Abstract

This research is purposed to describe the form and meaning of motive, and also function of woven cloth from Ampalu Lareh Sago Halaban. Research method that used here was qualitative research with descriptive approach. Research finding shows that the form and meaning of motive of woven cloth from Ampalu Lareh Sago Halaban come from natural objects, and the meaning is taken from Minangkabau philosophy that is “Alam Takambang Jadi Guru/Learning from Nature”. The form of woven cloth motive from Ampalu Lareh Sago Halaban was based on 8 floral motives, 2 fauna motives, and 5 geometric motives. Functions of woven cloth in Nagari Ampalu Lareh Sago Halaban were clothing and cultural functions.Keywords: form, meaning, and functions of woven cloth of Nagari Ampalu Lareh Sago Halaban

Abstract

This work aims to preserve the cultural and handicraft production in order to continue to exist back Galogandang society whose existence is decreased by the development of a functional form of the pot as cooking utensils into decorative objects. Pot decorated with ornaments sticking interesting, to captivate the public and able to penetrate the national and even international markets. Abstract

This research was intended to describe the trend of Japanese cartoon toward the students’ tendency in drawing comic at SMAN 1 Painan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan. This research applied qualitative method and descriptive approach. The subject of the research was the students at SMAN 1 Painan Kabupaten Pesisir Selatan and Cultural Art teachers. The sources of the data were in the forms of written note, recording, photograph, video and the cartoon strips made by the students, and the students’ attendance list. The result of the research indicated that the students were more creative to make Japanese and Indonesian comic pictures. This could be seen from the characters of the cartoon which were in the form of strips. To draw comic strips, some students imitated pictures and some others did not. Then to draw pictures, the students did not copy the models, but when they did, they make them more exciting and funnier.Key Terms: The tendency of the students at SMAN 1 Painan in drawing comic

Abstract

The purpose of this final assignment/scription is to visualize superhero characters in action figure form that had been created by writer. By casting technique, writer creates three superhero characters that are Kapten Milo, Aries, and AngkasaResah, each of them is created in the form of normal human anatomy, chibi form and in the form of capsules. From these superhero characters, it provides some action figures of superhero that are: Kapten Milo, Kapten Milo Chibi, Kapten Milo Hunt, Milo Cahaya Bulan, Kapsul Kapten Milo, Kapsul Milo Hunt, Kapsul Milo Cahaya Bulan, Aries, Chibi Aries, Badai Aries, Aries Pelangi Hitam, Kapsul Aries, Kapsul Badai Aries, Kapsul Aries Pelangi Hitam, Angkasa Resah, R-Resah, Ultimate Resah, dan Kapsul Angkasa Resah, Kapsul R-Resah, Kapsul Ultimate Resah. The third character of the superhero Kapten Milo, Aries, and Angkasa Resah appear as heroes who protect and save people from a group of evilwhere come from the criminal organization.Kata Kunci: Superhero, Action Figure, Teknik Casting

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the name, placement and meaning of Minangkabau traditional carvings on the walls of rumah gadang Sicamin. This research is qualitative method. Research done by observations, interview, and documentation. Data analysis done by collecting data, reducing data, presenting data and drawing the conclusion. validity of data tested with triangulation techniques. The study found that there are 30 names carved of 40 shapes carved, later found 25 meaning carvings of 30 names carved. These carvings were made in 1405 in large and small fields, placed vertically, horizontally and diagonally on the wall rumah gadang Sicamin, except the rear wall rumah gadang.Kata kunci : ukiran, rumah gadang Sicamin

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to know the differences of the learning result of the students by using project based learning and conventional learning in grade X of SMA N 2 Solok on Visual Art Education. This research applied used a quasi-experimental quantitative research which drafts Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design. The populations of this research were all students of class X SMAN 2 Solok. The samples of this research were class X2 as experimental (PjBL) and class X3 as control (conventional), the samples were taken by using random sampling techniques. Based on the hypothesis test conducted that the tvalue=18.369 and ttable=2.040. It means tvalue>ttable, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted, means that the average (mean) value of the experimental class and the control class are not identical or different. It can be concluded that there are the differences of the learning result of the students by using project based learning and conventional learning in grade X of SMA N 2 Solok on Visual Art Education.Keywords: Project Based Learning, Conventional Learning, Visual Art Education

Abstract

This study aims to determine the difference result of student by using thelearning strategies contextual teaching and learning on subjects visual art class vii at SMPN 14 Sijunjung. The types of study is quasi experimental design with pretest-postest only control group design, determination of the sample using technic of purposive sampling on students class vii at SMPN 14 Sijunjung. The research findings suggest that, the results of t-test calculation obtained thitung =13.000 and ttabell =1.721 , so that thitung > ttabel so, HO is denied. It means the average (mean) of value experimental group and control group are not identical or different. So, we can conclude that the use of Contextual Teaching and Learning give possitive feed back to increasing the learning outcome the student class vii SMPN 14 Sijunjung on subjects visual art.Keynote: strategies CTL, learning outcome, visual art

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe design, function and meaning of traditional dress, Pangulu. This research used kualitative reseach metode with descriptive approach, by observing traditional dress of Pangulu in Kanagarian Sungai Janiah, Kecamatan Gunung Talang, Kabupaten Solok Propinsi Sumatra Barat. The data were taken by observing the traditional dress itself and getting information from informan. They are the pangulu, wali nagari, and the members of community. Those deta were prosessed and researched in the form of notes (image record), taken from the informan that have been interviewed, documentation and literature study. The finding of this research showed that traditional dress of Pangulu in kanagarian Sungai Janiah consist of deta, baju lapang, salendang, sarawa lapang (celana longgar), sesampiang, cawek (ikat pinggang), keris, tungkek (tongkat) dan tarompa (sendal). The characteristic of these stuff is in deta, wich was designed like gonjong rumah gadang. In edition, baju lapang and sarawa lapang with no motif traditional Minangkabau. The function of Pangulu’s traditional dress is as a protector, as a symbol of identity. Furthermore the social function of this dress as a connector among the members of community. The traditional dress of Pangulu also has a meaningful with the rule of life of a Pangulu. It stuff of Pangulu traditional dress has a meaning as a symbol of the role of pangulu itself; a symbol of attitude and prohibition as a pangulu.Kata kunci : Makna, Pakaian Adat, Pangulu

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to investigate the effect of prezi learning media toward student’s learning outcome in arts and culture subject at grade XI of SMAN 9 Padang. This research is quasi experiment al research and the technique of selecting sampling. Research finding shows that there is an effect of prezi program toward students’ learning outcome of arts and culture subject at grade XI of SMAN 9 Padang. Based on t-test calculation, thitung = 16.703 and ttabel = 1.694, it means that thitung > ttabel thus there is a positive effect in using prezi learning media toward students’ learningoutcome of arts and culture subject at grade XI of SMAN 9 Padang.Kata Kunci : Media pembelajaran, Prezi, Hasil Belajar, Seni Rupa
