Abstract

Citarum River deposits, which located at near Cikawao and Nagrag villages (Sub-district of Pacet) and Sukamaju village (Sub-district of Majalaya), Bandung District, consist of cobbles to boulders, sands to pebbles, sands, and clays. The research was carried by analysed sedimentology and stratigraphy of five vertical profiles with 1:20 scales, and the thickness of sediments vary from 1.6 to 4,0 m. Base on correlation, the sediment bodies can be devided into three Interval of Deposition Periods (IPP A to C), and ten of Sub-Interval of Deposition Periods (Sub-IPP A.1 to C.3).The lateral changes of sediments represented by each Sub-IPP, interpreted as result of internal processes such as morphology, energy, and flow. Vertically, changes of sediments that form nine steps of cobble to boulder resulted from the change of flow systems following climate change . It is understood that, the period of energy and flows correlate with climatic changes. Keywords: River channel, morphology, energy and flows, climate

Abstract

Delineation of the subsurface of data required to determined potential the presence of biogenic gas. Subsurface interpretation is done by using the data for analysis electrolysis cutting, the log data in the form of Logs GR, RT, NEU, RHOB of 39 wells and gas data (Mud Logs) from the chromatograph and Correlation wells are done. Shallow gas is concentrated or accumulated in the marker interval until Fs-s2 and Fs-s3 (at the depth interval of 950-1300 MSS), and isolated existence. The existence of gas on the platform M in shallow zones (shallow zone, above the marker MF2) is dominated by C1 gas/methane (gas surface), there were no gas C2 (only minor traces on the M38 start at a depth of wells 1200 MSS), while the presence of other gas (C3, C4, C5) only appear as minor traces. Based on gas analysis, it can be concluded that in the interval of 950-1300 MSS there is a surge of the total gas, when compared with data from its Master Log turns anomaly is derived from limestone and coal layers in which these results are correlated with a map of Gas Bearing Reservoir Mapping.Based on the data that has been processed, it can be concluded that the shallow gas accumulates at a depth of 950-1300 MSS or at interval marker Fs-s2 and Fs-s3. So for the next drilling activity on Platform M, is expected to be aware of the depth zone.Keyword - Biogenic Gas, Electrofacies Analysis, Delineation, Gas Analysis, , Marker Interval, Well Correlation

Abstract

Bouguer anomaly in Jakarta Basin can be grouped into 2 parts there are the Bouguer anomaly of 40 mgal to 60 mgal showing limestone and volcanic breccia. Bouguer anomalies 20 mgal to 40 mgal indicate sedimentary rock basin. Rock units based on residual anomaly are grouped into 6 parts: Kaliwangu Formation or Cisubuh Formation with a density of 2.5 gr /cm3, Subang Formation with a density of 2.45 gr / cm3, Parigi Formation / Cibulakan with a density of 2.7 gr / cm3, Jatiluhur Formation with a density of 2. 6 gr / cm3, Jatibarang Formation 2.8 gr/cm3, metamorphic bed rocks / intrusive rocks with a density of 2.9 gr /cm3, Rengasdengklok and Karawang anticline are interpreted as a good prospective hydrocarbon formed in a residual anomaly of 10 mgal with a density 2.7 gr / cm3 depthness between. 1900-2200m. Jakarta anticline to the south and Bekasi anticline are interpreted as having the prospect with residual anomalies of 0-4 mgal, but having a smaller dimension. Lower Cibulakan Formation is as the source rock consisting of shale lacustrine, and the reservoir rocks are Cibulakan and Parigi Formation with the thickness of + 400 m consisting of limestone cavities. Pretertiary bedrock with the density of 2.9 gr/ cm3 consists of metamorphic / igneous rocks .  Keywords: gravity, residual anomaly, formation, anticline, oil and gas

Abstract

The known gastropod fauna of Triassic and Jurassic ages from the Misool Archipelago is reviewed, based on collections made during a 1981 expedition jointly by personnel from the then-Geological Research and Development Centre, Bandung, and the Australian Bureau of Mineral Resources. The new material includes one new species, Bathrotomaria foronica, from the Yefbie Formation (Aalenian), and two undescribed but probably new species, a Rhaetian ?Angularia from the Lios Member of the Bogal Formation and a Purpurina of Aalenian or jBajocian age from the Yefbie Formation. In addition, other material from the Rhaetian Lios Member, too poorly preserved for generic identification, is allotted to the Subfamily Neritinae. Some forms recorded by earlier workers were not recollected but have been listed for completeness, giving a total of five described species and a further five in open nomenclature. Most taxa are unique to this area, but one, Eucyclus orbignyanus (Hudleston), is known also from Europe. Keywords: gastropod, Triassic, Jurassic, Misool Archipelago, Yefbie Formation, Lios Member, Bogal Formation

Abstract

An interpretation of 1971 aerial photograph (phanchromatic) of the Kerinci valley area is intended to identify morphotectonic elements, in order to examine the genesis of Kerinci valley and to delineate a potential natural disasters zone. The interpretation shows the trace of macro morphotectonic elements related to the tectonic movements in the past, such as old faultscarp, young faultscarp, small faultscarp, shifting river channel, alignment of the valley and lineaments. Therefore landscape of the Kerinci valley was produced by structure activities that are dominated by vertical movements. Besides some of tectonic movements accompanying landforms are observed, such as a pile of fluvio volcanic fan and terrace deposites. The faultscarp pattern extends parallel to the direction of main fault in the Sumatra island and become narrows at the northern end. In this area is very potential for earthquakeKey words : morfotectonic, faultscarp, alignment, alluvial fan, earthquake

Abstract

Intergrated geological and geophysical informations provide ilustration of subsurface geology of the researched area. Result of gravity modelling of the study area show several grabbens and intrusives. This structures would probably be act as trap of a geothermal potential. The young intrusive rocks beneath the Gunung Karang is interpretated as a heat sources, while the Tertiary sedimentary rocks could possibly be a reservoir. The altered volcanic rocks widely exposed in the study area may presence as a caprock. The possibility of geothermal energy potential is also indicated by the area.occurrence of several of springs exposed in the area. Abstract

This research aims to identify hydrothermal mineral deposits using geomagnetic methods. The geomagnetic method used to obtain anomaly of magnetic field intensity contrast. Furthermore, there is also been conducted taking and analysis samples of rock using petrography, ore microscopic and XRD. It is done to obtain mineralogical characteristics of hydrothermal mineral deposits that becoming the exploration target. The results showed that hydrothermal mineral deposits in research area was characterized by hydrothermal alteration of argillic (kaoline-illite), propylitic (calcite-chlorite) and skarn (quatrz-calcite-pyroxine/ clinopyroxine). Ore minerals are present of sulphide minerals such as pyrite, chalcopyrite, sphalerite, covelit and oxide minerals such as hematite abundance. The existence of hydrothermal mineral deposits are associated with skarn type deposit. Zones of mineral deposits of metallic ores are characterized by a significant contrast magnetic anomalies with high magnetic field intensity higher than 110,31 nT on the total magnetic intensity anomaly and higher than 11,09 nT on the residual magnetic intensity anomaly, as the response from the presence of metal in the ore mineral enrichment of rock material.keywords : hydrothermal minerals, magnetic field anomaly, petrography, ore microscopic, XRD skarn, Kasihan

Abstract

A study on the conglomeratic sandstone and siltstone unit (Qoa) in the Mulyasejati Village (Kabupaten Karawang) and Conglomeratic and tuffaceous sandstone unit (Qav) of Pleistocene age in the Cilangkap Village (Kabupaten Purwakarta) has been carried out. The objectives of this paper are to reconstruct the mechanism of Depositional Period Intervals (DPI) of each lithologic unit. Sedimentological and stratigraphical analyses were carried out in the field based on seven vertical measured section of 1:50 scales. The thickness of the sections range from 1.20 to 7.70 m. Based on the correlation, both of lithostratigraphic units belong to into fluvial systems, and can be divided into four DPI (A to D). The sedimentary facies pattern of each DPI is controlled by the thrust structure, and are shown by stacking channels (FAS) 1 to 4. Whereas, the vertical composition of sediment is controlled by the fluctuation humidity related to climate change following Milankovitch cycles. Changes in the colour and composition of the sediments of the fluvial systems during the depositional processes of DPI A-D, can be interpereted as the result of climate changes. The climate circulations starting from nearly climatic optimum to climatic minimum or even dry. Keywords: facies, fluvial, climate, Interval of Deposition Periods
