Abstract

Aromatherapy lavender can increase alpha waves in the brain and this gelombang helps to create a relaxed state. Lavender essential oil can reduce anxiety. Type of quantitative descriptive research with Quasi Experimental approach with pretest-posttest design with two groups. The population and sample in this study were all postpartum mothers in Bonang II Public Health Center in June 2018 as many as 30 people with total sampling technique. The statistical test used was the Wilcoxon test. There were differences in perineal wound pain in postpartum mothers before and after lavender aromatherapy was given to the intervention group. There are differences in pain of perineal wounds in postpartum mothers before and after giving jasmine aromatherapy to the control group. There were differences in the reduction of pain in perineal wounds in the intervention group and in the control group. Lavender aromatherapy is more effective in reducing pain compared to jasmine aromatherapi.

The anxiety was measured using the HRSA questionnaire and analyzed using the Match Pair Test Wilcoxon test. Results: The results of analysis of 30 respondents, before given guided imagery therapy most of the respondents experienced moderate anxiety as many as 18 people (60%). After being given guided imagery treatment most respondents had light anxiety 17 people (56.7%). The result of the Wilcoxon test shows p-value 0.000 (p-value <0,05), Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. Conclusion: There is an influence of guided imagery on the anxiety level of third-trimester pregnant women in the Working Area of Mijen Health Center in Semarang City with a p-value of 0.000 which means that guided imagery can reduce the anxiety level of third-trimester pregnant women.

Abstract

Excess fluid is a major problem in patients with Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). CKD patients undergoing hemodialysis must keep limiting fluid intake during the interdialysis period so that excess fluid does not occur. Consequently limiting fluid intake arises thirst and will affect fluid restriction compliance. Management of thirst that can be done in hemodialysis patients, among others, suck ice cubes, gurgling the ripe water and gurgling with mouthwash, each of which has a different action against patients thirst. The purpose of this study was to compare the three interventions "thirst management", namely sipping ice cubes, gargling ripe water and gargling with mouthwash against patient thirst. This study was an experimental study in 27 samples of CKD patients who underwent hemodialysis at Roemani Muhammadiyah Hospital in Semarang divided into 3 groups with each group 9 samples. The results showed that the duration of holding thirst for the group sipping on ice cubes averaged 93 minutes, the gurgling group of ripe water averaged 55 minutes and the average length of time holding the thirst group who gurgling with mouthwash was 69.71 minutes. There was no significant difference in the duration of holding thirst after sucking on ice cubes and gargling ripe water, and gargling with mouthwash (ρ value 0.061). Sipping ice cubes can fight the longest thirst compared to gargling ripe water or gargling with mouthwash. The recommendations of this study are expected to intervene to sipping ice cubes, gargling ripe water and gargling with mouthwash can be used for thirst management in hemodialysis patients.  Hemodialysis patients can choose interventions to reduce the thirst that is most appropriate.

Abstract

Background: Reducing salt care & reducing fluid intake is one of the efforts to prevent fluid imbalance in patients. The increase in the prevalence of events that occur in hemodialysis patients is caused by various factors, one of which is inaccuracy in doing therapy. Self Management Dietary Counseling (SMDC) aims to increase patient knowledge and participate in health decision making to improve patient compliance and clinic outcome. Purposes: Knowing the effect of Self Management Dietary Counseling (SMDC) on the value of sodium in hemodialysis patients. Methode: Quasy Experiment, pretest-post-test design, 60 samples consisted of 3 groups. Sampling using a random sampling technique. Result: the group treated with SMDC has a p-value <0.050, while the non-treated group has a p value> 0, 050. Conclusion: Self Management Dietary Counseling has an effect on the value of sodium in hemodialysis patients. This study recommends that nurses apply SMDC to each hemodialysis patient to improve the value of sodium.

Abstract

Background : Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH) is a disease enlargement or hypertrophy of the prostate. Each surgery will arise as a result of wound incision procedures. Based  on  pre-study  post  operative  patients  with  benign  prostate hyperplasia in Dr.H Soeowndo Kendal General Hospital 4 out of 5 patients said that after surgery they experienced pain around the post operative .These wounds will stimulate the pain response Handling of non-pharmacological that can be done is by Benson relaxation therapy. The objective of this research there is an effect of Benson relaxation technique on a scale of postoperative pain in patients with Benign Prostate Hyperplasia at RSUD dr. H Soewondo Kendal. Methods : Design Research use quasi experiment. designs  with  pre  and  post-test  without a control  sample  with  32  people.  Relaxation  Benson  techniques are done taxable income provision with analgesic duration of 8 hours.  And  after before  given  relaxation  techniques  Benson  carried  measurement scale  with a numeric  pain  rating  scale. Result : Results  of  Statistics Wilcoxon  Sign  Rank  test  with  confidence level of 95% (α = 0.05) and obtained p value 0.000 < 0.05. Conclusion : the result of this research there is an effect of benson relaxation technique on a scale of postoperative pain in patients with Benign Prostat Hyperplasia at RSUD dr. H Soewondo Kendal.
