Abstract

AbstractThe objective of this research is to study the relationship between cognitive ability, cultural value, and lifestyle with the environment empathy towards the society in the batik waste disposal area.The research was conducted in the community of batik waste disposal area. The sample was taken by using random sampling technique.The data for the environmental empathy, cognitive ability, value of culture, and lifestyle were gathered by using questionnaire. The data obtained was analyzed by using regression, simple correlation, multiple correlation, and partial correlation.The result of the study showed that: (1) there was a positive correlation between the cognitive ability with environmental empathy; (2) the was a positive correlation between the value of culture with the environmental empathy; (3) there was a positive correlation between lifestyle with the environmental empathy; (4) there was a positive correlation between cognitive ability, value of culture, and lifestyle with the environmental study.It can be concluded that cognitive ability, value of culture, and lifestyle can increase the envirionmental empathy.

Abstract

rticipation in nagari environment.This research used qualitative approach, and techniques of observation, interview and document study in collecting data. Data is analyzed through some stages, such as domain analysis, taxonomy, component and theme.The finding of the research shows that nagari environment supports women, women being are still a domestic sphere in Salimpaung nagari, gender education process to woman is learned to encourage domestic roles, and trend to forward potential woman to domestic’s area, and Bundokandung is understanded as self woman and women organization, than woman organization is concentrated its functions. Its impact is to be balance among men’s roles and women’s roles in Salimpaung nagari.Based on those findings, it could be concluded that woman involvement which occurred might be effected by gender education process which received.Therefore, in increasing woman involvement in nagari environment into implementing gender education process by equity and eguality mentioned their quality of roles

Abstract

The objective of this research is to find out the effects of training media and the level of education on the skill to build the household sanitation based on environmental concern by the fisherman community in Barru Regency, South Sulawesi. The method used was a kind of experiment with 2 x 2 factorial design. The results of this research showed that; (1) the use of training media of model is better than the graphical media (drawing media), (2) there is an interaction found between the use of training media and education level of the fisherman in sanitation building, (3) the high level of education of fisherman in the skill of sanitation, gave a better result of the sanitation building, and (4) the modeling media gave better sanitation skill than the graphical media. It seems that the modeling media of training is better than the graphical media for the fisherman in the sanitation building.

Abstract

The study investigated the effect of social economic status, individual modernity, life style towards farmer’s participation in continuation of cultural value. Data on strategy use is gathered through a questionnaire (n=250) and analyzed by using Path Analysis. Results show that there status and farmer’s participation. There is direct effect between individual modernity and farmer’s participation. There is not indirect effect between social economic status through life style and farmer’s participation. There is indirect effect between individual modernity and life style towards participation in continuants of culture value. Economic status, individual modernity and life style are determined factors of cultural value of community.

Abstract

The rehabilitation program of critical land had been done since 1985 until 2001, but Bila watershedcondition did not get better, even the width of critical land and erotion got more increase. It was causedof some factors, those are unaccurateness of program and technological aplication. Analysis of thisresearch was focused on unaccurateness of strategic program. It wos to analysis and to formulate (1)main strategic program, and (2) suppoort strategic program on planning, actuating, and controlling ofcritical land bila watershed management. Analysis of Interpretative Structural Modelling was applied onthis research, and the result shown that main strategic program must be applicated with : (1) to equalizevision and mission on watershed management was carried out according to cross territory, (2) toorganize planning pattern on integrated watershed, (3) to coorporate in fund of cross territory, and (4) todevelop monitoring and evaluating function of cross territory. Were as support strategic program were(1) to form watershed management coordination organization, (2) to develop contolling function and lowinvestment cross territory.

Abstract

This study aimed at investigating the effect of training strategies and knowledge of basic concepts of ecology on environmental-based attitude of prospective labors. The experimental study with 2x2 factorial designs was conducted at the Regional Labor Training Centre of West Jakarta with training participants of the center involved as subjects of the study. The study has been focused on four Research Questions: (1) Is there any significant difference in the environmental-based attitude of prospective labors who were trained with fieldtrip strategy and those who were trained with group discussion strategy?; (2) Is there any significant difference in the environmental-based attitude of prospective labors with high level of knowledge of basic concepts of ecology who were trained with fieldtrip strategy and those who were trained with group discussion strategy?; (3) Is there any in the environmental-based attitude of prospective labors with low level of knowledge of basic concepts of ecology who were trained with fieldtrip strategy and those who were trained with group discussion strategy?; and (4) Is there any interactions between the effect of training strategies and knowledge of basic concepts of ecology on the environmental-based attitude of prospective labors?Findings of the study signify that (1) there is no significant difference in the environmental-based attitude of prospective labors who were trained with fieldtrip strategy and those who were trained with group discussion strategy; (2) prospective labors with high level of knowledge of basic concepts of ecology who were trained with fieldtrip strategy show better environmental-based attitude compared to those who were trained with group discussion strategy; (3) prospective labors with low level of knowledge of basic concepts of ecology who were trained with group discussion strategy show better environmental-based attitude compared to those who were trained with fieldtrip strategy; and (4) there is an interaction between training strategies and knowledge of basic concepts of ecology on the environmental-based attitude of prospective labors.To sum up, to promote better environmental-based attitude of prospective labors requires appropriate training strategies that is determined by carefully considering their knowledge level on basic concepts of ecology.

Abstract

This research is aimed to study a model of entrepreneurial skill learning at non formal educational institutions preparing women to become independent entrepreneurs. This study was conducted in the form of research and development (R &D) model employing mixed method (survey, evaluation and experiment). Its samples which were selected purposively covered four Islamic Women Groups in Bogor district. The model developed deals with the area of non formal education and is designed by the following steps : (1) developing concepts, (2) identifying target groups, (3) carrying out a need analysis, (4) determining objectives, (5) developing plans, (6) developing a curriculum and materials, (7) implementing the learning process, and (8) administering an evaluation.The result of the research shows that : (1) the model of interpreneurial skill learning using teaching methode with guidance is better than the one without guidance, (2) the result of the model interpreneurial skill learning using teaching methode with guidance is higher compared with the one without guidance. The model of women empowerment through interpreneurial skill learning with guidance in development of payette handycraft is effective in nurturing the intrepreneurial attitude and motivation by generating need for achivement motivation as well as managerial skills through practice and simulation.

Abstract

Sejumlah konflik antar kelompok masyarakat pernah terjadi di Indonesia. Kerusuhan Sambas 1998 melibatkan antara kelompok penduduk setempat dengan kelompok penduduk pendatang. Demikian pula konflik berdarah yang terjadi di Sampit, Ternate maupun Ambon. Dari pengalaman keterlibatan penyelidikan di lapangan serta penelitian, ditemukan sejumlah akar persoalan yang berbeda dengan cover-story yang sering dimunculkan dalam masyarakat. Sejumlah persoalan yang memicu terjadinya konflik tersebut antara lain:(1) Masalah kesenjangan kesejahteraan dalam masyarakat, (2) Kesenjangan penguasaan sumber-sumber ekonomi, (3) Kesenjangan tingkat pendidikan dan penempatan pejabat birokrat, (4) Peraturan Perundang-undangan nasional yang overlapping (5) Stigmatisasi terhadap kelompok etnis atau budaya tertentu, (6) Macetnya komunikasi antara Penguasa Daerah dengan masyarakatnya.

Abstract

The United Nations are formally commited to gender mainstreaming within all policy areas and programs. In 1992 the United Nation Conference on Environment and Development produced Agenda 21, which recognized women as one of the nine major groups whose active participation is essential to sustainable development. It was agreed that the advancement of women is indeed a pre requisite for making sustainable development a reality. The World Conference on Women in 1995 adopted the Beijing Platform for Action, in which governments agreed to implement gender mainstreaming. Other United Nation conference have also acknowledged the importance of adopting a gender specific approach to implementing policies; gender equality has been identified as one of Millennium Development Goals and designated as a crosscutting theme for work of the commission on sustainable organizations, national government, and most civil society groups still fail to integrate gender perspectives adequately into their policies and their actions.

Abstract

The objective of the research is to determine the influence of problem basedlearning, naturalistic intelligence, and their interaction on students’ ability inenvironment problem solving. The research was conducted at State Junior High School1 Mataram, Nusa Tenggara Barat, 2011 with n=36 selected randomly.The research are as follows: (1) the ability in environment problem solving ofthe students who learned using monolithic natural environment study is significanthigher than those who learned using integrated natural environment study (2) Theability in environment problem solving of those whose high naturalistic intelligence issignificant higher than those whose low naturalistic intelligence (3) the ability inenvironment problem solving for those whose high naturalistic intelligence but learnedusing monolithic natural environment study is significantly higher than those wholearned using the integrated one (4) the ability in environment problem solving forthose whose low naturalistic intelligence but learned using monolithic naturalenvironment study is not significant different from those who learned using theintegrated one (5) the ability in environment problem solving of those who learnedusing monolithic natural environment study but whose high naturalistic intelligence issignificant higher than those whose low naturalistic intelligence (6) the ability inenvironment problem solving of those whose low naturalistic intelligence but learnedusing monolithic natural environment study is not significant different from those wholearned using the integrated one.Based on the result of research, the students’ ability in solving environmentalproblems might be significantly improved by teaching them using monolithic approachas well as considering their naturalistic intelligence.
