Abstract

This research aims at answering the problems “Can Cooperative learning improve the grammatical competence of the students of ABA St. Pignatelli Surakarta?, and What effect may appear during the process of applying cooperative learning in class?”. Those problems are proposed as the students’ competence on grammar is still under what the lecturers expect.  The students who got score of 70 or more in the final test of the third semester are 47.05%. Therefore, their competence needs to be improved by cooperative learning method, especially STAD which is believed to be the most appropriate to apply. The source of data is the fourth semester students and their Structure and Grammar lecturer. The data were taken from the results of the final test of the third semester, mid-term test and final test of the fourth semester. Test, observation, questionnaire, interview and document were used to collect data. The technique of analyzing data was descriptive qualitative analysis. The result of research is cooperative learning can improve the grammatical competence of the students of ABA St. Pignatelli Surakarta. The improvement is especially on the number of students whose scores are 70 or more becomes 58.82% in mid-term test and 76.47% in the final test. A positive effect in the form of better atmosphere of the class appears during the implementation of cooperative learning. The students are more active in joining the lecture, and they feel appreciated for they are involved in seeking knowledge. They also begin to be confident and brave to ask and give opinion.

Abstract

By the Director General of Land Transportation in Central Java, traffic accidents that happen are dominated by drivers with high school educational backgrounds. Based on "Anatomy Report" by Blora Traffic Police, the number of accident incidents with a high school equivalent educational background is 206 out of total 313 cases. SHS 1 Blora is one of the high schools in Blora that has carried out face-to-face learning activities starting in late 2020, giving rise to probability of students mobilizing by vehicle. By Close observation found that 20% of the 80 students had accidents with one incident died, and most of them suffered severe injuries. The purpose of the study to determine whether characteristics, knowledge of safety riding, and intensity of mobility influenced the incidence rate of accidents that occurred in SHS 1 Blora, through a cross-sectional approach and quantitative analytical observational research design that used questionnaires as the main instrument. From 176 student data that were considered valid, it was concluded that age and education level as form of characteristic factors, then the level of understanding of safety riding, and the use of PPE, which is included in safety riding knowledge, have a close relationship with the level of accidents that occurs.

Abstract

Fatigue is a problem that can occur in every workforce that is closely related to decreased performance and productivity. Work fatigue is defined as a process of decreasing efficiency, work performance, and reduced physical strength or endurance to continue activities, the decline in the health condition of workers can trigger work accidents and work-related diseases. This study aims to determine the association between workload, length of work, length of work, exercise habits and age with work fatigue. The type of research used is quantitative research which is analytic with a cross sectional approach. The population in this study were ID Express Drop Point Kroya expedition couriers, Cilacap Regency, totaling 40 people. The sample for this study was all package delivery workers or couriers working at ID Express Drop Point Kroya with a total of 35 people, using a total sampling technique. Data were analyzed by univariate and bivariate. The results showed that workload (p=0.024), years of service (p=0.027), length of work (p=0.007), and exercise habits (p=0.021) were associated with work fatigue on expedition courier ID Express Drop Point Kroya, Cilacap Regency.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and reconstruct community knowledge into scientific knowledge about the process of making Sokka roof tiles carried out by the people of Kedawung Village, Pejagoan District, Kebumen Regency, Central Java Province. The research method used is a qualitative method with an ethnoscience phenomenological approach. The research instruments used were observation sheets and interviews. The stages of the research were observation, verification, reconstruction, formulation, and conceptualization and documentation. Descriptive data analysis was also carried out for the data on the transformation of indigenous people's science and local wisdom into scientific science. The analysis results show that the owners and craftsmen have good techniques and methods and innovative ideas to produce quality roof tiles. The results showed that the chemical concepts in making Sokka Kebumen roof tiles were the nomenclature of compounds, hydrocarbons, reaction rates, and colloids. The expected output of this research is as a contextual learning resource for science teachers in schools to grow the students' scientific literacy.

Abstract

The condition of the Covid-19 pandemic which requires staying at home has made many changes, especially in the field of education. Semarang State University (UNNES) and Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng are universities affected by the Covid-19 pandemic so that online learning has an effect on the graduation of old students.  Thesis and scientific publications are quite a big obstacle for students who are currently thesising.  Scientific articles including the publication of scientific papers are one of the causes of this because it is still a scary thing for students. UNNES and Unika Santu Santu Paulus Ruteng students who are carrying out S1 research (thesis / final project) are very much scattered throughout the study program. This service is carried out to overcome these problems, both in Unika and UNNES. The Technical Guidance Method is used in this service in overcoming these problems which are carried out online because the spread of the Omicron variant of Covid-19 and the distance between the two universities is very far. This devotion produces the output of articles created by trainees. In the article, it is found that a) the scientific article in the aspects of completeness is in the good group, b) the content of the draft article is in the excellent, good, and quite good group. However, in terms of EYD, there were 18 errors in the use of the conjunction "sedangkan" there were 18 errors from 26 participants, inaccuracy in terms of the use of the affirmative conjunction "yaitu” as many as 91 errors, and inaccuracy in the use of comma punctuation (,) before the word "yaitu" as many as 126 errors. Keywords: training, scientific articles, UNNES and Unika Santu Paulus Ruteng students

Abstract

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, all teaching and learning activities must change to online learning and results in students being stuck on their gadgets and accessing information or content unrelated to the lesson. Consequently, this creates an attitude of students who tend to be passive and unaware of the surrounding environment and local culture. Moreover, the learning material provided by the teacher is hard to understand by students because it is only in the form of text without sufficient explanation. Therefore, this situation affects students' learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the ethnoscience-based discovery learning model assisted by online learning videos on students. This study uses the Pre-Experimental research method: One Group Pretest–Posstest. The sample in this study are all fifth-grade students at SDN Semirejo 02 with a total of 25 students using Non Probability Sampling with saturation sampling technique. The data is obtained through posttest, interviews, observations, and documentation. The data analysis techniques in this study are classical completeness test, paired sample t-test, and N-Gain test. The results show that there is a significant increase in student learning outcomes as indicated by the results of the t-test which is the tcount (15,868) ttable (1,711), and the N-Gain value of 0.49 which is included in the medium effectiveness. The learning model can also improve the affective assessment of students in the aspects of being careful, accurate, and independent. Therefore, this learning makes students enthusiastic in participating in learning. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the ethnoscience-based discovery learning model assisted by online learning videos is effective on student learning outcomes.
