This study aims to determine the feasibility of a laboratory lighting system in a school in South Tangerang based on SNI 6197: 2020. The methods used include direct observation and measurement of the actual condition of the laboratory and lighting simulations for various time conditions and room occupancy. The results showed that the actual condition of laboratory lighting has not met the minimum standards set, so it is necessary to redesign the lighting system, especially in increasing the utilization of natural lighting. With an actual WWR of 2.5%, daylighting is inadequate to achieve the desired illuminance level, making a redesign of the lighting system essential. Increasing the WWR to 10% resulted in an average illuminance that met and exceeded the minimum standards during operational hours, with average illuminance values in work areas consistently higher than 500 lx. This was done with the hope of optimizing laboratory functions and creating a conducive learning environment.
