Abstract

Kusnadi et al, 2019. Solid Fermentation Potential to Substitusi of Corn on Feed Efficiency of Protein and Energy Chicken Arab Phase Grower. pp. 495-501. Soil palm processing waste in the form of solid is very abundant. Solid has not been widely used for animal feed and is mostly discarded. The study aimed to determine the potential of solid fermentation to substitute corn in protein efficiency and Arab chicken feed energy in the grower phase. One hundred chickens of Arabian chicken DOC were used in this study. This study used a completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 feed treatments and 5 replications. Feed treatment is P1: 0% solid fermentation, P2: 2.5% solid fermentation, P3: 5% solid fermentation, and P4: 7.5% solid fermentation. Chickens are kept 4 to 15 weeks old. Feeding twice a day and drinking water are given adlibitum. The parameters taken are protein consumption, protein efficiency, energy consumption and energy efficiency. The results of the study showed that solid fermentation for corn substitution in each treatment was P1; P2; P3 and P4 are 0%; 2.5%; 5% and 7.5% do not affect the consumption and efficiency of protein and energy of arabic chicken until the age of 15 weeks (grower period). From this study it can be concluded that solid fermentation can be given to arabic chicken feed until the age of 15 weeks (grower period) to replace corn feed ingredients. Solid fermentation in feed up to 7.5% has no effect on protein efficiency and feed energy.

Abstract

Novriadhy et al, 2019. Stakeholder Perspective in Penukal Abab Lematang Ilir District Concerning Household Waste Management. pp. 347-353. Households are the biggest waste producers. Therefore, household waste management must be done carefully and efficiently - especially for the New Autonomous Region - so as not to consume all resources that needed for development. This research was carried out in PALI District with the aim to identify the needs in waste management based on cross-sectoral stakeholder perspectives. Research informants came from local government units, nongovernment organizations, waste management practitioners, and small business groups. Data collected through FGD, observation and literature search. The data is processed with a qualitative approach and interpreted by the input-process-output method. The results showed three key factors needed for waste management i.e. the existence of the compost market, the availability of environmental cadres, and an environmental management working group that could synergize programs/activities from various stakeholders whereas the supporting factors were the funding method, regulatory enforcement, and adequate facilities-infrastructure. The research concluded that there is a need to change community behavior and work culture.

Abstract

Dwinanti et al, 2019. Siamese Fighting Fish (Betta splendens) Masculinization Using Coconut Water (Cocos nucifera) With Immersion Embrio Method. pp. 74-81. Most of male ornamental fish  have attractive color than female including Siamese fighting fish. Thus, male production is more preferable by farmer due to high demand on it. Sex reversal is a technology that reverses the direction of genital development from female to male (masculinization) or male to female (feminization). This research aims to determine the sex ratio of male fish resulting from immersion of Siamese fighting fish embryo with coconut water. This research was conducted at Basic Fisheries Laboratory Program Study of Aquaculture, Faculty of Agriculture, Sriwijaya University on February-March 2018. This research used randomized complete design (RCD) method with three treatments and three replications with 0% (control), 10% and 20%. The results showed concentration 10% resulted the best male percentage of siamese fighting fish i.e 91.06%. The highest hatching percentage was 90%, (at 0% concentration). The highest percentage of survival rate of Siamese fighting fish was 89% (concentration 20%). Embryonic immersion with coconut water can affect the percentage of hatching. The concentration at >10% didn’t give a good result of hatching percentage of siamese fighting fish. Water quality during maintenance were temperature 27.3-28oC, pH 5.9-6.3 and DO 4.2-5 mg.L-1.

Abstract

Cendrawati ete al, 2019. Identification of Dragonflies (Odonata) in Fresh Water, Grass and Herbaceous Vegetations in Indralaya Campus of Sriwijaya University. pp. 402-409.  Dragonflies (Odonata) play an important rule of the food chain. Dragonflies are effective predators in the ecosystem, play a role as natural enemies that can reduce the population of food crop pests. This indicates the important position of the existence of dragonflies in ecological balance. Dragonflies can also act as bioindicator in the ecosystem. Changes in dragonfly populations are a sign of the early stages of water pollution in addition to other signs in the form of water turbidity. This study aimed to determine the types and the behavior of Odonata on several traps in fresh water, grass and herbaceous vegetations in Indralaya Campus of Sriwijaya University. This research was conducted at the Unsri Indralaya Campus area, on December 2016. The study was arranged in a completely Randomized Completed Block Design (RCBD) consisted of two observation time, morning and afternoon, and 3 types of trap, unbranched trap (P1), two branched trap (P2), and three branched trap (P3) with 5 replications. Each branch was used as a trap which smeared by jackfruit sap. The results showed that unbranched trap (P1) on 3 different vegetations were preferred by dragonflies to perch and dragonflies in the Libellulidae family, namely Brachytemis contaminata were easy and most common found in each research location.

Abstract

Karman et al, 2019. Study of Sugar Cane Fertilizer Recommendation with Sugar Cane Nutrient Test Devices in Ogan Ilir District, South Sumatera. pp. 21-27.Increasing productivity can be done with balanced fertilization. This study was conducted to determine the effect of fertilizer dosage and the provision of compost based on the dosage of PUHT fertilization recommendation for the local area. The study was conducted at the location of the farmer’s sugar cane plantation in Ogan Ilir, South Sumatra. The design of study was RAL factorial with 4 replications. The first factor is fertilizer dosage consists of 3 levels, namely 75% dose recommendation; 100% dose recommendation; and 125% dose recommendations. The second factor is the application of compost consisting of 2 levels, namely without compost; and with compost. The results of the study showed that increasing fertilizer dosage recommendations and composting applications provided a significant increase in sugarcane production. However, the increase in production does not directly proportional to the increase in the value of R/C. Fertilization that produces the highest R/C value is 125% dose recommendation without giving compost, it is slightly different with 75% dose recommendation without giving compost.

Abstract

Murtiningrum et al, 2019. An Analysis of Farming and its Factors Toward Gerga Orange Farming Revenue at Rimbo Pengadang Village, Rimbo Pengadang District, Lebong Regency. pp. 338-346. In Bengkulu Province, especially at Lebong Regency is one of the regions which has various potentials that support the national economy, both agriculture, plantation, fisheries, livestock and forestry potential. In agriculture, it is an area that suitable for developing various types of horticultural crops such as gerga oranges, because it is supported by loose and fertile soil conditions and also supported by altitudes ranging from 800-1000 masl. One of the gerga oranges producing areas in Lebong Regency is Rimbo Pengadang Village, Rimbo Pengadang District. Gerga oranges cultivation run by farmers is in accordance with the existing production factors, with the hope that they will get a profitable revenue for their families. This study aimed to determine the revenue of oranges farming in Rimbo Pengadang Village, to determine the effect of land area, age, education, and number of family dependents on oranges farming revenue in Rimbo Pengadang Village and to know the development of gerga culture in Rimbo Pengadang Village in the last 5 years. The data used are primary data and secondary data. The data analysis tool used PD = TR - TC, where: Pd = Agricultural revenue (Rp / Ut). TR = Total revenue (Rp / Ut) and TC = Total cost (Rp / Ut). The method used to determine the efficiency of sawn oranges farming used in the formula: R / C Ratio. To examine the factors that influence agricultural revenue, multiple linear analysis was used, with the following formula: From the results of the study, it is known that the average revenue of the orange saw farming business is Rp. 59.759.158,52  per year / UT. With an average revenue of Rp. 80.425.000 per year / UT. For Gerga oranges farming activities, the average cost is Rp. 20.665.841,48 per year / UT. And it found that of the 4 independent variables tested, the land area has a significant effect on revenue with t table> t count, amounting to 2,394. Meanwhile, if the F test carried out together, then the fcount <ftabel was obtained, then Ho was accepted and Ha was rejected. Means together with independent veriabel there was no significant effect on the dependent variable in the revenue case.
