Abstract

Abstract: This research aimed to improve critical thinking skills of college students through scientific approach in Learning Neuroscience. This research was classroom action research. This action research was carried out in 2 cycles. Every cycle consists of four steps: planning, implementing, observing, and reflecting. The collecting data technique used observation which was conducted at the first semester year 2017/2018. The subjects of this research were 36 college students of PG PAUD study programs of third semester year 2017/2018 who are taking Neuroscience course. The result showed that critical thinking skills in the first cycle has average 78,80, then in the second cycle improve into (average 84,50). The result indicated that scientific approach effectively improved critical thinking skills of college students’ in Neuroscience Course, thus graduated students of PG PAUD become professional teachers of PG PAUD in conducting teaching activity.Keywords: scientific approach, critical thinking

Abstract

Abstract: Semantic mapping has been demonstrated as practical teaching and learning technique for students at all grade levels. However, its use for speaking class has been relatively unexplored. The objective of this study is to investigate the influence of semantic mapping as a technique to improve students’ speaking ability. The research design of this study was quasi experimental design. The population comprised the seventh grade students of SMP Taba Renah, Musi Rawas in the academic year of 2015/2016 and the sample consisted of 44 students. The data were collected via test, observation and interview. In analyzing the data, for the pre-test it was found that there were not significant differences in speaking competence and its components in experimental and control class because P > 0.05. For the post-test, it was found that for total speaking competence P-value is 0.018, for vocabulary in speaking P-value is 0.001, for fluency in speaking P-value is 0.033, for pronunciation in speaking P-value is 0.060, and for grammar in speaking P-value is 0.348. So, there were significant differences in experimental & control class in vocabulary and fluency aspects because P < 0.05 but there were not significant difference in pronunciation and grammar aspects because P > 0.05. The finding shows that semantic mapping as technique is effective to be implemented in teaching English to improve students’ speaking ability, especially in vocabulary and fluency aspects but it is not in pronunciation and grammar

Abstract

Abstract: The purpose of the study is to describe the ability of PAUD Witri I Bengkulu City in the preparation of planning in teaching (RPPH) curriculum 2013. Types of the research used in the research si descriptive quantitative. The population in the study were PAUD Terpadu Witri I teachers Bengkulu City, the sample of the study was the total sample or sample population of all teachers (13 people) PAUD Terpadu Witri I teachers Bengkulu City, because the population less than one hundred. The results of the research are; the preparation of planning in teaching (RPPH) complied by PAUD Terpadu Witri I teachers Bengkulu City curriculum 2013 Is on the category Good enaough, but there are some things that are still lacking. Supporting advice is; there are some things that need improvement in the activities of planning in teaching (RPPH) curriculum 2013, should by fully referring to the curriculum 2013, especially in the application of scientific learning approach.Keywords: Teaching tools, curriculum 2013

Abstract

Abstrak: Pertidaksamaan satu peubah ialah bentuk matematika dengan satu peubah real yang disertai relasi urutan <, >, , dan . Peubah ialah lambang yang digunakan untuk mewakili unsur suatu himpunan. Peubah real ialah lambang yang digunakan untuk menyatakan suatu bilanga real. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kesalahan peserta PLPG dalam menyelesaikan soal pertidaksamaan. Metode penelitian yang dilakukan adalah menggunakan penelitian ex post facto. Analisis Kesalahan menggunakan panduan analisis, dan mengelompokkan kesalahan ke dalam kesalahan berupa: fakta, konsep, operasi atau prinsip. Subjek penelitian adalah peserta PLPG tahap 2 dan tahap 3 dengan jumlah total 60 orang. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data adalah lembar pretes yang memuat pertidaksamaan yang terdiri dari soal 3a, dan 3b. Hasil penelitian adalah sebagai berikut: untul soal: a). Ada 38,33 % peserta tidak menjawab, ada 20 % peserta menjawab benar, ada 41,67 % peserta menjawab salah. Untuk soal b) 11,67 % tidak menjawab, 23,33 % menjawab benar, 65 % menjawab salah. Berdasarkan hal tersebut dilakukanlah analisis terhadap kesalahan peserta PLPG dalam menyelesaikan soal pertidaksamaan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa untuk soal 3.a) 100 % peserta salah operasi, untuk soal 3. b) 100% peserta salah prinsip

Abstract

Abstract: This study was aimed to describe the students' fear perceptions toward the guidance and counseling teachers and to describe the effectiveness of reframing strategy in counseling group to help the reduction of students' fear toward the school counselor of SMA Negeri 1 Central Bengkulu. This study used quasi experimental research method with one group pre-test post-test design. The subject of this study was five students who were selected by purposive proportional sampling which have the highest score at the students' fear toward counselor' questionnaire. The analysis result showed that the students' fear toward the school counselor has deacreased after they got a counseling group by using reframing strategy, it could be seen on the result of processing data with the difference test score was z = -2.041, then p<0.05, sowas rejected. It means that the reframing strategy in counseling group was effective to decrease the students' fear toward the school counselor.Keywords: Reframing strategy, Students' fear toward the guidance and counseling teacher.

Abstract

Abstrak: Tujuan penelitian ini secara umum adalah untuk mengetahui pengelolaan keterampilan kaligrafi sebagai kegiatan unggulan di Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Hidayatul Qomariyah. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data yaitu wawancara, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Subjek penelitian meliputi pengelola, ketua asrama, tutor keterampilan kaligrafi. Untuk membuktikan keabsahan data, dilakukan pengecekan data menggunakan triangulasi subjek, triangulasi waktu, dan trianggulasi teknik. Data dianalisis melalui tiga tahap yaitu reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian, menemukan: (1) perencanaan, tidak adanya perencanaan keterampilan secara tertulis. (2) Pondok Pesantren Salafiyah Hidayatul Qomariyah tidak memiliki struktur organisasi keterampilan kaligrafi. (3 tutor memotivasi santri dalam keterampilan kaligrafi dengan cara memberikan hadiah seperti alat- alat melukis dan dengan cara menceritakan pengalaman dan prestasi yang pernah didapatkan tutor (4) pembinaan, fungsi pengawas dalam pembinaan keterampilan kaligrafi dimaksudkan agar santri tetap bersemangat belajar menulis kaligrafi. Proses layanan dalam pembinaan keterampilan kaligrafi meliputi pemberikan nasehat, peringatan, dan hukuman. (5) Pada tahap penilaian pengelola, pengurus dan tutor mengadakan rapat untuk membicarakan hasil ujian semester dan pencapaiannya. Standar yang digunakan dalam penilaian keterampilan kaligrafi menggunakan panduan penilaian penulisan kaligrafi. (6), pengembangan keterampilan kaligrafi meliputi menyiapkan triplek, dan kaca supaya santri belajar melukis di triplek, dan kaca tersebut yang hasilnya nanti dapat dijual.

Abstract

Abstract: The aim of this research was to find out the types of word formation in medical terms in The Jakarta Post?s health articles. This research was designed as a descriptive qualitative research. The population of this research was all medical terms in The Jakarta Post newspaper. The sample of this research was medical terms found in seven health articles in The Jakarta Post newspaper which were published from June until December 2016. Documentation was used as main instrument in this research. The data was collected based on the 10 types of word formation proposed by Yule (2010). The result of this study showed, there are 55 data of derivation, 20 data of compounding, 16 data of borrowing, 11 data of acronym, 2 data of clipping, and one data of backformation. It can be concluded, there are six types of word formation found in seven health articles. Further, there is no coinage, blending, conversion, and multiple processes were found in medical terms in seven health articles in The Jakarta Post?s newspapers.Keywords: Word Formation, Medical Terms

Abstract

Abstract: The objective of this research is to: (1) to described of emotional intelligence at SMKN 2 Bengkulu, (2) to described aggressive behavior at SMKN 2 Bengkulu, (3) to described correlations between emotional intelligence with aggressive behavior students of ten grade TM (Teknik Mesin) at SMKN 2 Bengkulu. This research was conducted at SMKN 2 Bengkulu with sample =50 students from total population (110) of students ten grade TM SMKN 2 Bengkulu . The method that used in this research was quantitative correlations design, analytical techniques that used are correlations product moment from Karl Pearson. The result of this research were found a strong negative correlations (with score rxy = -0,709) between emotional intelligence with aggressive behavior of adolescent student of ten grade TM (Teknik Mesin) at SMKN 2 Bengkulu.Keywords: emotional intelligence, aggressive behavior

Abstract

Abstract. Deviant behavior in Indonesia nation occurs in almost all aspect of life and in all institution whether informal, formal, or not formal. The cause of the problem is that ethics have not been applied yet. Ethics of a nation is rooted on nation character values. These values need to be cultivated to overcome the nation problem. Values cultivation can be conducted through nation character education. Nation character education can use learning resources because learning is an interaction between students and learning resources. Varying learning resources include messages, persons, materials, tools, techniques, and character with considering several aspects. Utilization of these learning resources is important to provide variation in character education learning process. Therefore learning process becomes easier, fascinating, fun, and undull. The purpose of this article was to study learning resources that are appropriate in cultivating student character. The study method used was literature review. Result of the study can be concluded that the use of learning resources is effective to cultivate character values to students.Keywords: Character values, learning resources
