Abstract

Abstract: This study was conducted to describe the problem in this research is how efforts to improve reading comprehension through the use of cooperative learning model learnig start with a question on the fourth grade students of SD Negeri 7 Sekayu Musi Banyuasin. Solving the problem in this study is a cooperative learning model learnig start with a question that can lead students to be more active and focused on the subject matter provided through discussions that are conducted under the direction and guidance of teachers so that students are more quickly understand the subject matter and not easily saturated with activity learning. An increase in the students 'learning activities 60.00 in cycle 1 increased by 13.02 thus be 73.02 in cycle 2 and increase again 18.41 into 91.43 in cycle 3 students' reading comprehension ability of the average value of the initial test (pretest), namely 62.86 in the initial test (pretest) to 69.86 on the test cycle 1 with a percentage increase of 11.14%, increased again to 74.86 in cycle 2 with a percentage increase of 19.09, and increased again be 84.29 on the test cycle 3 with a percentage increase of 34.09%. Therefore, based on the results of the implementation of the PTK, the initial test (pretest), the first cycle, and secondly it can be concluded that the use of the learning model learning starts with a questio can improve the quality of learning both student learning activities and reading comprehension in the fourth grade students of SD Negeri 7 Sekayu District Banyuasin.

Abstract

Abstract: This study aims to determine whether there is a correlation between (1) reading and narrative writing skills, (2) vocabulary and narrative writing skills, (3) interest in reading and vocabulary together with the ability to write narrative. The sample in this study were 256 students. Sampling using simple random sampling technique. Variables studied that interest in reading, vocabulary and writing skills narration. Questionnaires use traditional data collection techniques and tests. The results show that (1) there is a significant relationship between reading and writing skills of narrative students, (2) a significant relationship between vocabulary and writing skills of narrative, and (3) the existence of a positive relationship between reading and vocabulary with the ability to write narrative. From these results it can be stated that together reading and vocabulary contribute to students' ability to write narrative.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and understand how the novel analysis in expressing the moral values and cultural values contained in Novel Kelabak Cinta Kelabu Karya Suhairi Rachmad. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method intended to obtain a picture of moral values and cultural values contained in the novel Kelopak Cinta Kelabu by Suhairi Rachmad. The data collected by way of documentation, then recorded in the paper work based on the moral values and cultural values contained in the novel, then analyzed based on the theory presented Nurgiyantoro and Ibn Miskawayh while cultural values are analyzed with the category of cultural values of koentjaningrat. The conclusion of this study is the entire category of moral values based on the theory presented by Ibn Miskawayh is contained in the novel Kelabak Cinta Kelabu by Suhairi Rachmad. While the category of cultural values based on the theory presented by Koentjaningrat entirely contained in the novel Kelabak Cinta Kelabu by Suhairi Rachmad. Implication of moral values and cultural values in the novel Kelopak Cinta Kelabu by Suhairi Rachmad can be implicated as a literary appreciation material in SMP class IX semester II.

Abstract

Abstract: Studies on the critical discourse was mostly done by the researchers, evidenced by the many theses and thesis using discourse analysis as "tools / scalpel" in his studies. This study aims to describe and understand how critical discourse analysis to reveal the ideology of newspaper editors "Sumatra Ekspres" in the rubric "Our view" through the elements on the macro structure, superstructure, and microstructure. This research is descriptive-qualitative method of critical discourse analysis of Teun A. Van Dijk models. Data were collected by means of documentation (clipping) then recorded in a working paper based on the macro structure, superstructure, and microstructure.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the ability to write poetry based on daily logs through the contextual learning model of students of class XII IPA Tamansiswa High School of Palembang. This research uses classroom action research type. The research data was taken through tests and nontes. Results of observation on the first cycle student activity percentage 56.97% and increased in cycle II to 79.55%. Increased 22.58%. Similarly with the results of learning activities cycle I, the average grade of 66.8% of students who have completed 17 students or 54.8%, which has not completed 14 students or 45.2%. Based on the results of reflection on the first cycle there are some things that need attention and improvement, then this research needs to proceed with the action cycle II to obtain the desired results. In the second cycle action the results achieved by the average student class 77.6 and all students have been completed or 100% of students have achieved the value of the established KKM. The conclusion of this research that based on the daily diary through contextual learning model can improve students' poetry writing ability and can be an alternative choice for teachers in learning to write poetry.

Abstract

Abstract: This research is motivated by the still level of the students ability to write text to speech. Tenth grade high school students 20 Palembang country through learning by using audio-based media?.In order to answer the problem formulation.This type of research (PTK). This study was conducted over two cycles each cycle condisting of four components: planning, implements, observation and reflection. The ability to write text to speech through audio-based media experience significant from one cycle to cycle two minimum completeness criteria (KKN) which has ben set at 75. The cycle of the 1941, average values obtained in cycle 65 while the two accumulated value of learning outcomes in 2339, the average 78. Based on the acquisition value of the second cycle there is an increasing and developing students abilities from oneth cycle to cycle two, the cycle of the two cycle average of 64.70%, average of 77.97%.

Abstract

This research is intended to improve students' ability in writing short stories. Writing literature at the University level should be applied to produce short stories of high aesthetic value. However, students have difficulty in putting their thoughts into writing. What's more, they encounter obstacles in developing creative ideas that are written down in literary writing. Therefore, the researcher targets that the idea of stories based on local wisdom of South Sumatra will facilitate students in the creative process of developing the story.Creative process is supported by the method of learning that is image streaming method in achieving the learning objectives of improving the ability to write a student in short story and the result of a collection of short stories based on local wisdom of South Sumatra. The long-term goal is to create independent, creative, and productive student characters in an effort to empower themselves to explore local wisdom of South Sumatera by writing short stories. This study was designed for one year through class action research procedures (PTK). The subject of this research is the students of semester VI c who follow the course of “Menulis Karya Sastra” at FKIP of PGRI University of Palembang in academic year 2016/2017 which consist of 27 students. To measure the level of success in mastering the ability to write short stories, students are given the task to write short stories at the end of the action learning activities as an evaluation.Based on the result which has been done at the stage of cycle I and cycle II students of class VIc University PGRI Palembang in writing, showed that the image streaming method can improve students' writing skills in short story. It is showed by the improvement of each stage starting from the first cycle phase which is 29.6% to 63% in cycle II.

Abstract

Abstract:This study aims to identify and describe the principles of politeness and maxims dominant. This study used descriptive qualitative method. Data sources are the host and speakers, containing data in the form of speech politeness principle, data collection techniques using techniques see, record and record, namely data analysis techniques of data analysis techniques Chaer. The results of this study are 149 utterances covering 41 speech emcee containing 24 speech politeness principle and resource containing politeness principle. Speech emcee dominant maxim is the maxim of praise (36.58%) and the speech resource that is the maxim of humility (41.66%).
