Abstract

Pulau Waigeo merupakan salah satu pulau besar di Raja Ampat Provinsi Papua Baratyang kaya akan tumbuhan endemik pada dataran rendah tanah kapur (karst). Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menginventarisasi jenis-jenis tumbuhan yang unik dan endemik yang perlu dilindungi. Lokasi penelitian meliputi kawasan hutan primer di sepanjang Sungai Warambiae, Hutan Adat Distrik Teluk Mayalibit dan Wilayah Gunung Danai. Tumbuhan di Pulau Waigeo sangat tinggi keanekaragamannya dikarenakan tingginya jenis-jenis tumbuhan endemik, seperti: Pule Waigeo (Alstonia beatricis), Guioa waigeonensis, Calophyllum parvifolium, Nepenthes danseri, Schefflera apiculata, Hernandia origera, sapu tangan (Maniltoa rosea) dan lain-lain. Jenis-jenis anggrek, palma dan keluarga keladi termasuk tinggi keanekaragamannya. Kawasan hutan yang masih begitu luas terutama hutan primer yang ada di wilayah sepanjang aliran Sungai Warambiae dari hulu di Gunung Danai hingga bermuara di Teluk Mayalibit perlu dilindungi karena wilayahnya belum masuk dalam wilayah cagar alam.Kata kunci : Inventarisasi, Kabupaten Raja Ampat, Pulau Waigeo, Tumbuhan EndemikABSTRACTWaigeo Island is one of the big islands in the Province of West Papua which is rich with endemic plants within lowland soil limestone (karst). The purpose of this research is to inventory the species of plants that are unique and endemic so that need to be protected. Location of research covering the area of primary forest along the Warambiae River, the indigenous forests of the Mayalibit Gulf District, Regions of Mt. Danai. Waigeo Island is high diversity and high of plants endemic, such as: Pule Waigeo (Alstonia beatricis), Guioa waigeonensis, Calophyllum parvifolium, Nepenthes danseri, Scefflera apiculata, Hernandia origera, handkerchief tree (Maniltoa rosea) etc. Species of orchids, palma and also included to the high diversities family. The forest is still primary forest in the region along the Warambiae River into the Mayalibit Gulf.
