Abstract

This research aims to show the effects of (1) job involvement, (2) stress, (3) the performance of teachers working in Private Vocational Schools (SMK) in Matraman subdistrict, East Jakarta. The method used in the research is a survey research method with a quantitative-causal approach using path analysis. The survey was conducted from April to June 2018 by taking randomly-selected samples consisting of 150 teachers in a subdistrict. The findings in this research show: First, there is a direct effect of job involvement on performance. Second, there is a direct negative effect of stress on performance. Third, there is a negative direct effect of job involvement on stress.

Abstract

Problem-solving skill requires the ability to think creatively in exploring various alternatives or solutions. Someone’s ability to think has different levels depending on works he produces. Therefore, it is necessary to carry out an analysis of the determination of student’s creativity level by employing a fuzzy mamdani method. Abstract

Along with the advancement of educational technology, the success of teaching activities in schools, especially in elementary schools, is not only determined by the teaching factors originating only from material books, but also by the utilization of information resources from the internet in enriching and expanding the source of teaching materials. The role of teachers in expanding their knowledge is considered very important to be continuously developed and improved. The utilization of the internet can encourage teachers to be more creative in developing innovations in learning materials in classroom. The flexibility of the Internet and its quickness to dynamically produce changes make the values of information and knowledge grow very quickly. It cannot be denied that besides having the positive aspects, the internet has also negative aspects. Therefore, the teachers have to be more aware of the negative and positive impacts of the internet in order to be able to well explain them to the students in the class. The available space on the internet can be also used by teachers to exchange ideas and communicate through e-mail, discussion forums, web blogs and social media. The research will then give the mapping pattern and comparison of the competence of teachers in MI Al Madarijut in using the internet media as an additional source of subject materials.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out the design of an Adobe Flash CS5-based computer media on the quadrilateral concept material and how far this medium can facilitate understanding of the quadrilateral concept. It is a development research with stages consisting of needs analysis, computer media compilation, limited product trial and product evaluation. Data analysis performed for questionnaire of medium component evaluation is quantitative data analysis, while for questionnaire of medium material evaluation and student’s learning results, which are pre-test and post-test, is qualitative data analysis. The use of the medium can help students to improve their concept understanding of 42.969% and to keep answering with the right answer of 26.563%. The result of medium evaluation questionnaire on media being developed is good with average score of 33.75 from maximum score of 38. This shows that the media is useful to facilitate the quadrilateral concept learning in a classroom

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to analyze the effect of numerical intelligence and self-concept on mathematics achievement motivation. The method used in this research is a survey method. The research sample is selected through Multi Stage Random Sampling totaling 94 students in grade IX of private Junior High School (SMP) in Tebet subdistrict, South Jakarta. Data analysis is made by using multiple regression statistics. The results of the research are: (1) There is a directly significant effect of student's numerical intelligence on mathematics achievement motivation. (2) There is a directly significant effect on student's self-concept on mathematics achievement motivation. (3) There is a jointly significant effect of student’s numerical intelligence and student’s self-concept on mathematics achievement motivation.

Abstract

It is estimated that around 40,000-70,000 children become victims of sexual exploitation and about 100,000 children are trafficked each year. It clearly proves the children’s lack of knowledge about sex education they should have gained in their first year from their caregivers, in this case their mothers. Entering the age of 1-2, children’s curiosity and ability to speak and to remember begin to increase quite well. This is the right time to continuously enrich their vocabularies and hone their ability to remember and speak by introducing body parts like hair, nose, knees, heels, and so on. Autism is a term used to describe a type of pervasive disorder in a child resulting in a disturbance or delay in cognition, language, behavior, communication and social interaction. Providing education and understanding is a special challenge for caregivers. This study illustrates how the role performed and displayed by the caregiver (mother) of autistic individuals in introducing the parts of body. The method used in the study is a qualitative method with case study approach by conducting observation and interview with the caregiver of autistic children. The result of the study indicates that the full role of caregiver (mother) produces autistic children with independent behavior. They can understand their body parts, maintain the hygiene of body parts and understand what body parts that may be touched and not

Abstract

Student’s application skill is something that must be improved in learning mathematics. The lack of relevance of some mathematics teaching materials such as mathematical logic in schools with daily life of students often creates a weakness in mathematics education. This situation encourages an idea that mathematics learning should be contextual. One of alternatives estimated to be able to improve student’s application skill is a realistic learning approach. This research is a classroom action research on the 20 students of class X.1 in SMAN 19 of academic year 2012/2013 in Bekasi regency. The results obtained are: (a) students’ activities have increased in each cycle, with the highest percentage of activity in cycle 3 of 85.26%. While the teacher's activities during the learning process are always based on the planned learning stages. (b) students' application skill before applying realistic learning approach is 31.85%, indicating a very low criterion. (c) The average student’s logic application skill in cycle 1 is 65.42% with enough criterion, cycle 2 is 70,6% with enough criterion, and cycle 3 is 76,10% with high criterion. (c) students’ application skill after applying realistic learning approach shows a high criterion of 75.85% and experiences 44% increase from student’s application before before learning.

Abstract

The background of the research is the moral problems related to the the nation’s characters that occur in Indonesia due to the erosion of religious values resulting from the change of times that is damaging the morale of the students and nation. Education plays a role in shaping student’s good characters. Public Madrasah Tsanawiyah in Sleman, Yogyakarta cultivates religion to form student’s good characters. This research is expected to contribute to the education in providing students with good characters inherent in the student's personality through the habituation process. It is a field research that uses a qualitative descriptive analysis. Research data are collected by observation, interview, and documentation. The data are analyzed by reviewing data, reducing data, coding, checking the validity of data and then drawing a general conclusion from the specifically-studied data

Abstract

This research aims to describe the application of curriculum k13, especially scientific steps on the PAI (Islamic Education) subject in Islamic Elementary School Bina Insani Muslim Jatimulya in South Tambun subdisstrict, Bekasi Regency. The research instruments consist of observation, interview and documentation. The data of the research are analyzed employing a qualitative descriptive technique. The result of the one-month research shows that the scientific steps have been implemented as a whole. However, its implementation is not in accordance with the regulations of Minister of Education and Culture of Republic of Indonesia, consisting of 5 steps: observing, asking, trying, reasoning or associating and communicating. The inadequacy of the scientific steps in PAI learning can be seen in its non-sequential implementation. In the observing step, the aspect of aqidah (faith) is a dominant obstacle because it contains the concept of knowledge that is related to a belief and its abstract character. The discussions in this step tend to be rowdy and not focused. Besides, the imitating activity is only applied to aspects of fiqih (jurisprudence), such as the material of cleaning procedure. In the associating step, especially on the aspects of Al-Qur'an and hadith, students find it difficult to associate the contents of Al-Qur'an with the phenomena in their daily life, especially for students who have just learned to read Al-Qur'an. The last one is communicating ideas has not organized yet and tends to be quiet.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to explain the forms of Learning Media subject with a Project-Based Learning models. In addition, to find out the description of student’s perception in the Project-Based Learning model in the Learning Media subject. The research also aims to find out student’s response to the lecturer’s teaching skill at using the Project-Based Learning model. It is a quantitative descriptive research that uses literature study and survey methods. One of Learning Media subject activities with the Project-Based Learning model is the creation of video tutorials with stages: 1) creating interactive power points using Microsoft Office Power Point application; 2) creating flash using iSpring free 7 application; 3) making a video tutorial using the Screecast-O-Matic application; and 4) making publication through social media Youtube. Student’s perception in the Project-Based Learning model in Learning Media subject is in the good category (very good 30% and good 70%). Next, student's response to the lecturer’s teaching skill at using the Project-Based Learning model is also in the good category (very good 50% and good 50%)
