Abstract

The Failure on tube rod arm cylinder hydraulic excavator caused to lose production and processing time on mining site. Investigation included visual inspection, chemical analysis, metallography analyze, and microhardness test. Tube material used high silicon material type while the standard used ST52 carbon steel type. The tube was broken and crack to several pieces. The chemical composition of the tube has different in sulfur and silicon content. From hardness test with micro hardness method, sample tube broken has lower hardness compared to standard hardness. Metallography analysis obtained the phase of tube has same phase with standard which is ferrite and pearlite phase but has different grain size. Based on this study, it can be resumed failure on tube is because impurities and different specification on raw material.

Abstract

Steam power plants are the most efficient type of power generation and can make a significant contribution to the demand for electricity resources. Steam power plants, in general, utilize energy derived from seawater to be process into steam in boilers so that often many pipe failures have occurred due to thinning due to corrosion caused by inappropriate water quality in small units and difficult to detect continuously. In general, inspection planning related to pipe thinning in steam power plants shows a minimal trend compared to inspections in the oil & gas industry. Moreover, it has no basic policy as to how inspection intervals and piping methods will be carry out. In this study, it carried out with the aim of conducting a risk assessment of boiler pipe failure so that it can provide a more optimal overview of the inspection plan. Analysis using Risk Based Inspection (RBI) will be used as a research reference to create the most effective and efficient inspection system as to minimize the impact and expenses cost in pipeline maintenance. After RBI assessment, the inspection plan for superheater pipeline on boiler line will be held every 2 years.

Abstract

This research started from observations, which were seen based on data from Puncak Paragliding tourist visits which decreased from January to September, this occurred due to the outbreak of the Covid - 19 pandemic that entered and resulted in the imposition of a lockdown system or PSBB in almost all regions in Indonesia including the city of Padang. . Where the government prohibits residents from making tourist visits in order to prevent the transmission of the Covid-19 pandemic. Only in the last three months of 2021 has the level of tourist visits coming to the Puncak Paragliding tourist attraction experienced a significant increase, this is of course accompanied by implementing strict health protocols. Researchers also observe other problems, namely as a tourist attraction Puncak Paragliding is faced with the challenge of being able to attract tourists who want to visit. This is certainly important to do because as one of the businesses engaged in services. In addition, facilities are facilities and infrastructure that play an important role in efforts to increase tourist satisfaction. The results showed that there were 6 indicators in quadrant 1 (Concentrate Here, Top Priority) High Importance, Low Performance, there were 2 indicators in quadrant 2 (Keep Up The Good Work, Maintain Performance) High Importance, High Performance, there were 2 indicators that are in quadrant 3 (Low Priority) Low Importance, Low Performance and there are 3 indicators that are in quadrant 4 (Possibly Overkill, Excessive) Low Importance, High Performance.

Abstract

The availability and reliability of electrical energy has become the backbone of society, so periodic maintenance needs to be carried out to avoid short breakdowns and technical malfunctions as well as to improve electrical and environmental safety. Overhead transmission line is an important part of the transmission network and their health status is an important foundation for ensuring the reliable supply of electricity to the power grid. The health index (HI) is a value that reflects the health status of high-voltage transmission lines obtained by combining the normalization of component ratings on certain parameters and calculation methods. This study shows that the condition of assets, electricity and the environment have an effect on determining the soundness index of the Anyer-Asahimas 150 kV overhead transmission line and can be a guide for its maintenance. The final health index value shows 92.8% meaning that the transmission is not only safe in terms of equipment but also safe in terms of electrical and environmental safety aspects.

Abstract

The failure analysis of a seawater fire protection system of oil and gas processing facility was observed in this paper. The fire protection pipe line & hull seawater filter were made of CuNi 90/10. Severe deep pits and fracture were observed at bottom of jockey pump spool pipe and hull seawater filter. Visual observation, scanning electron microscope, energy dispersive spectroscopy, x-ray diffractometry were employed in the present failure analysis. The oxygen exposure on CuNi 90/10 of Seawater Fire Protection system had a significant impact on failure and was exacerbated by the presence of chloride exposure.

Abstract

Technological progress is something that cannot be avoided in line with the development of science. Technology provides many benefits because technology is present to facilitate human work. One of the technological advances is the presence of airplanes. To go wherever humans are not restricted by distance and time. Generally, people will use a suitcase to store their luggage when they travel because it is easier to carry. But the theft of items in the suitcase is rampant. For this reason, a security system can be made that can inform the owner that the suitcase has been forcibly opened. The PIR sensor installed in the suitcase will detect if there is movement and temperature of the human body heat in the suitcase. Then GSM SIM900A will send a notification to the owner and the buzzer will sound. If the suitcase has been stolen and taken away then we can see the location of the suitcase in the application that has been made with coordinates obtained from the GPS module installed in the suitcase. In addition, we can activate or deactivate the sensor through an application that has been made with the aim that when the owner opens the suitcase there will be no notification that the suitcase has been forced open and the buzzer will not ring.
