This journal, with ISSN 2088-1290, was firstly published on June 1, 2011, in the context to commemorate the Birthday of Pancasila's Name in Indonesia. Since issue of June 2012 to December 2014, the ATIKAN journal was organized by the Lecturers of FKIP UNSUR (Faculty of Education and Teacher Training, Suryakancana University) in Cianjur; and, since issue of December 2014 to June 2015, by the Lecturers of FPOK UPI (Faculty of Sport and Health Education, Indonesia University of Education) in Bandung; and published by Minda Masagi Press as a publisher owned by ASPENSI (the Association of Indonesian Scholars of History Education) in Bandung, West Java, Indonesia. The articles published in ATIKAN journal are able to be written in English as well as in Indonesian and Malay languages. This journal is published twice a year i.e. every June and December. The ATIKAN journal is devoted, but not limited to, primary education, secondary education, higher education, teacher education, special education, adult education, non-formal education, and any new development and advancement in the field of education. The scope of our journal includes: (1) Language and literature education; (2) Social science education; (3) Sports and health education; (4) Economy and business education; (5) Math and natural science education; (6) Vocational and engineering education; and (7) Visual arts, dance, music, and design education.

Abstract

ABSTRACT: The National Sports System Law in 2005 stated that the scope of sports system in Indonesian is divided into three components, they are: Educational Sport, Recreational Sport, and Competitive Sport. Like it or not, there has been still a bias in the way peoples gave meaning of the sports in the planning document, which is irrelevant with the true meaning purported by the law; and in which it is also still meant that the sports should be directed to the cultivation of the high performance solely. This is definitely inaccurate meaning for which the real meaning of educational sport has its own goal and different targets, giving children broader opportunities to expand and explore their own potentialities. The policy to develop educational sport is supposed to be concentrated on the improvement of physical education and sport program quality; to increase the number of schools organizing sport extra-curricular activities, sport units, and sport classes; to improve the quality of services and management of the Education and Training Center; and to increase the number of sports school in many region of provinces in Indonesia with national standard. If all those mentioned activities could be improved, then, this educational sports program will undoubtedly contribute positively to the sports development foundation in Indonesia generally. KEY WORD: Development of educational sports, recreational sport, and competitive sport, policy review, sports law, and sports development foundation in Indonesia.RINGKASAN: “Pembangunan Olahraga Pendidikan di Indonesia: Studi Kebijakan Berdasarkan Undang-Undang Sistem Keolahragaan Nasional”. Undang-Undang Keolahragaan Nasional Tahun 2005 menyatakan bahwa ruang lingkup sistem olahraga di Indonesia dibagi menjadi tiga komponen, yaitu: Olahraga Pendidikan, Olahraga Rekreasi, dan Olahraga Prestasi. Suka atau tidak, masih ada bias dalam cara orang memberi arti olahraga dalam dokumen perencanaan, yang tidak relevan dengan makna sebenarnya didalam undang-undang; dan yang masih juga berarti bahwa olahraga harus diarahkan untuk mencapai prestasi puncak semata-mata. Ini jelas makna tidak akurat dalam arti yang sebenarnya dalam olahraga pendidikan, yang memiliki tujuan sendiri dan target berbeda, yakni memberikan anak-anak kesempatan yang lebih luas untuk mengeksplorasi potensi mereka dan mengembangkannya. Kebijakan untuk mengembangkan olahraga pendidikan seharusnya berkonsentrasi pada usaha untuk meningkatkan kualitas program pendidikan jasmani dan olahraga; untuk meningkatkan jumlah sekolah yang menyelenggarakan kegiatan olahraga ekstra-kurikuler, unit olahraga, dan kelas olahraga; untuk meningkatkan kualitas pelayanan dan pengelolaan Pusat Pendidikan dan Latihan; serta untuk meningkatkan jumlah sekolah olahraga di banyak wilayah provinsi di Indonesia dengan standar nasional. Abstract

RINGKASAN: Penelitian ini hendak mengkaji keefektifan model pendekatan taktik dan teknik, yang mungkin diharapkan dapat dijadikan sebagai model alternatif dalam rangka pengembangan kualitas pembelajaran permainan bolavoli. Metode eksperimen dengan desain pasca-tes subyek acak dalam dua kelompok digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Pengumpulan data dilakukan terhadap subyek sebanyak 60 siswa SMPN (Sekolah Menengah Pertama Negeri) 4 Kota Bandung, yang diambil dengan teknik random sampling sederhana dan dibagi dalam dua kelompok. Data yang terkumpul dianalisis secara statistik dengan menggunakan teknik MANOVA (Multivariate Analysis of Variance) pada taraf signifikansi a = 0.05. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data, penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa: (1) Model pendekatan taktik dan model pendekatan teknik memberikan pengaruh yang berbeda secara signifikan terhadap hasil belajar keterampilan teknik dasar bolavoli, keterampilan bermain bolavoli, dan keterampilan berpikir kritis; (2) Model pendekatan taktik memiliki pengaruh yang lebih efektif terhadap hasil belajar keterampilan teknik dasar bolavoli dibandingkan dengan model pendekatan teknik; (3) Model pendekatan taktik memberikan pengaruh yang lebih efektif terhadap prestasi belajar bolavoli dibandingkan dengan model pendekatan teknik; dan (4) Model pendekatan taktik memiliki pengaruh yang lebih efektif terhadap keterampilan berpikir kritis dibandingkan dengan model pendekatan teknik. KATA KUNCI: Model pendekatan taktik dan teknik, implementasi pembelajaran, permainan bolavoli, siswa sekolah menengah pertama, serta kualitas pengajaran dan pembelajaran.ABSTRACT: “The Model Implementation of Technical and Tactical Approaches in Volleyball Instruction of Physical Education on Junior High School Students”. The present study is confined to examining whether technical and tactical approaches that may be implemented as the alternative models to develop a volleyball instruction quality. The experimental method with randomized post-test of two groups design was employed in this study. The data collected from subjects consisting of sixty of Junior High School 4 Bandung’s students who were randomly selected and categorized into two groups. All data obtain was statistically analysed by adopting MANOVA (Multivariate Analysis of Variance) at a = 0.05 significance level. Abstract

RINGKASAN: Kajian tentang pencerita lisan/penglipur lara Melayu di Nusantara sering diperkatakan dan dihujahkan oleh pelbagai pihak, sama ada sarjana tempatan mahupun Barat, khususnya dalam bidang kesusasteraan tradisional. Makalah ini bakal membicarakan tentang dua orang tokoh pencerita lisan, atau lebih dikenali sebagai penglipur lara. Penglipur lara yang pertama memakai gelaran “Awang Batil”, yang mendiami di Kampung Pokok Sena, Chuping, Perlis, Malaysia. Pencerita kedua bernama “Pura Taman”. Pencerita kedua ini pula agak unik kerana beliau adalah Orang Asli dari suku kaum Jakun di Kampung Sungai Mok, Kuala Rompin, Pahang, Malaysia. Penulisan ini ditampilkan secara perbandingan untuk melihat bentuk persamaan dan juga kelainan yang ditonjolkan oleh dua orang pencerita berkenaan. Objektif penulisan ini ialah untuk mendokumentasikan proses kemunculan seseorang pencerita dan juga menganalisis secara mendalam peranan yang dimainkan oleh mereka dalam konteks persekitaran yang didiami. Sebagai sandaran perbincangan, pandangan daripada G.L. Koster (1997) tentang “peranan penceritaan” digunakan untuk melihat fungsi pencerita atau penglipur lara yang dimaksudkan itu. Berasaskan objektif ini dapat diketahui nanti, sama ada dua penglipur lara itu melalui proses kemunculan serta berkongsi peranan yang sama ataupun masing-masing menampilkan kelainan yang tersendiri. Kajian sebegini sangat signifikan dalam era kontemporari, memandangkan budaya penglipur lara semakin dilupakan oleh generasi kini di Malaysia.KATA KUNCI: Penglipur lara, Awang Batil, Pura Taman, perbandingan, mendokumentasikan, serta proses kemunculan dan peranan pencerita.ABSTRACT: “Awang Batil and Pura Taman: A Comparative Study of Malay and Orang Asli Storytellers Tradition”. The study of oral storytellers of Malays in Malay Archipelago is often spoken and argued by various parties whether local and Western scholars, especially in the field of traditional literature.This paper will discuss about the two figures oral storytellers, or better known as “penglipur lara” in Malay language. The first storyteller has used the title of “Awang Batil”, who inhabited in Kampung Pokok Sena, Chuping, Perlis, Malaysia. The second narrator named “Pura Taman”. The second narrator is quite unique, because he is aboriginal tribes of Jakun in the Kampung Sungai Mok, Kuala Rompin, Pahang, Malaysia. Writing is shown in comparison to the similarities and also differentiations highlighted by these two storytellers. The objective of this paper is to document the process of the emergence of a storyteller and also analyzes in depth the role played by them in the context of its milieu. As a backup of discussion, the views of G.L. Koster (1997) on “The Role of Storytelling” are used to view the narrator or storyteller who relates it. Based on these objectives, it can be seen whether these two storytellers through the process of emergence and sharing the same role or each featuring a distinctive difference. Abstract

ABSTRACT: The percentage of male in field like Early Childhood Education (ECE) is low compared to other manly job. But, recently, the position of male in preschool education has been a trending topic of research among academic societies. The ways through which government attempt to encourage or maximized the incidence of male students taking Early Childhood Education course are founded on a thorough understanding of the reasons why they choose the course and the challenges. Employing a number of semi-structured interviews, the present qualitative study endeavours to seek Early Childhood Education students’ viewpoints on the reasons, challenges, and views of taking this course. Researchers used two male students, who fit the criteria chosen through purposive sampling. Based on the findings of the study, themes found for the reasons: interest, conditional support, demands, and basic knowledge; followed by themes for the challenges faced: normal, affect performance, family, and feedback differences in gender; and themes for their perception on Early Childhood Education course: business and attitude. The implications of these findings can be helpful for academic societies seeking to prioritize the role of male in Early Childhood Education setting in Malaysia.KEY WORD: Male, early childhood, reason, challenge, attitude, academic societies, and role of male in early childhood education.RINGKASAN: “Refleksi Kritikal mengenai Pengalaman Lelaki dalam Pendidikan Awal Kanak-kanak di Malaysia”. Peratusan lelaki dalam bidang Pendidikan Awal Kanak-kanak adalah rendah bila dibandingkan dengan bidang kerjaya lainnya. Tetapi, baru-baru ini, kedudukan lelaki di dalam pendidikan prasekolah adalah satu topik yang hangat dalam penyelidikan di kalangan masyarakat akademik. Pihak kerajaan telah berusaha untuk menggalakkan atau memaksimakan penglibatan pelajar lelaki untuk mengambil kursus Pendidikan Awal Kanak-kanak melalui kefahaman yang mendalam tentang sebab-sebab pemilihan kursus dan cabaran. Menggunakan beberapa temubual separa berstruktur, kajian kualitatif ini telah mendapatkan pandangan pelajar Pendidikan Awal Kanak-kanak mengenai sebab-sebab, cabaran, dan pandangan mereka untuk mengikuti kursus ini. Penyelidik menggunakan dua pelajar lelaki, yang sesuai dengan kriteria yang dipilih melalui persampelan bertujuan. Berdasarkan dapatan kajian ini, tema dijumpai untuk sebab ialah: faedah, sokongan bersyarat, keperluan, dan pengetahuan asas; kemudian diikuti dengan tema untuk cabaran yang dihadapi: normal, menjejaskan prestasi, keluarga, dan perbezaan maklum balas dalam jantina; serta tema untuk persepsi mereka pada kursus Pendidikan Awal Kanak-kanak: perniagaan dan sikap. Abstract

ABSTRACT: Educational technology has a tremendous capacity to provide best possible output in the process of education for both teachers and the students. Proactive use of technology is not the total answer to inequities and inadequacies that exist in educational programmes and teacher training, but it can provide at least a partial solution by strengthening a school ability to receive, transmit, and exchange information. E-learning is most expedient way in learning and training without having to go to school and training centers. E-learning is very much helpful for the teachers to their professional development. Keeping the importance of e-learning, an attempt has made through this study by the researchers to know the attitude of Higher Secondary School teachers towards e-learning in Purulia District of West Bengal, India. The present study was based on survey method, particularly the normative survey research method. One hundred fifty teachers (both male and female) teaching in Arts and Science’s streams were taken as representative sample of the whole population. An attitude scale was used for collecting the data. The means of both groups were tested for significance of difference by using “CR” test. It was found that the attitude of Higher Secondary School teachers of Purulia District of West Bengal, India is neither more favourable nor unfavourable towards e-learning, i.e. satisfactory or average in attitude towards e-learning.KEY WORD: Attitude, school teacher and student, professional development, school ability, electronic learning, and transmit and exchange information.RINGKASAN: “Sikap Guru-guru Sekolah Menengah Atas terhadap E-Learning di Distrik Purulia, Bengal Barat, India”. Pendidikan teknologi memiliki kapasitas yang luar biasa untuk memberikan hasil terbaik dalam proses pendidikan bagi para guru dan siswa. Penggunaan proaktif teknologi bukanlah jawaban total terhadap ketimpangan dan kekurangan yang ada dalam program pendidikan dan pelatihan guru, tetapi dapat memberikan setidaknya solusi parsial dengan memperkuat kemampuan sekolah untuk menerima, mengirimkan, dan pertukaran informasi. E-learning adalah cara yang paling bijak dalam pembelajaran dan pelatihan tanpa harus pergi ke sekolah dan pusat pelatihan. E-learning sangat banyak membantu guru dalam pengembangan profesi mereka. Menjaga pentingnya e-learning, sebuah upaya telah dilakukan melalui studi ini oleh peneliti untuk mengetahui sikap guru Sekolah Menengah Atas terhadap e-learning di Distrik Purulia, Bengal Barat, India. Penelitian ini didasarkan pada metode survei, khususnya metode penelitian survei normatif. Seratus lima puluh guru (baik laki-laki maupun perempuan) yang mengajar di bidang Seni dan Sains diambil sebagai sampel yang representatif dari seluruh populasi. Skala sikap digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data. Min kedua kelompok diuji untuk signifikansi perbedaan dengan menggunakan tes “CR”. Abstract

RINGKASAN: Penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui gaya pola pengasuhan orangtua dalam memahami nilai-nilai karakter yang dikembangkan pada anak usia dini, serta untuk mengidentifikasi permainan tradisional yang dimainkan oleh orangtua pada anak usia dini. Subjek penelitian adalah 30 orangtua dan 30 anak usia dini 4-5 tahun. Metode kajian adalah penelitian kualitatif naturalistik. Temuan penelitian menunjukan bahwa orangtua dominan dalam mendidik anak usia dini dengan gaya pola asuh demokratis; nilai-nilai karakter yang muncul secara konsisten didalam permainan tersebut adalah kejujuran, disiplin, toleransi dan cinta damai, percaya diri, mandiri, hormat dan sopan-santun, dan tanggungjawab; serta jenis bermain yang diterapkan dalam permainan tradisional adalah bermain kooperatif, yaitu permainan yang dilakukan oleh lebih dari dua orang anak dan antar anak bermain sesuai perannya. Penelitian juga menunjukan bahwa konsistensi gaya pola asuh orangtua sangat membantu perkembangan pembentukan nilai-nilai karakter pada anak usia dini; waktu yang ideal untuk menanamkan dan mengembangkan nilai-nilai karakter adalah usia 0-5 tahun; serta permainan tradisional, sebagai warisan budaya nenek-moyang bangsa Indonesia, harus dilestarikan oleh orangtua dan diajarkan kepada anak usia dini di rumah dengan suasana santai, hangat, komunikatif, dan bersahabat, serta peralatan dan bahan permainan yang murah, berada di sekitar rumah, dan aman bagi anak usia dini.KATA KUNCI: Gaya pola asuh orangtua, pembentukan karakter, demokratis, permainan tradisional, bermain kooperatif, dan anak usia dini. ABSTRACT: “Parenting Styles of Parents for Character Building Through Application of Traditional Games in Early Childhood, 4 – 5 Years Old”. This study was to determine the pattern of parenting styles, to understand the values of characters that are developed in early childhood, as well as to identify the games traditionally played by parents to early childhood. The subjects were 30 parents and 30 children aged 4-5 years early. Qualitative research method is naturalistic study. The findings show that parents educate dominant early childhood are democratic parenting style; the values of the characters that appear consistently in the game is honesty, discipline, tolerance and love of peace, confidence, independence, respect and courtesy, and responsibility; as well as the kind of play that is applied in the traditional game is played cooperatively, the games carried by more than two children, and among the players play the role of the appropriate role. Abstract

ABSTRACT: Leadership in general is a process to influences the human activities, which has connection with what they need to do to achieve the organisation’s objectives. Meanwhile, leadership research has taken different perspectives: leader traits, behaviours, and the influences of situational characteristics on leader effectiveness, for example, have all been studied. This study was performed to obtain the relationship between the elements of leadership among administrators at the polytechnic in Malaysia. A total of 102 administrators who have been involved in this study. Data were collected using a set of instruments to measure the elements of leadership. Data were analyzed using the SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 21. The findings of the analysis of structural equation indicates that Strategic Thinking, Vision and Mission, Rewards, Personality, and Innovative Thinking have had significantly high correlation between each other. The findings show also that the elements of Strategic Thinking and Rewards influenced in developing the Vision and Mission of the TVE (Technical and Vocational Education). In addition, the Personality has also a significant relationship with the elements of Rewards and Innovative Thinking. As a leader in TVE institutions, it is necessary for the leaders to practice the effective leadership style as well as the realization of education and training systems in line with industry requirements and the current market.KEY WORD: Technical and vocational education, structural equation modelling, strategic thinking, vision and mission, rewards, personality, and innovative thinking.RINGKASAN: “Pengaruh Kepimpinan dalam Pendidikan Teknik dan Vokasional”. Kepimpinan secara amnya adalah satu proses untuk mempengaruhi kegiatan manusia, yang mempunyai kaitan dengan apa yang mereka perlu lakukan untuk mencapai matlamat organisasi. Sementara itu, penyelidikan kepimpinan telah mengambil perspektif yang berbeza: ciri-ciri pemimpin, tingkah-laku, dan pengaruh ciri-ciri situasi pada keberkesanan mengenai pemimpin, sebagai contoh, semuanya telah dikaji. Kajian ini dilaksanakan untuk mendapatkan hubungan di antara elemen-elemen kepimpinan dalam kalangan pentadbir di politeknik Malaysia. Sejumlah 102 orang pentadbir telah terlibat dalam kajian ini. Data telah dikumpulkan menggunakan satu set instrumen untuk mengukur elemen kepimpinan tersebut. Data telah dianalisis menggunakan perisian SPSS 21. Hasil analisis persamaan struktur menunjukkan bahwa Pemikiran Strategik, Visi dan Misi, Ganjaran, Personaliti, dan Pemikiran Inovatif mempunyai korelasi signifikan yang tinggi antara satu sama lain. Dapatan kajian juga menunjukan bahawa unsur Pemikiran Strategik dan Ganjaran mempengaruhi dalam membangunkan Visi dan Misi PTV (Pendidikan Teknik dan Vokasional). Di samping itu, Personaliti juga mempunyai hubungan yang signifikan dengan unsur Ganjaran dan Pemikiran Inovatif. Abstract

RINGKASAN: Upaya dosen untuk melakukan inovasi pembelajaran, yang bertujuan untuk menciptakan keaktifan, kemampuan mahasiswa dalam memecahkan masalah, dan bekerjasama melalui model pembelajaran berbasis portofolio adalah sejalan dengan filsafat konstruktivisme. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh model pembelajaran portofolio terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa di STKIP-PGRI (Sekolah Tinggi Keguruan dan Ilmu Pendidikan – Persatuan Guru Republik Indonesia) Lubuklinggau. Jenis penelitian adalah eksperimen murni dengan menggunakan dua sampel, yaitu kelas VI-C sebagai sampel eksperimen dan kelas VI-D sebagai sampel kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik tes yang berbentuk essay. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah non parametris dengan menggunakan uji median, dikarenakan data tidak berdistribusi normal. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh penggunaan model pembelajaran berbasis portofolio terhadap hasil belajar mahasiswa pada matakuliah Sejarah Pendidikan di Indonesia. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari analisis pos-tes hasil belajar mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen yang menghasilkan rata-rata nilai 64.76 dan kelas kontrol 48.65. Hasil kemampuan kelas eksperimen juga lebih baik dari kelas kontrol. Begitu juga jika dilihat dari peningkatan menurut nilai ternormalisasi (N-gain), hasil belajar mahasiswa pada kelas eksperimen 0.88 dan kelas kontrol 0.62. KATA KUNCI: Model pembelajaran berbasis portofolio, hasil belajar, dosen dan mahasiswa, filsafat konstruktivisme, dan matakuliah sejarah pendidikan di Indonesia.ABSTRACT: “The Influence of Portfolio-Based Learning Model towards Student Learning Outcomes at the STKIP PGRI Lubuklinggau”. The efforts of lecturer to innovate learning, which aims to create the activity, students’ ability to solve problems, and work through the model-based learning portfolio are in accordance with the philosophy of constructivism. The research objective was to describe the influence of learning model portfolios towards learning outcomes of students at the STKIP-PGRI (College of Teacher Training and Education – Indonesian Teachers Association) Lubuklinggau. This type of research is pure experimentation using two samples, namely class VI-C as the experimental sample and class VI-D as the control sample. Data collection was using test techniques in the form of an essay. Data analysis technique used is by using the non-parametric median test, because the data are not normally distributed. Based on the results of this study concluded that there is influence of the use of portfolio based-learning models on learning outcomes of students in the course of Education History in Indonesia. It can be seen from the analysis of student results on the post-test of experimental class that generates an average value of 64.76 and 48.65 for the control class. Results of experimental class capabilities are also better than the control class.
