Abstract

Problem solving, as the high mental activity in tackling mathematical problem should be a main concern to all respected parties. Facts and data in the field show students face a hard situation in solving math problems. Therefore, it requires an alternative solution to optimize student’s problem-solving capacity, one of them through scientific approach. Moreover, this approach builds student’s competencies in solving math problem through knowledge empowerment of critical thinking skills and creative thinking skills of students to solve the problems with a systematic and measurable way. In addition, the objectives of this research are (1) higher problem-solving skills, taught by scientific approach than those taught by realistic mathematical approach to trigonometric material, and (2) student’s response to problem solving ability through scientific approach on trigonometric material. The research population is all students of grade X SMAN 1 and the sample is the student who is in the grade X MIPA3 and grade IV MIPA by using cluster random sampling technique. This experimental study created by Posttest-only Control Design. This study also uses questionnaire and math problem solving test as the data collection. The result of research shows that (1) Statistical test of t-test on right side was obtained tcount 2,76 and ttable=1,65, and tcount > ttable then accept H1 reject H0 (2) Student response to approach 3,21. Thus, it is conclude that (1) the higher mathematical problem solving skills are taught through a scientific approach rather than the problem-solving skills taught by realistic mathematical approaches. (2) student’s response to the scientific approach of this category is very positive.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the increased activity and learning outcomes akidah morals through multimedia LCD Projector. The method used in this research is library research. Data collection is obtained through documentation studies of related scientific works. The type of research is qualitative ie that produces analytical procedures that do not use statistical analysis procedures or other qualifications. Based on the results of the study concluded that the application of media: (1) Increase student learning activities. This is based on literature studies that researchers get. (2) Improve learning outcomes. This is based on literature studies that researchers obtain, from the results of pre-cycle learning has increased.

Abstract

A study has been conducted on the use of Student Work Sheets (LKPD) to improve Flexible thinking skills in terms of gender differences. The research was conducted at SMAN 11 Banda Aceh. Flexible thinking is the ability to generate varied answers or ideas and can see a problem from different perspectives. LKPD is a sheet containing tasks that are usually in the form of instructions and steps to complete the task. Both classes are male and female class using LKPD method. The method used is one-group pretest posttest design. Data collection is done by technique of description test that is to measure Flexible thinking skill. The results showed that there were differences in the increase of male and female group of students to Flexible thinking skill with the use of LKPD on kinetic gas theory material with significance value 0,05 and Fhitung (1,85)

Abstract

Education Birrul Walidain is one of the most important factors in ideal character education. The creatoin of a generation that akhlakul karimah is a dream for the parents of their children. Education Birrul Walidain is very influential on adab to parents. In the Qu’an Allah has explained many related verses about Birrul Walidain. One of them is in sura Luqman verse 14 and sura Al – Isra verses 23-24. The word of God in sura Luqman verse 14 describes the struggle of a mother in pregnancy, giving birth to raising. God tells the strugglr of a mother so that a child can know a mother’s struggle so that he can reply by doing good to him and not lawless to him even on of them do not say “ah” which has been described in surah Al – Isra verses 23-24. In the letter of Al-Isra verses 23-24 it consists of five kinds of prohibitions in the words of Uffin, the ban forming with harsh words, saying with noble words, be tawadhu, and pray for his parents either alive or dead. Al – Qur’an and sunna assert Birrul Walidain as a duty. This explains how big the attention of Islam to both parents.

Abstract

This study aims at describing how social and cultural motivations of students in choosing the English Department of IAIN Surakarta for their academic and career objectives, how the responses of students to the lecturers in teaching, and how the attitude of the students towards the course they follow.This is a survey research by distributing a questionnaire adapted from Attitude Motivation Test Battery (AMTB) and completed by interview. Data was analyzed by quantitative and descriptive manner. Based on the research results, students’ motivation majoring in English education IAIN Surakarta has shown good motivation. Of the four aspects in the analysis, it can be seen that the students have a good motivation. In the aspect of integrative, most of the students already have a good attitude towards learning English. It can be seen from the statistics obtained from questionnaires given. Statistics show that as many as 34.46% of the students agreed and 38.21% strongly agreed. The instrumental aspect also shows quite positive results. This can be proven by statistics that more than 41% of students answered agree to the statements in the questionnaire given. On the attitude towards lecturers, data obtained from quetionaire showed that 39.17% of the students agreed and 10:42% of respondents strongly agreed with the statement given. The last is a question related to the subject, as many as seven out of ten statements contained in this aspect of this course is a negative statement. So it can be concluded that the students already have a good attitude and interest towards learning English. From the statistics above show that student majoring in English education IAIN Surakarta had a pretty good motivation to learn, but still need for development in order to reach optimal learning results.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the performance of professional teachers (post-certification) after obtaining a certificate of professional educators as well as allowances. The main competencies of professional teachers can be assessed by 6 capabilities, including the ability to implement the lesson, create modules and instructional media, preparation of RPP, personal and social competence, liveliness in academic organization and academic achievement development capability. This study is a model study of the Goal-Free Evaluation Model. The study population is all teachers of SMP who have passed the certification in Aceh Besar District. Sampling is done purposive sampling to teachers of science lessons in Secondary Schools in Aceh Besar District. Headmaster Principals are also involved to assess teachers' performance on the aspects of instructional administration. Data were collected using questionnaire, then analyzed using quantitative and qualitative descriptive technique. The results showed from 6 Aspects of assessment, four aspects of them are learning ability, modules and learning media, preparation of RPP, personal and social competence have shown high performance. However two others namely liveliness in professional organizations and the development of academic achievement, still in low performance. Hopefully these results can be input for the Office of Education of Aceh Besar Regency as a basic material for improving the quality of education in terms of improving the performance of Professional Teachers in Aceh Besar Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the content of Ayu Utami's Simple Miracles novel in terms of literary sociology and character education. Besides this research also see its relevance to the learning of literature in high school grade 12. This research uses qualitative descriptive method with the subject of Simple Miracles novel. Ayu Utami's novel tells about the life of one family and about the deaths of several family members. The results of this study indicate a social relationship between the characters both in one family member and outside family members. In addition, the results of this study can be deduced from 18 things that are characterized by the characters in this novel, religious, honest, tolerant, independent, democratic, curiosity, friendly, reading, social, and responsibility. This novel also has local cultural features known, religious, and social so that it can be a teaching material in high school grade 12 in accordance with KD 4.1.

Abstract

Many teenagers in Aceh have been found to be unable to properly recite the Quran, one of which is caused by their lack of habits to reciting the Quran during childhood. To respond to this issue, a learning institution called Bait QuranySalehRahmany (BQSR) Kindergarten/Preschool in Banda Aceh works to teach the children to recite and memorize the Quran in their early years. The subjects of the study were the principal, four teachers, and several students of BQSR Banda Aceh. This study employed a qualitative research design with an analytic descriptive method. Data were collected by observation, interview, and documentation. The data were then analyzed by data reduction, data display, and data verification. The findings showed that the Quran materials to be memorized included surah An-Naas and surah An-Naba’. In terms of the methods, the school implemented the methods of kinesthetic, andJarimatika(use of fingers). The implementation of these methods was as follow: first, in the Jarimatika method, the fingers were used as the tool in helping the students memorize the surah; and second, in the kinesthetic method, the memorization was done word-by-word (juzamma), and the body movements were used while memorizing the surah. The implications of using the Jarimatika method indicated that the students were easier to memorize, their memorization could last longer, their cognitive domain was also exercised, and the motoric sensor of their hands could be stimulated. As for the kinesthetic method, the implications elucidated that the students were also easier to memorize the surah, the passive attitude of the students could be overcome, the learning atmosphere was much better, the students’ achievements were also affected, the motoric sensor of the students could also be stimulated, and the tahfiz skill of the students could be enhanced as well.
