This study aims to improve the skills of writing free verse poetry among fourth-grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negri Nganjuk in the Baron sub-district of Nganjuk district through the technique of describing concrete objects in their environment in the academic year 2021/2022. The research method used is classroom action research conducted in two cycles. The subjects of this study were fourth-grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negri Nganjuk, with a total of 25 students. Data collection techniques used were observations, tests, and documentation. The results of the study showed an increase in the average score of students' writing skills from 64.2 in cycle 1 to 81.6 in cycle 2. There was also an increase in the percentage of students who achieved the target score, which increased from 44% in cycle 1 to 84% in cycle 2. The use of the technique of describing concrete objects in their environment was found to be effective in improving students' writing skills in free verse poetry. Therefore, it can be concluded that the use of the technique of describing concrete objects in their environment can improve the skills of writing free verse poetry among fourth-grade students of Madrasah Ibtidaiyah Negri Nganjuk in the Baron sub-district of Nganjuk district in the academic year 2021/2022.
