<![CDATA[Penelitian ini berjudul “Strategi Komunikasi Interpersonal Dokter Spesialis Gigi Anak Terhadap Pasien Anak di RSGM Unsyiah”. Ketakutan anak terhadap dokter khusunya dokter gigi atau segala hal yang berhubungan dengan medis adalah hal yang sering kita jumpai. Untuk itu dokter spesialis gigi anak dituntut untuk mampu membangun hubungan yang bersahabat dengan pasien melalui komunikasi interpersonal agar dapat memberikan perawatan yang efektif dan efisien. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dan memahami tentang strategi komunikasi interpersonal yang dilakukan dokter spesialis gigi anak terhadap pasien anak di RSGM Unsyiah. Disini peneliti mengunakan teori Kompetensi Komunikasi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan analisis deskriptif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan tekhnik wawancara semi terstruktur, observasi partisipan, dan dokumentasi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian strategi komunikasi yang digunakan oleh dokter spesialis gigi anak terhadap pasien anak yang pertama mengenali pasien berdasarkan tingkatan usia dan tingkah laku, menggunakan metode penyampain pesan informasi, persuasif dan instruksi yang disesuaikan dengan usia dan tingkah laku, dan membangun hubungan yang lebih dekat dengan pasien anak agar dapat merubah sikap.Kata kunci : Strategi Komunikasi, Komunikasi Interpersonal, Dokter Spesialis Gigi Anak The communications strategy interpersonal specialized doctors children teeth towards patients children in rsgm unsyiahThis research is titled “Interpersonal Communication Strategy of Pediatric Dentists towards Pediatric Patients in Unsyiah RSGM”. The fear of pediatric patients towards the dentist or any medical related things is often found. Therefore a dentist is required to be capable in making a friendly approach with the patients through interpersonal communication thus the treatment can be effective and efficient. This research aims to evaluate and comprehend the interpersonal communication strategy of pediatric dentists towards pediatric patients in Unsyiah RSGM. Communication Competence theory is used in this research. The method used in this research is qualitative approach with descriptive analysis. Data collecting was conducted with semi-structured interview technique, participant observation, and documentation. Based on the research result of communication strategy which was used by pediatric dentists towards pediatric patient, the first is identifying patients’ level of age and behavior, by using information message delivery method, persuasive and instruction that fits the age and behavior, and making closer relationshsip with the pediatric patients to change the behavior.
