Abstract

Female adolescents living in orphanages mostly have experienced adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) affecting their lifetime development. In order to recover from ACEs exposure, individual should be going through forgiveness. Hence, the intervention of this study aims to elicit forgiveness and investigate its effect on psychological well-being. There are 15 female orphaned adolescents participating in this study and experiencing at least one ACEs using convenience sampling. Intervention in the form of the Forgiveness Therapy module consists of three main sessions and two follow-up sessions. Measures toward changes in emotional forgiveness were conducted at three time points, and measures on psychological well-being were conducted at two time points. In addition to the Emotional Forgiveness Scale and Psychological Well-Being as quantitative measures, qualitative data were also collected. Results from repeated measure ANOVA showed positive effect of this intervention toward emotional forgiveness over time. Meanwhile, there is no significant improvement in psychological well-being even though the time difference between measures was set more significantly than the measures on emotional forgiveness

Abstract

This study aims to determine the correlation between resilience and subjective well-being in working mothers. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a correlational design. The subjects in this study amounted to 88 people with characteristics including a woman who is married and has children, works in the formal sector, and is at least 21 years old and a maximum of 60 years old. The data collection method in this study used two scales, namely the Subjective Well-Being Scale and the Resilience Scale. The data analysis technique used is the product-moment correlation from Karl Pearson. The results of the analysis of the data obtained provide a relationship coefficient value (rxy) of = 0.580 (p 0.05), which means that there is a significant positive correlation between resilience and subjective well-being.

The questionnaire has sections; section A comprises demographic data of the participants, while section B was used to evoke responses from the participants grounded on the research questions. Analysis was done using frequency counts, percentage of chance, mean, and standard deviation, while T-test was used to test the two (2) hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings discovered that: the impact of corona-virus disease (COVID-19) on SMSE in Lagos State is high; it was also revealed that the level of fear of corona-virus disease (COVID-19) among citizens and the effect on SMSE in Lagos State is high. Abstract

Several students have experienced academic procrastination, particularly in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic. Previous research has been conducted to understand the relationship between academic procrastination and a range of variables, including self-regulated learning, academic stress, and achievement. However, a significant gap exists in terms of analyzing the broader patterns and trends in this field through bibliometric analysis. Therefore, this study aimed to provide a complete picture of academic procrastination and explore hot spots and research trends during Covid-19. The bibliometric VOSviewer and Biblioshiny methods were used to analyze academic procrastination literatures in the Scopus core collection database. The overall characteristics of academic procrastination during this period were summarized by analyzing numbers, published research, countries, institutions, and keywords. A total of 141 articles published in the Scopus database from 2020 to 2022 were analyzed. The result showed the most influential countries were China, Turkey, as well as Indonesia and the United States, which took a prominent lead with 29, 16, and 13 articles published, respectively. Universität Paderborn emerged as the most productive institution, having published 5 articles during covid-19. With the aid of VOSviewer and Biblioshiny tools, this research identified the hotpots of academic procrastination, which were mainly associated with the title analysis, namely self-efficacy, academic motivation, academic achievement, life satisfaction, university students, academic hardiness, psychological wellbeing, followed by self-regulation, anxiety, and internet addiction. Therefore, this research was very useful for scholars and practitioners to comprehensively understand the trend of research on academic procrastination during Covid-19.

Abstract

The study investigated Family type and Family size as correlates of parents'/guardians' disposition towards girl-child education amongst female students in public tertiary institutions in Delta state, Nigeria. Two research aims, with their corresponding advantages were raised and tested at 0.05 alpha levels. Correlational survey design was used with a population was ten thousand five hundred and thirty-six (10,536) female students from three (3) public tertiary institutions, with a sample of 250 female students. The multistage sampling technique was adopted and a questionnaire titled "Family Types, Family size and Socioeconomic Status Questionnaire" (FTFTSSQ) adapted from Ofuani (2013), was used as the instrument and it consisted of three sections, A, B and C, with reliability coefficient of .88. The hypothesis was analysed using linear regression. The results indicated that Family type significantly predicts parents’/guardians’ disposition towards girl-child education. However, family size, does not significantly predict parents’/guardians’ disposition towards girl-child education in tertiary institutions in Delta State. It was concluded that Family type significantly predicts parents’/guardians’ disposition towards girl-child education; while, family size does not significantly predict parents’/guardians’ disposition towards girl-child education. Among the recommendations was that smaller family be encouraged, such as monogamy so as to allow the flow of scarce resources in pursuing the girl-child education in tertiary institutions and also, there was need for smaller family size, as larger family size was perceived to negate a child's outcomes due to scarce resources

Abstract

Currently, the prevalence of violence and abuse presents a significant challenge in the online world. This cyber violence can have adverse psychological effects and jeopardize harmony among different groups. The younger generation, consisting of active internet users, is particularly susceptible to cyber violence. Therefore, this study examines the effectiveness of an online anti-violence education program known as the "Influenced to Influencing Program." This program educates individuals through influencers and mass online campaigns conducted by the younger generation. The Social Learning Theory, where a person's social behavior results from learning, particularly by observing and imitating the actions of others, is used. Furthermore, the study involves 53 participants aged between 13 to 21 years from various regions in Indonesia who actively use social media. The results show that the Influenced to Influencing Program proves to have a positive effect on changes in knowledge (T=-6,406; p0.001) and the attitudes of participants (T=-23,500; p0.055) regarding cyber violence. This program also encourages participants to become influencers by disseminating knowledge about cyber violence to a more extensive audience. Given its effectiveness, the program has the potential to serve as an alternative solution for enhancing young people's knowledge of cyber violence and facilitating its dissemination among a broader population.

Abstract

Several studies have shown the influence of academic wellbeing on academic achievement. However, some other studies do not show the same results. Researchers suspect this is due to the influence of variables that mediate the relationship between the two, namely goal orientation. Through this study, researchers examined the effect of academic wellbeing on academic achievement in students as well as examined the role of goal orientation as a mediator of the relationship between the two variables. 295 students of Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta from various study programs were involved in this research. Academic well-being was measured using the scale of academic well-being, consisting of positive affect, negative affect, and satisfaction dimensions of activities on campus. Goal orientation was measured by the goal orientation scale, consisting of mastery, performance approach, performance avoidant, and work avoidance dimensions. Academic achievement was obtained from the student cumulative achievement index (IP). The results showed that there is an influence of several dimensions of student wellbeing on goal orientation and academic achievement. In addition, this research also found that in the goal orientation variable, only the mastery dimension is predicted to play a role as a mediator of the effect of student wellbeing on academic achievement.
