<![CDATA[This synthesis of authority is needed to achieve an efficient legal settlement. For example, because of the delay in determining the attitude of law enforcers, it has an impact on the failure to arrest the perpetrator or even have to increase the costs sourced from the State to solve cases that are increasingly difficult to uncover. So that the author conducts research to unravel how the Progressive Law Enforcement actually occurs due to the Discretionary Authority of the Police in Indonesia. The research method used in this study is the Normative legal research method. This research is an academic study that aims to systematically explain the legal rules regarding the discretionary authority of the Indonesian National Police in criminal law enforcement. The result of this research is the importance of quick action in handling several cases that occur. The attitude of the police determines whether a case can be handled faster and better or not, given the potential loss of evidence and or the perpetrators themselves. Without this authority, it is not impossible that many cases will experience the termination of the investigation because the expiration of a case is influenced by process factors that can be resolved if the police alertness is not supported through the discretionary authority.]]>
