Abstract

Introduction : The COVID-19 pandemic became one of the highest causes of death in early 2020. The spread is so fast and uncontrollable that it is the reason for many people to stay at home and avoid places with the highest spread, one of which is the hospital. In this condition, many people delay treatment, choose alternatives, and decide to no longer be in the hospital environment. This also applies to patients with chronic kidney failure, where sufferers are required to continue to take therapy to achieve a good quality of life. However, with the COVID-19 situation, most sufferers postpone therapy so they don't get infected. Compliance with therapy is very important for people with CKD to be able to achieve a good quality of life. This study aims to determine the relationship between compliance with hemodialysis therapy and the quality of life of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy during the COVID-19 period. Method: The research design used is descriptive correlational with a cross sectional approach. The sample in this study was a total sampling of 70 respondents. This study used the KDQL questionnaire to measure quality of life and The End-Stage Renal Disease Adherence Questionnaire (ESRD-AQ) questionnaire to measure adherence. The analysis used was bivariate analysis using the chi-square test. Results: Iit was found that 71.4% adhered to hemodialysis therapy and, 54.3% have a good quality of life. The statistical test results showed that there was a significant relationship between adherence to hemodialysis therapy and the quality of life of CKD patients where the p-value was 0.026 < α (0.05). Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between adherence and quality of life of CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis therapy. Nurses have an important role in motivating CKD patients to comply with hemodialysis therapy. Keywords: Hemodialysis Therapy, Adherence, Quality of Life, Chronic Kidney Disease.

Abstract

Introduction: Indonesia's health development still facing various challenges, one of which is the high incidence of stunting in children under five. Based on a preliminary study conducted in Perina Village, Jonggat District, Central Lombok Regency, mothers' knowledge and attitudes about caring for the first 1000 days of life (HPK) were still low. The low knowledge and attitude of mothers about nutrition in 1000 HPK can lead malnutrition conditions that occur since in the womb and early period after birth so it can affect growth and development problems in the future. The government has promoted the "1000 HPK Movement" as an effort to improve nutrition, but the problem of nutrition in society has not been optimally resolved. To support the government's program, it is necessary to conduct education as an effort to increase mothers' knowledge and attitudes about 1000 HPK.Methods: This research is a pre-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design. This research was conducted in Perina Village, Jonggat District, Central Lombok Regency in August 2022. The population in this study were all women of childbearing age (WUS) who live in Perina Village. The sample in this study were 30 respondents who were taken by purposive sampling technique with predetermined inclusion and exclusion criteria. The independent variable in this study was the education of 1000 HPK and the dependent variable was the knowledge and attitudes of WUS. The 1000 HPK education was carried out using the discourse method with leaflets as media. Pretest and posttest with questionnaires were given before and after education to measure the level of knowledge and attitudes of WUS about 1000 HPK. Data analysis used the Wilcoxon test in the SPSS 23 program. Results: There are differences in WUS knowledge and attitudes before and after treatment. From the results of the Wilcoxon test, the value of p = 0.000 was obtained for the knowledge variable and p = 0.001 for the attitude variable. Conclusion: There is an effect of education on WUS knowledge and attitudes about 1000 HPK. Education about 1000 HPK must be carried out regularly with a variety media to increase people's knowledge and attitudes as an effort to prevent stunting and other nutritional problems. Keywords: 1000 HPK, Education, Women of Childbearing Age (WUS).

Abstract

Introduction: Stigma and discrimination are more common among women and affect the development of coping skills for women with HIV. Research related to coping strategies for prisoners with HIV in prisons is still very limited. This study aimed to identify the positive coping methods used and the reasons for using these coping strategies in dealing with stigma and discrimination against female inmates with HIV.Methods: This research method is a qualitative descriptive phenomenological design. The population of this study was female inmates living with HIV with a total of eight participants. Sampling was done by purposive sampling technique. Data was collected through in-depth interviews and analyzed using the Colaizzi technique. Results: The results of the study found two themes: (1) don't care and stay away from people who cause stigma to avoid problems; (2) attract sympathy and be honest with others to lighten the burden on the mind. Conclusion: Indifference certainly does not always have positive but also negative implications such as the emergence of disputes or divisions and individualism among prisoners. Meanwhile, active coping such as telling the truth can improve prisoners' physical and psychological well-being. The development of intervention programs such as narrative enhancement and cognitive therapy (NECT), family therapy, spiritual emotional freedom technique (SELF), and HIV peer support groups in prisons to develop active coping for female inmates with HIV in facing internal and public stigma is urgently needed. Keywords: Coping, Correctional Setting, Discrimination Stigma, HIV.
