Abstract

The economic value of a product is not only determined by the raw materials and production process, but it is also determined by creativity and innovation. Creative industry is one of the development concept based on creativity that could potentially increase the economic growth and social welfare. The concept of creative industry itself is creativity-based activities that affect the economy and welfare of the community, where the small industries such as handicrafts is currently widely scattered in various parts of Kota Mataram. The craft center located in Kota Mataram, are cukli, gold / silver, precious stones, weaving, pearl, songket, wood crafts / masks, craft souvenirs and many others. This craft has its own role in the development of the regional economy. The existence of product improvement and creativity that arise in the community makes the creative industries sector in Kota Mataram has an important role in the economic development of the city. The results showed that handicraft producers / entrepreneurs of cukli, gold-pearl, silver, and wood or mask in Kota Mataram has conducted product improvement in various aspects such as  functional aspects, aspects of the form until the production aspects. There are several contributing factors for craft producers / entrepreneurs, namely the existence of venture capital assistance either from the bank, the government, even foreign capital; the availability of raw materials, and skilled labor. While the inhibiting factors include the difficulty to improve the quality if the workforce owned is not appropriate in terms of quality, technological limitations in the production process, and the instability of the economy that affect the purchasing power of producers / entrepreneurs to raw material quality. Abstract

This study aims at analyzing: 1)  the effect of mental accounting on placement of funds  for working capital in small- and middle-scale business, 2) the effect of  placement of funds  for working capital on company performance in small-and middle-scale business, and 3) the effect of mental accounting on company performance through placement of funds  for working capital in small- and middle-scale business.The population of this study was all the small- and middle-scale businesses in Lombok Island. Samples were collected by using judgment sampling of non probability sampling. The samples taken were the small- and middle-scale businesses of pottery industry which have exported their goods. The respondents were the managers and owners of small- and middle-scale businesses. The method of data analysis employed in this study was Generalized Structured Component Analysis.                The finding of this study showed that  mental accounting is rational by nature and have significant effects on company performance through placement of funds for working capital in small-and middle-scale business.This phenomenon is grounded from the fact that most managers and owners of those small- and middle-scale businesses are men who are on their productive age, and have more than 10 years of experience.  The placement of funds for working capital is shown by the efficiency of cash, receivable  and inventory management which in turn improve the company performance. Keywords: mental accounting, working capital, company performance

Abstract

This research aimed to determine the modifier factors of the Australian, France and Indonesian (Nusantara) tourist hope toward Lombok Island, and explain the relation between cultural background of each group according to Hofstede theory and the modifier factors. Method that used in this research was descriptive method with the sample survey approach. Sample for each group was 50 persons. The data were analyzed by descriptive analyze and statistic analyze by using factor analyze. The result shown the Australian with have individualistic culture background was forming the hope dominated by past experience, the France tourist, with uncertainty avoidance culture background, was forming their hope by collecting external information, while Indonesian with their collectivities culture tend to form their hope base on word of mouth. The difference of hope modifier in each tourist group became important thing to payed by the tourist executants to determine the tourism marketing strategy in the future.  Keywords : Hope, Hofstede Culture, Past Experience, External Information, Destination Image, Word of Mouth
