Abstract

The research discusses the settlement effort and reconciliation postriot in Situbondo, East Java. The settlement effort and reconciliation have been carried out by community in Situbondo, especially Islamic and Christian Community to build integration in Situbondo community. To get the data on the role of religious community in this case Islam and Christian as well as the community in Situbondo in general, is got through interview, survey initiated by light observation before doing research. The secondary data is got through review of literature relevant to research problems. Conflict theory, social integration, and re conciliation are used to explain and analyze research problems based on the data gathered. The finding shows that the integration in Situbondocommunity and reconciliation effort have been carried out by religious community, Islam, Christian and the whole community of Situbondo. The local wisdom of community in Situbondo serves as social capital in manifesting integration in the community so in the post conflict the life of Situbondo community and the relation between religious community in Situbondo experienced the inconveniences can harmonious again.

Abstract

Tradisonalis understanding of the existence of religion in Indonesian society is the construction of understanding religion in General. But in this case the starting point of the religious community's understanding of Indonesia which is still very traditional in interpreting religion, then there can be remove so just with the current development of modernity that continues to evolve. See the textual basis of religion that is the hallmark of the Indonesian community, why not, because the large number of religious understanding traditionally make the society tend to think that many radical and fundamental cause of disputes between fellow human beings was no exception non islam in Indonesia also became the target of the current religiousmodernity also potentially give rise to religious understanding textual basis in the application seharai the days thus the author trying to browse understanding religion in a society traditionally Indonesia in various pespektif like the socio cultural, economic and political as the base material in the writing of this.

Abstract

This paper discusses about the modernization of education conducted by Muhammadiyah at the beginning of the 20th century circa 1911-1932. The modernization was initiated by the founde of Muhammadiyah Kiyai Haji Ahmad Dahlan, indeed effected by religious social conditions of Moslems at that moment which is still lagging behind in all aspects of life. For Muhammadiyah, to solve the problem is modernization of education. Themodernization of education conducted by Muhammadiyah is a way of adapting the educational system of Netherlands in Islamic education. The form of the model of Muhammadiyah school is same as the model of Netherland school. The term of Aziyumardi Azra , referred to as “public school (Netherlands) plus” orStreenbrink referred to as “Ultra Conservative”. In that new and modern school, in addition to religious studies, taught public lessons; the instruments of the study adopted directly as how Netherlands learning. Applied level system and school payment from students. As well as he most phenomenal is the teachers have been given incentives in the form of salary. All of this things, which we now see as something that is good, at that moment it is something very new, strange and even overwhelming.

Abstract

The development of the school as an educational practice as long as it shows a lot of issues that are wrapped around the school. One of them is the difficulty of school to find recipes to produce the smart and good school output, to build this requires partnership and configuration changes. The configuration is the influence of the school became an interesting study, because it tends to change its effects. The school as the initiator needs to build a coalition that synergistic between schools, families, and communities.
