Abstract

The importance of measuring service quality perceived by customers is an issue since the service quality is a key to success in service oriented industry. The estimation of service quality should be carried out with suitable measurement scales according to the types of service provided. To the best of authors’ knowledge, there have been little discussion about the applications of interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy sets- based evaluation in measuring service quality. This paper proposes an evaluation for service quality of five vehicle insurance companies using interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy entropy measure. Linguistic data were collected from customers using a questionnaire. An averaged interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy number is used to construct decision matrix.  Interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy weighted averaging operator is used to aggregate the interval-valued intuitionistic fuzzy numbers for alternatives. It is found that PCF Insurance was evaluated as the best vehicle insurance company in providing service quality to customersDOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ij-ict.v2i1.1525

Abstract

Knowledge Representation (KR) is a fascinating field across several areas of cognitive science and computer science. It is very hard to identify the requirement of a combination of many techniques and inference mechanism to achieve the accuracy for the problem domain. This research attempted to examine those techniques, and to apply them to implement a Cognitive Hybrid Sentence Modeling and Analyzer. The purpose of developing this system is to facilitate people who face the problem of using English language in daily life.

Abstract

Previous predictions about future of computers, such as Moore’s law are analyzed, at first. Then developments in basic science such as quantum physics, spintronics, and also developments in technologies such as biology, nanoelectronics, photonics and nanophotonics, communications technologies, and medical engineering that are applicable in computers, are introduced. Then expected future goals are discussed: Reduction of cost and weight, increase of processing speed, increase of intelligence and integration with other systems.DOI: http://dx.doi.org/10.11591/ij-ict.v2i3.4726

Abstract

This paper gives an understanding of what possibilities Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) have when using shortrange wireless communications protocols. There advantages are used to facilitate versatility in the movements of health care patients. The paper investigates the feasibility of using the ZigBee protocol, givean analysis of methods for collection of received data from multi sensor environment, and mechanisms for privacy and data protection by using encryption techniques. This characteristics are applied on previously developed collaborative healthcare system model (COHESY).COHESY is aimed at continuous real time remote patients’ health monitoring.

Abstract

In this paper, a low pass filter based on T-Shaped resonator is presented. The T-Shaped resonator consists of meandered lines and rectangular patches. Also, the LC model and transfer function of the proposed resonator is presented. For suppression of spurious harmonics, a bandstop structure consists of hexangular patches and open stubs has been utilized. Finally, the wide stopband microstrip lowpass filter with cutoff frequency 2.72 GHz has been simulated, fabricated and measured. The LPF has good characteristics such as wide stopband and insertion loss lower than 0.18 dB in the passband region. The rejection level is less than -20 dB from 2.98 up to 21.3 GHz. The filter size is 10.5 mm×12.7 mm, or 0.131 λg× 0.158 λg, where λg is the guided wavelength. The measured and simulated results of the filter is in good agreement with each other, which show the merits of low insertion loss and wide stopband.

Abstract

Graphs have become the dominant life-form of many tasks as they advance a structural system to represent many tasks and their corresponding relationships. A powerful role of networks and graphs is to bridge local feats that exist in vertices or nodal agents as they blossom into patterns that helps explain how nodes and their corresponding edges impacts a complex effect that ripple via a graph. User cluster are formed as a result of interactions between entities – such that many users today, hardly categorize their contacts into groups such as “family”, “friends”, “colleagues”. The need to analyze such user social graph via implicit clusters, enables the dynamism in contact management. Study seeks to implement this dynamism via a comparative study of the deep neural network and friend suggest algorithm. We analyze a user’s implicit social graph and seek to automatically create custom contact groups using metrics that classify such contacts based on a user’s affinity to contacts. Experimental results demonstrate the importance of both the implicit group relationships and the interaction-based affinity in suggesting friends.

Abstract

Boneh and Shacham gave a nice survey on four variants (Batch RSA, Multi-Prime RSA, Multi-Power RSA, and Rebalanced RSA). Batch RSA and Multi-Prime RSA were then combined to increase the decryption/signature generation performance. Here in this paper we further tried to increase the encryption/ signature verification performance. The proposed scheme is semantically secure also.

Abstract

To increase the network lifetime of WSNs is a major concern. Network lifetime can be increased by reducing energy consumptions through MAC protocols periodic and a- periodic sleep mode mechanisms. The short duty cycle makes sensors have low energy consumption rate but increases the transmission delay and long duty cycle makes the sensor to increase the energy consumption and reduce the delay. Duty cycle need to be adaptively varied to reduce the idle listening. In the proposed Adaptive Duty cycle MAC (ADMAC) protocol, duty cycle is varied by taking nodes rate of energy consumption and filled queue length in account. It reduces the delay and energy spent by reducing the idle listening. ADMAC is realized in NS2 and its performance is compared with SMAC.

Abstract

In recent years, on the Internet, there is a real phenomenon: the development of social networks that are becoming more popular and more used. Social networks have millions of users worldwide. This provides an opportunity for companies to reach out a large and diverse audience for their advertising campaigns. They do this by creating and spreading content across the social network, which will increase the chance of visibility for their contents, which for them is the assurance of being popular. Every content requires time to reach a specific destination on the networks. In this article, we study competition between several contents that look for attracting more consultations, each characterized by some given popularity. There is competition between the contents of a limited set of destinations. We first model our system, we then study the competition between contents by using the game theory to analyze this behavior. We finally provide numerical results, which provide insights into the effect of various parameters of the system.
