<![CDATA[This article is an exploration on socio-economic changes as the result of the advancement in science and technology in the era of globakation and their impact on the reformation of educational system of the pesantren. This article also tries to elicit ideas and concepts for the development of educational models for pesantren in the future as well as concepts and steps for the revitakation of education in pesantren in the era of globalization. The article starts with brief accounts of socio-economic changes, followed by description of the problems faced by pesantren in education, and ends with bringing up ideas and thoughts relating to the changes in the educational system of the pesantren.]]>
