Abstract

This article discusses the firehose of falsehood propaganda that occurred in Indonesia, in the presidential and vice presidential elections in 2019, was a political campaign strategy that was know effective sufficient to achieve one goal such as what Donald Trump did in elections in the United States of America. The social media burgeoned was so enable for every candidate to use the firehose of falsehood propaganda technique without exception in Indonesia. In the case of the 2019 presidential and vice presidential elections, we can see how campaigns are used on social media such as the spread of hate speech, the emergence of the term kampret, cebong, anti-islam, boyolali,PKI, to hoaxs issues, and so on. What is conveyed contains a minimum of a work program to be achieved, this shows that the two pairs of candidates each use the firehose of falsehood propaganda technique to achieve their goals. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative which constructivism paradigm  which aims to describe a social phenomenon under study. The date collection method by interviewing, analyzing documentsand using the case study method in the 2019 presidential and vice presidential elections in Indonesia.

Abstract

Currently the hospital is being faced by the National Health Insurance disruptor which demands all hospitals to be aware of the emergence of competition and digitalization innovation in providing services and gaining public interest. Hospitals are required to adapt quickly to changes that occur in real time, but some of the roles and competencies of hospital public relations are not yet capable in carrying out their duties. This study aims to describe the role and competence of hospital public relations participants who took the competency test as many as 87 people during 2017-2019 from various regions in Indonesia. This qualitative case study descriptive study uses a mix of methods, surveys collect hospital's public relations personal data and in-depth interviews with representative subjects to get a complete picture. Data were analyzed using interactive techniques and triangulation techniques to validate data so that the data obtained would be more accurate. Strategic role refers to positions in structural and competence refers to the results of competency tests. The results of this study stated that most hospital public relations have a weak role and competence in dealing with the disruptive era. Education, experience and continuous training have a close relationship to become competent public relations. Efforts and solutions made in overcoming the existing reality are outlined in conclusions and suggestions.

Abstract

Vape is one example of the success of the results of technological developments in the field of e-cigarettes. At this time, vape users did not only come from men, but women had also become vape users, even among women wearing the hijab. The purpose of this study was to determine the understanding of the motives of women wearing hijabs in using a vape. This study uses a phenomenological method with a qualitative approach and based on an interpretive paradigm. This research uses George Kelly's Personal Construct theory to explain a person's picture of the world around him that has been obtained based on his involvement and interpretation of his life. The results of this study indicate that the meaning given to women wearing hijab is inseparable from their experience of wanting to quit conventional cigarettes and their desire to become an influencer in vaping activities. Also, they said that doing vaping activities and continuing to practice their belief in wearing the hijab was the main essence for him as a hijab vapers. For them, giving the same meaning to the hijab and vape makes does not make sense.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out the interpersonal communication of Banda Aceh Class IIA Prison Officers in Fostering Drug Prisoners and what are the supporting factors and inhibiting factors. The method used is the Qualitative Method, which is researching in depth with data collection techniques such as observation, interviews and documentation. This research used  Social Penetration theory, a process of relationship with others, where there are various adaptation processes between the two. The results of his research, the implementation of fostering prisoners with interpersonal communication approach in Class IIA Penitentiary Banda Aceh has been running as it should because the training carried out has followed existing procedures, although there are things that occur in prisons such as prisoners' indiscipline then that can be resolved with wise. Interpersonal communication in the coaching process that is carried out is also very appropriate, because a good coaching is also good communication. In conducting a coaching program, Banda Aceh Class IIA Prison certainly has supporting factors in the form of an adequate budget and the enthusiastic participation of fostered citizens in participating in coaching activities. There are also inhibiting factors, namely the lack of discipline from prisoners in carrying out training programs and the lack of prison staff.

Abstract

Education is something essential for human civilization. Formal education is usually carried out at school or university face-to-face. However, due to the COVID-19 worldwide pandemic in 2020, teaching and learning activities at all levels have turned into online classes. University is one education level that is affected by COVID-19. In this journal article, researchers will examine the effectiveness of online lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The theory used in this research is Walther's Computer Mediated Communication theory. This theory describes communication through computer media. Researchers will use positivistism paradigm with a qualitative approach and conduct observations, interviews with lecturers and students of the LSPR Institute Communication and Business and also study literature. The results of this study indicate that online lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic are less effective in terms of providing material but are quite acceptable given the limited space for people today. Based on the results of this study, we suggest that the government should further improve the quality of online lectures during the COVID-19 pandemic. The results obtained are also more satisfying.

Abstract

In Jakarta, the image of the Tegal warung which is synonymous with the lower-class consumer segmentation has slowly begun to change, since the Kharisma Bahari franchise has begun to offer a new concept in the tegal shop business. This shop has tried digital services to improve its consumer segmentation services. The research objective is to know the planning and communication strategy of the Warung Tegal Kharisma Bahari (WTKB) franchise network in increasing consumer segmentation. The research method is descriptive qualitative and the interview process is carried out through data classification and cross check theory. The results showed that there was a dynamic communication strategy of the WTKB franchise network in increasing the resources of WTKB actors. At the initial stage the pull model is used, then the push model, followed by the pass. Pull, by accommodating all the aspirations and inspirations of WTKB actors to find a solution, while push, a cultural change communication strategy sells through the 5R messages: Concise, Neat, Clean, Careful and Diligent. Communication barriers include cultural, educational and personal aspects. While the supporting aspect is the operational field of WTKB which has been attached to all levels of society as a traditional cheap food which is a cost-effective solution.

Abstract

Political public relations plays a strategic role in producing and distributing information to the public. Not only that, the ideal must arrive at the level of being able to create solidity and cohesiveness on all fronts. Along with the development of the times, political public relations is required to be adaptive, collaborative and flexible. To fulfill these three aspects, political public realtions must master the use of new media in order to support their work. This research focuses on the study of how political public relations uses new media as a means of supporting the delivery of information. The purpose of this research is to know how the implementation of the use of online media by political public relations within the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. The research method used by the author is a qualitative method in which data can be obtained through observation and interviews. From observations and interviews, this research results in the fact that political public relations has utilized new media to disseminate information quickly and thoroughly according to the characteristics of new media that can be accessed globally and efficiently.

Abstract

Currently, there are a lot of fashionpreneurs who are currently getting into business. The fashionpreneurs compete with each other to enter the world of business both online and offline.The purpose of this study was to describe the personality and personal branding of Ria Miranda as a fashionpreuner. The research paradigm uses constructivism with the method used in this research is descriptive qualitative data collection techniques in the form of observation, literature study and online searches through social media and online media. The data analysis technique used was data reduction, data cross-checking and conclusion checking. The results showed that Ria Miranda also has personal branding in which the 8 main components include Specialization (The Law of Specialization), Leadership (The Law of Leadership). Personality (The Law of Personality), Difference (The Law of Distinctiveness), Visible (The Law of Visibility), Unity (The Law of Unity), Firmness (The Law of Persistence) and Good Name (The Law of Goodwill). Women must be able to exert influence without forgetting their identity.
