Abstract

This writing deals with the motivation of users to reference service in BPAD Riau Province in 2011. It focuses on answering two question: 1) how users are motivated to use reference service, and 2) how far the users need the reference collections. Thus, motivation is the variable of the analysis and the users are the subvariable, while the indicator is viewed intrinsically and extrinsically. This analysis has 124 persons by applying qualitative descriptive analysis.

Abstract

A work, particularly literary work consists of many interesting elements to analyze. It's true for I have .figured out that "The Lottery" written by Shirley Jackson, is a rich work so that I can explore about many things from this work In this case, particularly I focus on analyzing the work dealing with symbols and ironies. The most ironic element found is the ritual lottery itself Genereally, most people who get lottery are lucky because they usually get gift or other lucky thing. Ironically, in this story, the person who gets the lottery is stoned to death.

Abstract

Information system is a combination of information technology and the persons who use the technology to support the operati on and management Asn an institution to provide and collect information, a library has important role as tools oflearning which provide information to the whole users. Dealing with that, this analysis aims to figure out the perception of the users on the usage of Online Public Catalogue (OPAC) in information system oflibrary in (SIPRUS) STAIN Jember. This analysis is study case analysis involving 3000 library members of STAIN Jember Iibraiy. It has 42 samples and questionaire is used and data is analyze d statitic ally by applying percentage test technique.

Abstract

As information institution which develops fast, libraiy shows its development from its application of information technology, starting from conventional library, automated library to digital library. The usage and development of digital library should use software as tools of collecting, processing and distributing processes used by users. There are some digital library softwru·es from the conunercial ones up to the open source. Considering the high prize of commercial software and,the limited budget of a library, it needs reconsideration and wise choice. The appearance of OSS (Open Source Sofrware) which is free can be good solution for libraries such as Ganeha Digital Library, Greenstone, DSpace, and Eprints in creating and developing digital library.

Abstract

In Malay society, a leader is an important aspect. For that reason, religion is used as guideline to determine good leader, in this case Islamic doctrine. The society awares that a leader has important role, that's why the motto "adat bersandi syara, dan syara' bersendikan kitabullah" is used which means the tradition would be based on religion and holy Qur'an.
