Abstract

The aim of this research was to determine the effect of honey as a natural preservative to the quality of meat with a temperature variation 4⁰C. The material used in this study was meat and honey with a concentration al 20 %. Honey used was wild honey, forest honey is honey produced by wild bees. This honey comes from wild bees called Apis dorsata. The research method is a laboratory experiment using a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments with each treatment was repeated 3. The research variables there are two, namely the independent variable is the meat preservative given honey with a concentration of 20 % is kept by the variation shelf life, which is 0 hours, 24 hours, 36 hours, and 72 hours. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance when there are changes then followed by Duncan's test. The results showed that the preservation of ground beef with honey addition of 20 % with a variation of the storage period at TPC test results and protein levels resulted in a significant influence (P < 0.01). Preservation of meat no significant effect on the organoleptic (P > 0.05). TPC for the lowest value of the analytical results is 263.33 cfu / g at 24 hours storage time, the highest protein content on a storage time of 36 hours by 14.14 %, while the highest panelist preferences based on storage time 0 hours on the texture of ground beef by 86 %. The results of research carried out can be concluded that giving honey to 20% with a shelf life of 24 hours gives the best quality minced meat at a temperature 4⁰C. The addition of 20 % honey as a preservative in ground beef can maintain a shelf life of up to 72 hours to be consumed. Keywords: Minced Beef, Honey, storage, Total Microbe.

Abstract

ABSTRACT The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of using different starter concentration on the quality of goat milk kefir. The material used in this study is the starter of goat's milk and kefir granules. This research method used was experimental studies designed using completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatment that P0: goat's milk without starter, P1: goat milk were given starter kefir 3% fermented, P2: goat milk were given starter kefir 3 , 5% fermented, P3: goat milk kefir starter by 4% fermented. Each treatment was repeated 3 times, the measured variables, namely pH, protein content, and organoleptic tests. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance, if there are differences continued using Duncan test, while the organoleptic test were analyzed using Kruskal Wallis. Based on the results of the study indicate that the use of starter concentration provides highly significant effect (P 0.05). The conclusion from this study is the use of starter concentration producing quality goat milk kefir quality is best at a concentration of 4%. It is advisable to use goat milk kefir with a concentration of 3%, 3.5% as suitable for consumption and meets the standards of fermented milk. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to knowing the fresh sperm PE goat motility using a CEP-2 diluent in different time and temperature storage. Abstract

ABSTRACT The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of the leaf extract beluntas and Azolla on carcass weight and carcass percentage broiler ducks. This study uses field research by using a completely randomized design (CRD), which consists of 4 treatments with 4 replicates and each treatment using 12 broiler ducks. Aspects observed in this study is the carcass weight and carcass percentage on broiler ducks. From the results of this study showed the highest body weight contained in P0B treatment for only 1400 grams, while the lowest was in the weight of 1000 grams P3D. This difference is due to the degree of weight gain with different consumption. From these results it can be seen that the leaf extract beluntas and Azolla show that there is a real impact on carcass weight. Because at the time of treatment the first week to the second week pobud remaining feed, whereas in the second week of treatment until the third week of feed pobud run out. This difference is due to the degree of weight gain and consumption are different. Based on the results of analysis of variance is known that the use of leaf extracts beluntas and Azolla significantly affect carcass percentage of 40-day-old broiler ducks. The real effect of this is due to the use of extracts of leaves beluntas and each treatment as much as P1 beluntas (0.18 kg) and P1 azolla (1.02 kg), P2 beluntas (0.12 kg) and P2 azolla (1.08 kg), P3 beluntas (0.06 kg) and P3 azolla (1.14 kg), in the diet is not giving effect to the carcass percentage. Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penambahan level ekstrak bawang merah terhadap kualitas semen cair kambing peranakan ettawa (PE) dengan menggunakan pengencer ringer’s dextrose. Materi yang digunakan adalah semen segar kamping peranakan ettawa (PE), Ringer's Dextrose, dan ekstrak bawang merah. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah eksperimental dengan menggunakan analisis statistik RAL (Rancangan Acak Lengkap). Pada penentuan tingkat ekstrak bawang dalam Dextrosperlich Ringer penguat adalah suhu ruang penyimpanan, hasil terbaik yang diketahui pada motilitas individu (P <0,01) adalah tambahan 2% sebanyak 71,87 ± 2,5. Dalam menentukan tingkat Ekstraksi ekstrak bawang Ringer Dextrose room temperature, hasil terbaik yang diketahui dalam survival (P <0,01) adalah penambahan 2% sebanyak 90,63 ± 0,97. Pengaruh kadar ekstrak bawang dalam pengencerRinger's Dextrose juga memberikan kelainan (P <0,05) di samping 2% sebanyak 0,61 ± 0,18. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah penambahan ekstrak bawang bombay pada diluent Ringer's Dextrose memberikan pengaruh nyata terhadap motilitas, viabilitas. Perlu penelitian lebih lanjut mengenai lama penyimpanan untuk mengetahui bagaimana ekstrak bawang bisa dapat mempertahankan kehidupan spermatozoa. Abstract The purpose of this research was to know and study the influence of level of different onion extract in diluent Ringer’s Dextrose to the quality of goat Ettawa cross breed’s semen room temperature storage. The material which was used is fresh semen Ettawa cross breed’s, Ringer’s Dextrose, Onion extract. The research method which is used is experimental by using statistical analysis of RAL (Complete Random Design). On the determination of the level of onion extract in a diluent Ringer’s Dextrose which is store room temperature, best results were known on motility of individuals (P<0,01) is in addition of 2% as much as 71.87±2.5.In determining the level of onion extract dilution Ringer Dextrose room temperature, the best results are known in survival ( P < 0.01 ) was the addition of 2 % as much as 90.63 ± 0.97. The influence of level of onion extract in diluentsRinger’s Dextrose is also giving abnormality (P<0,05) in addition of 2% as much as 0.61±0.18.The conclusion of this research is the addition of onion extract in diluent Ringer’s Dextrose give the real influence to motility, viability. It needs further research concerning the length of storage in order to find out how onion extract could sustain the life of spermatozoa.

Abstract

Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh kombinasi ekstrak buah nanas dan pepaya pada konsentrasi yang berbeda terhadap kualitas daging itik petelur afkir. Metode yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan konsentrasi kombinasi ekstrak nanas (N) dan papaya (P) sebagai perlakuan. Adapun perlakuan penelitiannya yaitu P0 (0%N, 0%P); (P1 25%N, 75%P); P2 (50%N, 50%P), and P3 (75%N, 25%P). Setiap perlakuan diulang 3 kali. Variabel dalam penelitian adalah kadar protein dan kadar lemak daging itik pedaging. The method used was a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with a combination of pineapple extract (N) and papaya (P) as a treatment. The research treatment is P0 (0% N, 0% P); (P1 25% N, 75% P); P2 (50% N, 50% P), and P3 (75% N, 25% P). Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The variables in the study were protein content and fat content of broiler duck meat. The results showed a significant difference for the concentration of the combination of pineapple and papaya fruit extracts on protein content (P <0.01) with an average P0 (21.98%), P1 (17.40%), P2 (17.37%), P3 ( 17.62%) and fat content (P <0.01) with an average P0 (2.15%), P1 (3.75%), P2 (3.41%), P3 (3.54%). Based on the results it can be concluded that the best experiment is at 75% N 25% P.

Abstract

Abstrak Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan ekstrak daunbeluntas dan Azolla terhadap inccome over feed cost dan nilai ekonomis pakanitik pedaging. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah 48 ekor itik pedaging dan bahan dengan komposisi sesuai dengan standar kebutuhan itik pedaging serta beluntas dan. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode percobaan Lapang dengan menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) yaitu 4 perlakuan dan setiap perlakuan diulangi sebanyak 4 kali. Masing-masing percobaan diisi dengan 3 ekor itik. Perlakuan dalam penelitian ini adalah P0: (complete feed 100%), P1: complete feed 50% + ((azolla 85%) + (ekstrak bluntas 15%) 50%); P2: complete feed 50% +(( azolla 90%) + (ekstrak bluntas 10% )50%), P3: complete feed 50% +(( azolla 95% )+ (ekstrak bluntas 5% )50%). Variabel yang diamati dalam penelitian ini adalah inccome over feed cost dan nilai ekonomis pakan itik pedaging, dan di analisis dengan menggunakan analisis ragam dengan rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL). Apa bila antara perlakuan ada perbedaan, dilanjutkan dengan Uji BNT.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa IOFC tertinggi pada perlakuan P0 dan terendah pada perlakuan P3. Dengan nilai P0 sebesar Rp 6.262 dan nilai P3 sebesar Rp 605. Sedangkan Nilai ekonomis yang tertinggi terdapat pada kelompok P3 dan terendah pada P1 dengan nilai P3 Rp 27.940 dan nilai P1 sebesar Rp 26.312. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa pengguanaan ekstrak daun bluntas dan azolla sebagai pakan fermentasi sampai level 95% tidak memberikan pengaruh terhadap inccome over feed cost (IOFC), danNilai ekonomis pakan. Abstract The purpose of this research is to know the effect of using bluntas extract and Azolla as addition feed for inccome over feed cost and the economic value of ducks feed. The subject of this research were 48 ducks, complete feed, bluntas and azolla. Field exprerimental method was a method that was used in this research by using (completely randomized design) wherareas 4 treatments were applied. Each of treatment was repeated 4 times. The treatment of this researc were P0 : (complete feed 100%), P1: complete feed 50% +((azolla 85%)+(bluntas exstract 15%) 50%), P2: complete feed 50%, +((azolla 90%)+(bluntas exstract 10%) 50%), P3: complete feed 50%, +((azolla 95%)+(bluntas exstract 5%) 50%). Variable of this study was income over feed cost and the economic value of ducks feed. The result of this study showed that the higher income over feed founded on treatment of P0 group with Rp. 2626 mean while the lowest on P2 group with Rp. 605. Wide result shows that the treatment give real effect (P<0,05) to IOFC of ducks. There was significant affect of IOFC and the economic value of boiler ducks feed. It was concluded that the combination of the level of protein interaction and Azolla and Bluntas. Obtained an IOFC of Rp 6.626, with production economic value of ducks feed of Rp 27. 940, at the age of 5 weeks Hbri ducks (P3)

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penggunaan tepung emping melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) pada pakan terhadap pH, kadar air, dan penyusutan daging ayam. Dalam percobaan dengan rancangan acak lengkap 4 perlakuan, 4 ulangan, satu unit eksperimen yang terdiri dari 5 ayam ayam yang dibagi secara acak. Keempat ulangan tersebut konsisten dengan empat perlakuan dari penelitian ini, masing-masing mengandung P0, P1, P2, dan P3 adalah 0% (kontrol), 5%, 10%, dan 15%. Melinjo emping flour (Gnetum gnemon) adalah sebagai pakan tambahan yang didapat dari pasaran. Variabel penelitian adalah: pH, kadar air, dan konsumsi daging ayam. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kadar keripik leleh (Gnetum gnemon) tidak berpengaruh terhadap pH daging (P> 0,05) sedangkan pada kadar air dan penyusutan Daging ayam menunjukkan perbedaan pengaruh yang sangat signifikan (P <0,01). Nilai pH rata-rata pada perlakuan P0, P1, P2, dan P3 adalah 5,9; 5.9; 6.0 dan 5.9. Nilai rata-rata kadar air dalam perlakuan P0, P1, P2, dan P3 adalah 79,30; 84,90; 83.30, dan 83.40. Nilai rata-rata penyusutan daging ayam dalam perlakuan P0, P1, P2, dan P3 adalah 2,7; 4.2; 4,7 dan 4,7. Disimpulkan bahwa penambahan pati emping melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) berpengaruh pada kadar air dan penyusutan daging ayam. Namun, penggunaan tepung emping melinjo (Gnetum gnemon) tidak berkaryh pada pH daging ayam. ABSTRACT This study aims to determine the effect of the use of emping melinjo flour (Gnetum gnemon) in a feed to pH, moisture content, and shrinkage of chicken meat. In an experiment with a completely randomized design of 4 treatments, 4 replications, one experimental unit consisting of 5 randomly divided chicken chickens. The four replications were consistent with four treatments from the study, each containing P0, P1, P2, and P3 were 0% (control), 5%, 10%, and 15%. Melinjo emping flour (Gnetum gnemon) is as an additional feed obtained from the market. The research variables were: pH, Water content, and Chicken Meat Meat Consumption. The results showed that the level of using melting chips (Gnetum gnemon) did not give effect to meat pH (P> 0,05) while in water content and shrinkage Chicken meat showed a very significant difference of influence (P <0.01). The mean pH value at treatment P0, P1, P2, and P3, was 5.9; 5.9; 6.0 and 5.9. The average value of water content in the treatment of P0, P1, P2, and P3 was 79.30; 84.90; 83.30, and 83.40. The mean value of shrinkage of chicken meat in treatment P0, P1, P2, and P3 was 2.7; 4.2; 4.7 and 4.7. It was concluded that the addition of emping melinjo starch (Gnetum gnemon) had an effect on water content and shrinkage of chicken meat. However, the use of emping melinjo flour (Gnetum gnemon) is not significant at the pH of chicken meat.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui subtitusi limbah ulat hongkong sebagai pengganti konsentrat terhadap konsumsi protein dan protein efisiensi rasio (PER) pada ternak kelinci. Materi yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi ternak kelinci sebanyak 12 ekor, kandang, peralatan dan pakan ternak yaitu limbah ulat hongkong, konsentrat, hijauan. Metode yang digunakan adalah percobaan laboratorium dengan mengunakan 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan, meliputi, P0 : Kontrol (Konsentrat 60% + Hijauan 40%), P1 : Limbah Ulat 20% + Konsentrat 40% + Hijauan 40%. P2 : Limbah Ulat 40% + Konsetrat 20% + Hijauan 40%. P3: Limbah Ulat 60% + Hijauan 40%. Adapun variabel penelitian meliputi konsumsi protein dan protein efisiensi rasio (PER). Data yang di dapat pada penelitian ini dianalisis, dengan menggunakan RAL, jika terdapat pengaruh dilanjutkan dengan uji BNT. Berdasarkan penelitian ini diketahui bahwa penambahan limbah ulat pada pakan kelinci memberikan pengaruh yang nyata(P<0,05) terhadap protein efisiensi rasio (PER) dan tidak memberikan pengaruh(P>0,05) terhadap Konsumsi protein. Konsumi protein tertinggi pada P0 (18,81 gr), dan PER tertinggi dicapai pada P1 (1,19). Berdasarkan hasil pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa substitusi limbah ulat hongkong sebanyak 20% memberikan nilai terbaik terhadap protein efisiensi rasio (PER). Concentrat 60%+ forageP1: waste silkworn 20% + concentrate 40% + forage 40%, P2: waste silkworn 20% + concentrate 40% forage 40% P3: waste mealworm 60% + 40% forage, while The date was analyzed using analysis of variance RAL, if there is the influence followed by LSD test. The result of research were, the substitution of melworn waste on concentrate gave significant effect (P<0.05) to protein eficienci ratio (PER) and did’t gave effect (P>0.05) to protein consumtion. The highest consumtion of protein P0 (18.89) and the highest PER in P1 91,19). Based on the results of the discussion can be concluded that the feed control provides the best value. But economically and based on the use of waste as much as 20%melwormhongkong provide the best value.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini dilakukan di Balai Besar Inseminasi Buatan Singosari Kabupaten Malang. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dan mengkaji pengaruh berbagai metode Sedimentasi putih telur terhadap abnormalitas dan motilitas spermatozoa semen sexing kambing PE. Metode penelitian ini yang digunakan adalah percobaan laboratorium dengan analisis varian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan pemeriksaan semen berdasarkan evaluasi mikroskopis yang diperoleh menunjukkan gerak massa yang sangat bagus, cepat dan gelap dengan skor positif 3, motilitas individu 94,8%, konsentrasi 3540,2 juta per ml, viabilitas 96,35%, abnormalitas 2,9%. Motilitas spermatozoa dengan menggunakan pengencer Tris lapisan bawah memiliki nilai terendah dibandingkan pengencer lainnya (P<0,01) sebesar 4,71±0,09%. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa abnormalitas dan motilitas spermatozoa semen sexing menggunakan sedimentasi putih telur yang terbaik yaitu dengan pengencer Tris Aminomethan kuning telur dengan rataan motilitas sebesar 65,4% dan rataan abnormalitas sebesar 4,71%. ABSTRACT This research was conducted at the Center for Artificial Insemination Singosari district Malang with the purpose of this research is to know and investigate the effect of various methods of white egg sedimentation to abnormalities and motility sexing sperm goat. This research method used a laboratory experiment with analysis was variance. The results showed sperm examination by microscopic evaluation obtained showed a mass movement which was very nice, fast and dark with a positive score of 3, the individual motility was 94.8%, 3540.2 million per ml concentration, viability was 96.35%, abnormalities 2.9 %. Motility was using Tris bottom layer has the lowest value compared to the other diluent (P <0.01) was 4.71 ± 0.09%. It can be concluded that abnormalities and motility sexing sprem using egg whites sedimentation are best used with Tris Aminomethan yolks egg with the average motility was 65.4% and the average abnormalities was 4.71%.
