Abstract

Metabolic disorders in blood sugar levels are caused by damage to insulin secretion so that it affects energy production. Fatigue is one of the complaints and symptoms of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) patients. This study aims to analyze the relationship between energy management and fatigue in patients with diabetes mellitus. This study used a correlational design with a cross sectional approach. Calculation of the sample in this study using the Slovin formula, which obtained 34 respondents with diabetes mellitus at the Kejayan Health Center, Pasuruan Regency using purposive sampling technique. Data collection in this study used an energy management questionnaire and Multidimensional Fatigue Invantory (MFI20). The results show that in energy management, energy management in patients with diabetes mellitus is obtained with a good category of 55,9%. On fatigue, the median result is 60.50 with a min-max value of 34-73. The correlation test showed that there was a relationship between energy management and fatigue (p = 0,033, r = -0,366, = 0,05). There is a negative correlation which shows that the higher the energy management, the lower the fatigue felt. Fatigue felt by diabetic patients does not go away easily so that energy management must be carried out properly. It is expected that diabetes mellitus patients maintain good energy management. It is a concern for nurses in improving energy management of diabetes mellitus patients to reduce the fatigue they feel.

Abstract

The gap that occurs at the time of handover of the patient is due to incomplete communication so that it can cause disruption in the continuity of nursing which has the potential to endanger the patient. The implementation of patient handover (handover) basically transfers care information and responsibilities from one nurse to another (between shifts) of nurses so that they can provide safe and quality care. This study aims to determine the relationship between nurse caring on the implementation of SBAR communication during hand over cardiac patients in the cardiovascular inpatient ward at Royal Prima Hospital. The research design is descriptive analytic with a cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted in October 2021. The sample in this study were all 32 nurses who served in the cardiovascular inpatient ward. The results of the chi-square test obtained a value of p <0.002, meaning that there is a relationship between nurse caring on the implementation of SBAR communication during hand over cardiac patients in the cardiovascular inpatient ward. It is hoped that respondents can add insight into nurse caring for the implementation of SBAR communication during hand over of cardiac patients in the cardiovascular inpatient ward.

Abstract

Diabetes was a disease caused by disturbances in the absorption of blood sugar by the body, resulting in high levels in the blood. The International Diabetes Federation (IDF) estimated that there were at least 463 million people aged 20-79 years in the world suffering from DM in 2019. This study aimed to determine the relationship between lifestyle and the occurrence of diabetes mellitus. This research is a type of comparative research with a retrospective study design. This research was conducted at RSU Daerah Dr R.M Djoelham and the time of the study was from Augustus-October 2021. The population in this study were all outpatients at the outpatient clinic as many as 143 people and the size of the sample in this study was 40 people. The sampling technique used non-random sampling by accidental sampling. This study uses primary data and secondary data. The results of this study indicate that there is no relationship between diet, exercise and work with diabetes mellitus where the p-value of diet = 0.490 (> 0.05), the p-value of exercise = 0.744 (> 0.05) and the p-value of work = 0.337 (> 0.05), Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that there is no relationship between lifestyle and the incidence of diabetes mellitus. It is recommended for respondents to continue to strive to increase knowledge about the application of a healthy lifestyle, increase compliance in carrying out treatment therapy programs, and implement a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

Transmission of HIV/AIDS occurs through body fluids containing the HIV virus, namely through sexual intercourse, both homosexual and heterosexual, injection needles in narcotics users, blood transfusions, and from HIV-infected mothers to their babies born. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between spiritual level and the quality of life of people living with HIV/AIDS (PLWHA) at the Medan Plus Foundation, Medan. The design of this research is quantitative with observational analysis using a cross sectional approach. HIV/AIDS infection has now affected all groups of people, both high-risk groups and the general. The results of the study showed that the number of respondents with a low spiritual level in PLWHA was 16 respondents, all of them with poor quality of life were 15 respondents (68.1%), and 1 respondent had a good quality of life (4.5%). Meanwhile, as many as 6 respondents who have a good spiritual level with a quality of life of PLWHA less than 2 respondents (9.0%), and 4 respondents who have a good quality of life (18.1%). Abstract

Deep breathing relaxation therapy can reduce blood pressure both systolic and diastolic pressure. Relaxation therapy diaphragm breathing techniques are very well done every day by people with high blood pressure to help relax blood vessel muscles so that the elasticity of the arteries that help lower blood pressure can be maintained. The purpose of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of breath therapy in reducing blood pressure in hypertensive patients at Royal Prima Hospital Medan. This is a quasi-expression research with cross sectional research design. The research populations were the average number of hypertensive patients at Royal Prima Hospital Medan in consisting of 73 people. The 22 samples were drawn using the accidental sampling technique. The results of the study on blood pressure variables before respiratory therapy showed that 15 people (68.2%) had normal blood pressure. Variable blood pressure after therapy breath in revealed that 15 people (68.2%) in normal condition were of 1 people (4.5%) and on weight was 6 people (27.3%). The results of the t test Test with a correlation of 0.001 or 0.1% with a significance value of 0.1% <5%, means that there is effects of deep breath therapy on decreasing blood pressure in patients with hypertension. The respondents are expected to apply breath therapy in well and regularly every day so that there is a drop in blood pressure to the normal level in hypertensive patients.
