The research is based on the existence of a mysterious secret society namely Freemasonry during the Dutch East Indies which reached the smallest areas in the archipelago. The research objective is to examine the history and role of Freemasons in Tasikmalaya. The research method used is the historical method namely heuristics, criticism, interpretation and historiography. The results showed that in Tasikmalaya there were Freemasonry members, the elite indigenous and Wedana of Tasikmalaya, Raden Somanah Soeria di Redja, among the Dutch were Eggink, Stam, and Onnen. Freemasonry during the Dutch East Indies was not a myth but existed and had an active role in encouraging the establishment of Dutch Colonialism and spread the idea of Secularism in the Archipelago.
