Abstract

Exercise Strategy for Barre Technique: A Case Study on the 1st and 3rd movement of Carlo Domeniconi’s KoyunbabaThe purpose of this study was to identify the obstacles to the barre technique found in the Koyunbaba repertoire by Carlo Domeniconi 1st  and 3rd movement and to find alternative training strategies to overcome them. The research method uses descriptive qualitative. The main focus of this research is to find and classify the types of barre technique constraints in the first part of Koyunbaba's repertoire and then find the right training strategy from several existing training method approaches. The benefit obtained from this research is that the training strategy offered can be used as an alternative that is applied by guitarists who have the same constraints in playing the Koyunbaba repertoire. The results of the study indicated that there were other technical combinations that emerged alongside the barre technique itself. There are at least three types of barre constraints found, namely Barre and Finger Stretching, Full Barre and Half Barre, Barre, finger independent and arpeggios. From the analysis of these constraints the training strategy offered is to exercise barre strengthening, finger stretching, finger independent separately and then practice by combining them.
