<![CDATA[AbstractAl-Qur'an and Hadith as the basis of Islamic teachings, not only regulate the affairs of ubudiyah issues, but also contain verses related to science and technology (IPTEK). Many verses of the Qur'an and Hadith that give cues about science such as biology, history, astronomy, and many more. Science is one of the main contents of the content of the holy book of the Qur'an. Even the word 'ilm itself is mentioned in the Qur'an 105 times, but with the word 'ilm' it is mentioned more than 744 times which is indeed one of the necessities of Islam. The word science is used in the sense of the process of achieving knowledge. To study it in its entirety it is necessary to use scientific, philosophical, human sciences (humanities), historical, sociological and doctrinal methods. In studying the Qur'an in order to find values that can manifest rahmatan lil alaamin, it is necessary to have the role of reason that has a high degree but it must be remembered that the human mind contains limitations. Therefore, in experiencing the contents of the Qur'an as a whole and thoroughly, a theological, philosophical, scientific, and sensory way of thinking is needed. This requirement is necessary because not all problems can be solved or overcome only by philosophical thinking, but require other methods that can be used together.Keywords: Al-qu’an; islam; knowledgeAbstrakAl-Qur’an dan Hadits sebagai dasar ajaran Islam, tidak hanya mengatur urusan masalah ubudiyah saja, tetapi juga memuat ayat-ayat yang berhubungan dengan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi (IPTEK). Banyak ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an maupun Hadits yang memberikan isyarat tentang ilmu pengetahuan seperti ilmu biologi, sejarah, astronomi, dan masih banyak lagi. Ilmu pengetahuan adalah merupakan salah satu isi pokok kandungan kitab suci Al Qur’an. Bahkan kata ‘ilm itu sendiri disebut dalam Al Qur’an sebanyak 105 kali, tetapi dengan kata jadiannya ia disebut lebih dari 744 kali yang memang merupakan salah satu kebutuhan agama Islam. Kata ilmu ini digunakan dalam arti proses pencapaian pengetahuan. Untuk mempelajari secara utuh perlu digunakan metode ilmiah, filosofis, ilmu-ilmu manusia (humaniora), historis, sosiologis dan doktriner. Dalam mempelajari Al Qur’an agar dapat menemukan nilai-nilai yang dapat mewujudukan rahmatan lil alaamin diperlukan peranan akal yang mempunyai derajat yang tinggi tetapi harus diingat bahwa akal manusia mengandung keterbatasan. Oleh karena itu dalam menghayati isi Al-Qur'an secara utuh dan menyeluruh diperlukan cara berpikir teologis, filosofis, ilmiah, dan inderawi.
