Abstract

An institution has an important supporting role ini the management of forest community. In general the institutional system for forest community adopts aself-management. It has a certain degree of influence on its members’ compliance to its regulation. It is expented to be able to provide solution to the problems of farmers.This study was intended to examine the institutional system of forest community. The institutional system refers to such aspect as regulation, guides, forms of agreement, decision masking, value system, institutional capacity and knowingthe level of successthathas beenachievedbya groupof farmersin the Durjela villagecommunity forest management. These results indicate that institutional forest farmer groups in the Durjela village formed from assistance programs and community desires. Institutional system Durjela Village farmer groups in the form of an agreement that is made of non-formal, Guidelines rooted in religion and local wisdom, decision making by consensus, the value system is characterized by the perception of the essence of life is good, working to make ends meet, oriented to future, the success of Durjela Village farmer groups included in the rate was due to the structural aspects, aspects of membership in the institutional and cultural aspects have not been entirely successful.

Abstract

Forest management in National Park area are related to community development in the buffer zone . This provided an opportunity for stakeholders which is the company 's to contributing in national park preservation by Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program. This study aims to determine the form and implementation of CSR programs that have been implemented in the buffer zone of Gunung Gede Pangrango National Park, and to know perception and satisfaction of the local community about CSR program at Sarongge Resort. The main program of CSR program is adoption tree, beside that there are also community empowerment program. The results showed that CSR programs in Sarongge Resort still in charity. CSR implemented through a partnership between companies and Green Radio. Public perception of the CSR program is moderate. The level of people's satisfaction of CSR programs are less satisfied .

Abstract

Implementation of research activities conducted in the area of Hope Island Thousand Islands National Park . The purpose of this research is ( i ) Identify the potential of tourism in Hope Island TNKpS , ( ii ) Identify the readiness of the community in the development of community-based ecotourism ( iii ) Developing a community-based ecotourism in the area of Hope Island TNKpS . Data on the public , managers and visitors obtained by distributing questionnaires and interviews . Respondent data retrieval community and visitors conducted by interview and questionnaire , sampling methods conducted by purposive sampling method . Purposive sampling method used to obtain data on natural resources and human resources at the Hope Island , while the data on perception , motivation , participation and public interest is taken by using the questionnaire . Meanwhile , the development of community-based ecotourism in Hope Island , formulated using SWOT analysis approach . Data were analyzed using SWOT table .Research results indicate that the potential for ecotourism resources contained in the Hope Island which can be used as a tourist attraction and cultural landscape of the Hope Island itself, from the readiness of the community , the majority of the community supports the development of ecotourism in Hope Island , based on the SWOT matrix , strategy higher in priority to the development of ecotourism activities in Hope Island is a strategy that combines the strengths and opportunities is developing a program of community-based ecotourism activities that combine the potential of nature and culture of Hope Island to attract visitors

Abstract

Human activity and environmental damage increased has led to high level of carbon emission in the atmosphere and led to the global warming. Reducing of carbon emission through sink program which requires estimation data of biomass carbon stock. The aim of this study to determine the potential of stand biomass carbon stock, necromass and litter. The study conducted from April-May 2013. Research location was executed in Dramaga Research Forest, Bogor. The results of this study indicate that potential of biomass carbon stock in Dramaga Research Forest were 225.51 ton biomass/ha and 105.99 ton carbon/ha (trees); 16.00 ton biomass/ha and 8.10 ton carbon/ha (poles); 19.11 ton biomass/ha and 8.98 ton carbon/ha (saplings); 2.01 ton biomass/ha and 0.94 ton carbon/ha (seedlings); 0.92 ton biomass/ha and 0.43 ton biomass/ha (undergrowth); 0.41 ton biomass/ha and 0.19 ton carbon/ha (necromass); 0.86 ton biomass/ha and 0.41 ton carbon/ha (litter). The species dominant for carbon stock are Pinus merkusii, Shorea guiso, Tectona grandis, Dipterocarpus trinervis, Shorea balangeran, Pterygota alata, Hopea mengarawan, Protium javanicum, Quercus sp. and Shorea leprosula.

Abstract

The objective of this study was to determine the amount of carbon in the surface soil that can be absorbed by the vegetations in the all area of Nusa Bangsa University (UNB). This research was conducted in the UNB’sarea with its boundary is equal limits of the UNB’s area thattotal area UNB’s is 12,082 m2. Data inventoried from UNB area is undergrowth class,little, middle and big tree class and also palmae class.The results of this study showed the amount of carbon absorbed on the surface vegetation in the UNB campus is at 61.8 tonnes of carbon which absorbed by the undergrowth class (diameter <2 cm), 59 species of woody plants (diameter> 2 cm) consisting of 284 individual and 7 types palmae group consisting of 94 individuals.

Abstract

  Kebun bibit rakyat (KBR) a program of the Ministry of Forestry to provide that is by planting the forest with forest trees and multipurpose trees spcies (MPTS) Corps who held in self management system by society groups, especially in rural areas. Result seeds kebun bibit rakyat used to rehabilitate of forest and land critical and activities greening activities.The purpose of this research is to find out perception, participation and involvement of the community in the rehabilitation of forest and land areas through the creation kebun bibit rakyat to the implementation and sustainable, independently knowing internal and external factors that influence the perception and participation knowing relation characteristic of farmers with perception and public participation in the activities of KBR.The Results of research conducted at the location of KBR in District Pamijahan Regency Bogor average respondent's perception of the four villages of development activities in the category KBR agreed by 53.15%. The level of participation of the majority of participants KBR in program planning activities is high ie 51.84% (63 respondents), the implementation phase has an average score of participants included in the category of participation high at 66.33% (63 respondents). Public Participation in the activities of participants in the District Pamijahan KBR is high at 70.58%, in the three study areas, namely in Cibitung Kulon village by 63.27%, amounting to 93.33% Ciasmara, Cibunian by 100.00%. In areas classified as Medium Pamijahan of 54.29% (25.71% is high only).
