Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the performance of the Padang Disaster Management Agency in coordinating among stakeholders in disaster management in the city of Padang. The research method used in this study is qualitative research. Data collection techniques in this study were conducted by interview and documentation study. The research was conducted at the Padang Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) office, Padang Social Service office, Padang Search and Relief Agency office, and Padang Red Cross (PMI) Headquarters. The technique of selecting informants that the researchers used was purposive sampling. The results of the study showed that the function of coordination carried out by the BPBD of Padang City could be said to be effective. This is because all stakeholders are involved in handling disasters, especially during emergency response. Among the forms of coordination is the involvement of the Rapid Reaction Team (TRC) which plays a role in identifying disaster status so that handling can be quickly carried out. Furthermore BPBD along with relevant stakeholders also coordinated to carry out joint handling in providing assistance to disaster victims.

Abstract

Stroke can affect the whole body such as paralysis, cognitive deficits, speech difficulties, emotional difficulties, pain, and problems in daily life. The recovery process in post-stroke patients take a long time and also require social support because they are not able to solve their own problems. Data WHO (2012) show every years as many 17 million cause of death in the world because of stroke. Anxiety is a feeling of fear that is not clear and is not supported by the situation. When we feel anxious, the individual feels uncomfortable, afraid or may have a bad feeling. Social support for the sufferers urgently needed as long as the sufferers still able to understand the meaning of that support as an advocate for live.This study aimed to determine the social support relation with anxienty stroke patient. This research is a Cross-Sectional with Accidental Sampling method. This research do at National Stroke Hospital Bukittinggi with 160 respondens. The statistical test used is Chi-Square. The result of statistical test showed a significant between the social support relation with anxiety stroke patient with p-value = 0,000 (α ≤ 0,05).The hospital is expected to urge the family to more actively in volve in caring for stroke patients and provide counseling to them in order to better understand the importance of any rehabilitation program recommended.

Abstract

This research aims to describe the legal awareness of Kuranji people in obeying Spatial Plan of Padang City. This research used qualitative methods with a descriptive analytical approach. This Research conducted in the subdistrict of Kuranji Padang City. The location is chosen because it is one of the agricultural allocation area which is stipulated by Perda No. 4 year 2012 about Spatial Plan of Padang City. The selection of the informant in this study used purposive sampling techniques. Research findings suggest that: 1) the development of Spatial Plan of Padang City in Kuranji sub-district. To control and defend agricultural land, Padang city government is more focused on the approach of law by making regulations that are prohibiting over the function of agricultural land, especially the field of irrigated technical land. 2) The level of public law is still low in implementing Spatial Plan of Padang City, especially in maintaining the existence of food farming land in Kuranji sub-district. 3) Government efforts to foster public law awareness of Spatial Plan of implementation of Padang City in Kuranji sub-district namely: a) conducting socialization, b) Conducting supervision and control, and C) The imposition of incentives and disincentive in Land utilization.

Abstract

Silokek Geopark is located in Sijunjung Regency with an area of ​​± 1300 km2. Silokek Geopark has been designated as the National Geopark on 30 November 2018 with 25 geodiversity sites, 12 biodiversity sites and 17 cultural diversity sites. After being designated as the National Geopark, the next hope is to be designated as the UNESCO Global Geopark. Based on this, a study was conducted which aimed to analyze the condition of the Geopark Silokek based on UNESCO Global Geopark criteria and to find out the challenges in the development of Silopek Geopark. The study was conducted in May-August 2018 in Sumpur Kudus District and Sijunjung District. Primary data is obtained from field observations and interviews with relevant agencies, while secondary data is obtained based on searches of technical documents and journals. From the results of the study it is known that several UNESCO criteria that need to be improved and disemployed are the management of Geopark Silokek, aspects of economic development and aspects of education. This improvement can be done by revising the structure of the Silokek Geopark Management Agency, building geotrack lines and supporting facilities, increasing community empowerment and overcoming environmental problems on the Batang Kuantan River.

Abstract

The rapid development of the area of ​​cocoa plantations in West Sumatra is inseparable from the high desire of the community.a. This study aims to determine the level of adoption of cocoa bean cultivation and fermentation technology, see the relationship of relative benefits, relationship of level of suitability, relationship of complexity, relationship to ease of testing, and relationship between ease of observation and adoption of cocoa bean cultivation and fermentation technology innovations. The study was conducted from September to November 2016 in Sungai Geringging District, Padang Pariaman Regency. Sampling was carried out with proportional simple random sampling.. Primary data collection is done by questionnaire or questionnaire. Data collected are Characteristics of respondents, level of adoption of cocoa bean cultivation and fermentation technology innovations, relationship of relative benefits, relationship of degree of conformity, relationship of complexity level, relationship of ease of testing, and relationship of ease of observation with the adoption of seed cultivation and fermentation technology innovations cocoa. Data were analyzed descriptively and statistically by Spearman's rank correlation test. The results showed that the nature of innovation properties that have a significant relationship with the adoption of cocoa bean cultivation and fermentation technology innovation are the degree of conformity with the correlation value of 0.212 which has a low positive correlation, and the level of ease with a correlation value of 0.258, positively low correlation.

Abstract

The Government of West Sumatra has gradually encouraged the development of organic agriculture, both before and after the organic village program was launched by the Ministry of Agriculture. This study aims to determine: (1) farmers 'perceptions of organic farming systems, (2) farmers' understanding of organic farming systems (3) and the level of application of organic farming systems. The assessment was carried out in March - July 2017 in 3 (three) districts in West Sumatra, namely districts that implemented organic village programs in 2016 and which developed organics through programs before 2016. In each district, one executive group of farmers was selected as an event organic village program in 2016 (in this study it is referred to as a new organic village) and one farmer group that implements organic programs before 2016 (in this study it is referred to as an old organic village). Selected districts are Padang Pariaman, Solok and Limapuluh Kota Regencies. Sampling is done by purposive sampling system. Primary data collection is done by Focus Group Discussion and individual interviews. The data collected are farmers' internal characteristics, farmers' perceptions of organic farming, farmers' understanding of organic farming systems, and the level of application of farmers to organic farming systems. Data were analyzed descriptively and statistically by testing the paired samples T-Test and Mann Whitney difference test to compare between farmers implementing organic village programs and non organic village programs. The results showed that (1) farmers 'perceptions of the nature of the innovation of the organic farming system as a whole, approached a score of 4, namely lower costs, higher production, more profitable, according to farmers' needs, easy to implement, easy to try, and easily observed results. (2) farmers' understanding of the overall components of the organic farming system is high, with a value of 78.55. While the 5 highest understanding variables of farmers are harvest and post-harvest handling and land management and land fertility. The understanding of farmers that still needs to be improved is the understanding of farmers on the conversion period, where some farmers are not very aware of the objectives, and the duration of land conversion even though it has been implemented, (3) the level of application of organic farming system components to organic village farmers is lower (73, 93%) than old organic village farmers (93.21%).

Abstract

Nagari Rancak is the name for the nagari who won achievements in the village race with the level of West Sumatra Province as an instrument to evaluate the development of the village (nagari) in accordance with Minister of Home Affairs Regulation No. 81 of 2015. Nagari rancak who has achieved various achievements is assumed to have implemented Nagari in accordance with the principles of good local governance and collaborative governance. Based on these phenomena, the objectives of this study are: (1) to describe the profile of the nagari rancak after the enactment of Law Number 6 of 2014 concerning Villages in West Sumatra Province; (2) identify stakeholder actors in the nagari rancak in West Sumatra Province; (3) describe the interaction of stakeholders in collaborative governance in the nagari in West Sumatra Province, and (4) describe the success of collaborative governance in nagari rancak in West Sumatra Province. This study included the type of qualitative research with descriptive analysis. Data sources are stakeholders in the administration of the nagari government as informants and the nagari assessment team is ambitious as triangulation. Data collection through interviews, documentation and observation. The research location was in 9 (nine) nagari which won 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the provincial nagari competition in 2015, 2106 and 2017. The results of the study found that: (1) Ambiguous Nagari has varied economic potential, has many achievements and variations actors who collaborate in organizing the nagari government. (2) Governance actors collaborating with the nagari government starting from the nagari, sub-district, district, provincial and national levels. The realization of this collaboration was greatly influenced by the existence of self-disclosure and initiatives from Wali Nagari and Alat Nagari. (3) Collaborative actor governance occurs at every stage of the administration of nagari governance, namely planning, budgeting, implementing, monitoring and accountability. However, the most intensive actor interaction at the planning and implementation stages of programs and activities at the nagari level. (6) Collaborative success can be seen from eight indicators according to Goldsmith and Kettl (2009), namely networked structure, commitment to common purpose, trust among participants, governance, access to authority, distributive accountability, informant sharing, and access to resources.

Abstract

Cervix cancer has become women’s health problem that should get serious concern. One of the causes of death from cervical cancer is delayed detection. Data WHO in 2010, 500.000 new cases with death 280.000 suffered was happened every year in the world. These supposed to be minimized by primary prevention that is Pap Smear or IVA Test. The purpose of study was to determine mother motivation with of early cervix cancer detection through inspection of visual acid acetate (IVA). This study used cross sectional method. The study was conducted at Work Area Of Kebun Sikolos Comunity Healthy Center in March 2018. The research Sampling is eproductive age of women as many 138 people with purposif sampling technique. Data collection were managed by using questionnaire. Data analysis used chi-square statistic test. The result test show a influence between mother motivation with of early cervix cancer detection through inspection of visual acid acetate (IVA) with p-value 0,043 (α≤0,05). Ecpected to Comunity Healty Center to Improved knowledge of correct IVA examination procedures through the promotion of programmed and repeated health.
