Abstract

The study aimed to determine fowering and production performance of milk stage corn planted in critical sandy land with bio mulch. Plastic mulch and bio mulch (feedstuff used), were used on 3 (three) beds planted with Pioneer® seed corn. Seeds were planted with 25 x 50 cm in sandy land Jangkaran Village, Temon, Kulon Progo, Yogyakarta. Litter manure waste was used as basal fertilizer by spreaded over the beds at the level 7.5 t/ha. Corn seed planted on the bed without basal fertilizer and mulch as a control. Chemical fertilizers, urea and SP-36 are given in equal amounts and the corresponding frequency written on the label. Water was given to corn plant every other day. Quantity of flower was observed since the first time produce flower up to harvested at 10 weeks, while production was determined from total weight of whole plant harvested. The study is based on completely randomized design (CRD) and the data were analyzed by ANOVA with SPSS advanced analysis of LSD. Corn plant with bio mulch produced significantly higher of flower and whole plant compare with control but not significantly higher compare with plastic mulch. However, bio mulch always has highest level of flower 34.4% compare with plastic mulch 17.7% and control 9.2; highest production level of fresh whole plant13.3, plastic mulch 12.93 and 3.91 t/ha. Abstract

Organic fertilizer from fish waste is one alternative applied for plants and mulch to improve soil structure, soil and water uptake capacity, improve the environmental conditions of soil and nutrients. This study aims to determine the effect of fish waste and mulch on the production of Garlic var Lumbu umbu White and allin. A factorial Randomized Block Design with three replications. The first factor is the straw mulch (without and with mulch), the second factor is fish waste Io without, I1 50 kg/ha, I2 : 100 kg/ha I3 : 150 kg/ha. Observations were made on the size of bacteria, heavy wet bulb/dry, dimater tubers. The results showed that the mulch and fish waste affect the levels of allicin through the test of essential onion Streptococcus sp 11.33 mm. Bulbs Dry Weight on the area of 20.77 g/plant

Abstract

Welcome area on the campus of Bogor Agricultural University is an important element in an institutional area. Evaluation of environmental aesthetics done by the method of Scenic Beauty Estimation and the Semantic Differential. The purpose of the study: a) determine and assess the environmental quality of the area based on the shape and color of the tree; b) determining the level of beauty is based on the perception of the respondents; c) determine the preferences of respondents to the arrangement of landscape design welcome area based on the shape and color of the tree; and d) evaluate the visual quality of the landscape based on the estimation of beauty. The tools used: cameras, Photoshop CS 3 software, Minitab 16, and Acer 4741G. The study includes five stages: 1) the identification and study of the literature on the welcome area of IPB, 2) determining the location of the study, 3) making the landscape point (vantage point), 4) modification of existing photos based character visual closure, 5) assessment visitors through questionnaires. The concept of landscape which has the highest value to lower the concept of landscape 3 worth 91.1, the concept of landscape 4 worth 90.9, 2 worth 89.2, the concept of landscape 5 worth 78 and the lowest landscape landscapes existing concept of value 0. The highest concept is the concept of landscape 3, shows that the respondents wanted the landscape in accordance with the theme is a memorable landscape warm, cheerful, grand or large, formal, focused, open or bright, spacious, unique, and strong character. The landscape evaluation welcome IPB campus area, is expected to be a recommendation in the planning and design of the IPB campus

Abstract

One alternative to meet the needs of the market and the increasing availability of public interest will be the consumption of meat, it can be done by utilizing the potential of laying duck meat rejected. This study aims to determine the quality of the meat rejected by the use of a combination of pineapple and papaya extracts. The method used is an experimental study using a completely randomized design (CRD). Soaking duck meat with the addition of a combination of salvage pineapple and papaya fruit extract that consists of 4 levels: 0% Pineapple: 0% Papaya, Pineapple 25%: 75% Papaya, Pineapple 50%: 50% and 75% Pineapple Papaya: Papaya 25%. Data were analyzed using Variant Analysis and continued with Duncan's multiple range test if there is a difference. The results showed a significant difference to the levels of protein, fat and meat tenderness (P0.05) rejects laying duck meat

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of two commercial feed and feed the rational against the appearance of chicken. One hundred and twenty chickens unsexed placed randomly assigned to 3 treatment groups feed with four replications, each repeat of the three feed treatments, a commercial broiler starter feed (BR-I) production Japfa Comfeed Indonesia (P1), the commercial broiler starter feed (Br IA) Charoend production Pokphand Indonesia (P2), and a rational feed prepared with crude protein (CP) and metabolizable energy (ME) commercial feed (P3). Feed and water were given ad libitum. Data observed were feed intake, weight gain, feed conversion, protein consumption, balance efficiency of protein, and amino acid consumption. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance of a completely randomized design unidirectional pattern, if there are differences in test followed by Duncan Multiple Range Test. From the results of this study concluded that the two types of commercial diets produce feed intake and higher weight gain and feed conversion efficiency and balance of feed protein is better than rational

Abstract

Landscape can gives identity to a place, and hence diversity to the setting places of lives. Alok Galing Park as a Sambas’s area haven’t developed comprehensively yet. Considering proportion of functional and aesthetics aspects, which have ideal value in describing its development, hopped that Alok Galing Park become a harmony landscape as Sambas city’s indentity. The research goal is redesigning Alok Galing Park as city’s welcome area. The research was conducted by site-observation to collect data. Collected data consist of primary data include physical, biophysical, socio-cultural economic aespects, and secondary data that some relevant literatures. Data were analyzed descriptively. The results showed that redesigning Parks Alok Galing implemented by changing the land form which was originally seems like valleys into the hills. Ironwood (Eusideroxylon zwageri) is added as a city’s specific characteristic. Welcome Monument at the site will be retained in order to maintain the synergy between Saing Rambi Monument and Alok Galing Park. Several types of vegetation added like trees: Betel palm (Arace catechu), Auri (Acacia auriculiformis) and Japanese fern (Fellicium decipiens); shrubs: Skyflower (Duranta erecta) and Shoe flower (Hibiscus rosasinensis; groundcovers: Pinto nuts (Arachis pintoi) and Elephant grass (Pennisetum purpureum). Abstract

The using of probiotic become crucial as a natural feed additive to increase the production of native chicken and avoid the using of antibiotic which can leave bad residue in poultry meat. This research used 2 kinds of bacteria were probiotic A (Bacillus spp) and probiotic B (mixing bacteria) on four feed treatments were BR 1 (factory feed production that contain 21-23% protein), feed formulation corn-soybean basic contain 20%, 19% and 18% crude protein. The research used Nested method, there were 8 treatments and replication 3 times. The result showed that treatments combination didn’t give significant effect (p>0.05) on feed consumption, final weight, FCR (feed consumption ratio), and carcass weight, but it gave very significant effect on meat fat (p
