This research aims were to describe the use of teaching material based on local wisdom to increase student’s learning activity and the mastery of student’s concept through scientific approach. The design that used in this research was one group pretest postest. The subjects of this research was 33 students of grade IV in SDN Kampung Jawa. The material in this reserach was care for the living creatures. The effectiveness was proven by n-Gain the value and supported by students’s learning activity and student’s response survey. The result of this research showed that the mastery concept of studentst (n-Gain) in learning was high criteria, students’s learning activity was good criteria and students’s response to the learning material was very high criteria. Based on the result of this research, it can be concluded that the teaching material based on local wisdom was effective to increase students’s learning activity and mastery of concept in SDN Kampung Jawa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan penggunaan bahan ajar berbasis kearifan lokal untuk meningkatkan aktivitas belajar dan penguasaan konsep siswa. Desain yang digunakan adalah one group pretest postest. Sampel penelitian ini adalah 33 siswa kelas IV di SDN Kampung Jawa dengan teknik sampling jenuh. Materi dalam penelitian adalah peduli terhadap makhluk hidup. Keefektivan dibuktikan melalui nilai n-Gain serta didukung oleh aktivitas belajar dan angket tanggapan siswa. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penguasaan konsep siswa (n-Gain) dengan kriteria tinggi, aktivitas belajar siswa berkriteria baik, serta tanggapan siswa terhadap bahan ajar memiliki kriteria sangat tinggi. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian tersebut disimpulkan bahwa bahan ajar berbasis kearifan lokal efektif untuk meningkatkan penguasaan konsep dan aktivitas belajar siswa di SDN Kampung Jawa.Kata kunci: aktivitas, kearifan lokal, penguasaan konsep
