and percentage of classical learning completeness. Meanwhile, observations through observation sheets were observed by observers using the average score, the highest score, the lowest score, the difference between scores and interval criteria values. The results of the study are that the observations on the teacher and student components were carried out in cycle I and cycle II at each meeting. Student learning outcomes can be seen that the first cycle is only 33% with an average value of 63 and then increases after using the big book picture media in the second cycle to 83%. Thus, it can be said that from cycle I to cycle II, an overall increase of 50% was obtained. Based on the results of this study, it can be concluded that through the application of big book image media, it can improve the learning outcomes of class II students at SD Negeri Kaliacar 1 Probolinggo District..
