Abstract

ABSTRACTThe problem of this research is:1.How are the end-of-year holiday activities, especially the expresscurricular activities of a short-term boarding school at SDN 101821 Pancurbatu in Semester 2T.P.2018/2019? 2. How is the correlation between extra-curricular a short-term Islamic boardingschool with student learning achievement, especially in the field of Islamic studies at SDN 101821Pancurbatu in Semester 2 T.P.2018/2019? 3. How is the relationship between the extra-curricularactivities of a short-term Islamic boarding school in the end-of-year holiday and the improvement oflearning achievements of grade IV students, especially in the field of Islamic studies at SDN101821 Pancurbatu in Semester 2 T.P.2018/2019? Objectives of Action Research:1.Explaining theholiday activities of the end of the school year ;2.Explaining the improvement of learningachievement, especially in the field of Islamic studies in grade 4 students at SDN 101821Pancurbatu in Semester 2 T.P.2018/2019.20 3. Obtaining data on the relationship between the endof-year holiday activities and the learning achievements of grade 4 students at SDN 101821Pancurbatu in Semester 2 T.P.2018/2019.This study used three rounds of action research. Eachround consists of four stages: design, activities and observations, reflections, and revisions. Dataobtained in the form of formative test results, observation sheets of teaching and learning activities.From the results of analysts obtained that the conclusions that can be drawn from this PTK are:1.Activities of grade 4 students of SDN 101821 Pancurbatu tend to increase with learning usingsimulation of a short-term Islamic boarding school activities 2.Cooperative skills of grade 4students of SDN 101821 Pancurbatu during the learning process using simulation of flash a shortterm boarding school activities can appear and most showed a significant increase in Islamiclearning achievements .3.Islamic learning achievements in grade 4 students at SDN 101821Pancurbatu experienced a significant increase after learning through learning using simulations of ashort-term boarding school activities It is recommended that the learning field of Islamic studies istimed to be replaced with innovative, learning techniques such as using simulated a short-termIslamic boarding school activities.Keywords: Islamic religious worship, a short-term Islamic boarding school

Abstract

ABSTRACTThis study aims to improve student learning outcomes in learning English by using themedia of English songs. The subjects of this study were 27 students of class VIII-2 ofSMP Negeri 2 Mardingding, Mardingding District, Karo Regency, consisting of 11 malestudents and 16 female students. The research method applied is a classroom actionresearch method. Through two learning cycles, each cycle is carried out with planning,implementation, observation and reflection activities. Based on the results of dataanalysis, it is known that by using the media of English songs in English lessons in classVIII-2 of SMP Negeri 2 Mardingding, Mardingding District, Karo Regency, 2015/2016Academic Year, mastery of students' vocabularies has increased from Cycle First toCycle Second. Mastery of students' vocabularies in the first cycle obtained an averagescore of 30 with the percentage of the acquisition score of the total score of 30% and thisis in the very poor category (not good). And far from KKM (70). In the second cycle ofvocabulary mastery students obtained an average score of 80 with a percentage of theacquisition score of a total score of 80% and this is in a good category and hasexceeded KKM (70). So, the increase in students' vocabularies mastery from cycle I tocycle II was 50%, while student learning outcomes after using English songs as media inlearning English also increased. Likewise, the number of students who have completedthe KKM has reached the indicators of success, where the standard is 80%, while theacquisition is 96%. Abstract

In character building education and moral values there are significant things that are writtenin the meaning of folklore as a characteristic of a culture. The aim of this study is to describefolklore as a way to build character education and increasing moral values into an education.SIGALE-GALE PEOPLE'S STORIES FROM TAPANULI UTARA as source of data in thisresearch. After analyzing and recording important points in the story through a qualitativedescriptive method, several things can be obtained that contain character building educationand moral values in the SIGALE-GALE story: individual, social, and religious moral values.Which can be applied in attitudes and behaviors in character building education.This research uses the technique of content analysis, which is a research analysis that revealsthe ideas of the author or creator, both manifestly and latently. There for, it can be concludedthat the SIGALE-GALE folklore apart from being an education to build character and moralvalues can also be a means of getting to know ancestors and their stories for futuregenerations.Keywords: character buiding education, moral value, folklore, SIGALE-GALE.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aims to describe the creativity of English teachers when SMK Pencawan Medan grade X use learning media. This research is descriptive. The data is obtained through interviews. The data analysis followed some steps, namely collecting data, reducing, display data, data verification and create reports. The results showed that teachers employed the various teaching-learning media in ELT classes. English teachers used various media to make it easier for students to learn and understand the teaching materials. The media include audio, visual, and audio visual. The most media used in the ELT classes were audio and visual. A small part of the media is produced through internet sources. However, the teacher’s implementation method is not optimal. This can be seen from the imperfect application of the PowerPoint medium when the teacher uses the power point medium. Not every day teachers use the learning medium to achieve their learning goals. Based on the conclusion above, the researchers give suggestion to the teachers should always looking for creative new things and create active, innovative, and fun learning, and also motivate students to seriously participate in learning even though they study through online. Abstract

Abstract This research was Conducted by using Library Research Method. Based on the problem of the study above, the objective of the study are to find out the moral values found in the Batak Toba’s Batu gantung folklore and to find out the moral values found in Batak Toba’s Batu Gantung applied in Students’ character building. In this research, the writer used qualitative method because this study focuses on the evaluation or interpretation of the written fabric in context. Materials can encompass textbooks, newspapers, magazines, papers, films, manuscripts, articles, and many others. To achieve easiness of this study and to reply the research problem, after the data have been collected, then the creator analyzed them systematically. After analyzing the folklore, the researcher found some moral lessons and character building education such as; kindness,compassion, courage, enthusiasm, justice, responsibility, and caring. Abstract

ABSTRACT This research aims to analyze and classify the errors made by students in writing descriptive text. This research used descriptive qualitative method. The participants were the X-1 grade Senior High School students of SMA Swasta Puteri Sion, in the academic year of 2020/2021. Data for this research were taken by doing a task. The researchers gave a paper about descriptive text which has no punctuations on it, then sudents answered it. This study showed that there were four errors that students made which are addition, misinformation, misordering and omission. The percentage error of addition was 23,5%, error of misinformation 21,3%, error of misordering 18,4% and error of omission 36,8%. According to the percentage, it could be concluded if error of omission is the most dominant error by students with 36,8% and error of misordering is the lowest error students made with 18,4%. Abstract

Penelitian ini berfokus kepada bagaimana upaya untuk meningkatkan Kemampuan guru di UPT SMP Negeri 41 Medan Pada Semester 2 T.P.2019/2020 dalam menyusun tes hasil belajar akhir? Tujuan yang ingin dicapai adalah agar guru – guru di UPT SMP Negeri 41 Medan mampu menyusun tes hasil belajar akhir. Sementara, manfaat penelitian ini adalah supaya guru – guru di UPT SMP Negeri 41 Medan memiliki tes hasil belajar akhir semester. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Penelitian Tindakan Sekolah (PTS). Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan dua siklus terdiri dari perencanaan, pelaksanaan, observasi , dan refleksi. Guru yang dianggap memiliki kemampuan di dalam menyusun tes apabila hasilnya memenuhi kriteria tes yang layak seperti kesesuaian bunyi butir dengan tujuan pembelajaran, kesesuaian bunyi butir tes dengan aspek perilaku yang diukur ( C1 – C6 ), penggunaan Bahasa Indonesia yang baik dan benar dan sesuai dengan EYD Tes dikatakan layak apabila minimal 65 % kriteria bisa terpenuhi. Ini terbukti pada tabel siklus II dari 6 guru yang diteliti dalam penyusunan tes ini 100 % guru sudah tuntas dalam menyusun tes profesional. Ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan mutu dalam penuyusunan tes oleh guru di UPT SMP Negeri 41 Medan pada semester 2 Tahun Pelajaran 2019/2020. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini bahwa penerapan workshop dalam menyusun tes hasil belajar akhir semester 2 sangat efektif.

Abstract

Abstract The research objectives are to find the abilty of the students out in using the personal pronouns in the Narrative Text at Grade Ten of SMA Swasta Pencawan Medan During Covid-19 Pandemic and to know more about the the factors that affect the ability of the students in using the personal pronouns in the Narrative text. The research subject is 37 students. They are from X-Science class of SMA Swasta Pencawan Medan in school years 2020/2021. There are 18 students who get very good score (score: 80-100). It can be stated into percentage form, there are 48.65 % of students who can get very good scores. Meanwhile there are 13 students who get good score (score: 70-79). It can be stated into percentage form that there are 35.14 % of students can achieve good score. 4 students get fair score (score: 60-69). It can be stated into percentage form, that there are 10.81 % of the students who can achieve fair scores. 2 students get low score (score: 50-59). It can be stated into percentage form that there are 5.41 % who get low scores. The total scores of the students are 2,870 and the mean scores is 77.57. It can be concluded that the students score generally is above KKM (Minimum Criteria of Mastery Learning). There are some factors that affect the abilty of the students in using the personal pronoun in the narrative text, they are: the students’ interested in learning narrative text, facilities in the school or used by the English teachers, students’ motivation, adequate time, and due to covid-19 pandemic, so the students’ have been joining virtual class (online class) until now. According to the students’ opinion, Virtual class is not very effective for students in learning English, especially when the students learn about the personal pronoun in narrative text. Abstract

The number of immigrants increases tremendously in Taiwan. These recent immigrants originate from a variety of ethnicities; some are Han Chinese from Mainland China, others are mainly from Southeast Asian countries, with Vietnamese as the largest group, followed by Indonesians, Thai, and then Philippines. They brought with them their native languages and cultures (Chen,2010). Kuo (2008) found no difference in the lexical development of 2-6- year-old children of Vietnamese mothers and Taiwanese mothers, but children of Indonesian mothers were found to be slower (Kuo, 2015). This study aim to evaluate the the vocabulary size in Indonesian, Mandarin, and Taiwanese for children of Indonesian immigrants in Taiwan. The researcher investigated whether Indonesian mothers in Taiwan with limited Mandarin proficiency are able to provide the kind of input to facilitate their children’s Indonesian, Mandarin and Taiwanese acquisition or not.This study used Peabody Picture Vocabulary Test to assess their lexical development in Indonesian and Mandarin. The Taiwanese language measure tool is an application developed by Kuo (2017). This study revealed that the vocabulary score of Indonesian score were found to be lower than Mandarin and Taiwanese score and Mandarin score higher than Taiwanese score. The factors related to children’s lexical development were also investigated no correlation between Indonesian mother’s with their children in Indonesian language, because most of them communicate with their limited Mandarin or Taiwanese. Finally, this research should help people to have a better understanding about the phenomenon of multilingual family, where multilingual has become common in the society. Abstract

This research presents a research report on students’achievement in writing narrative text by using clustering technique between two groups: experimental and control group. The design of this study is experimental group. The population of this study is eleven grade students of SMK Sandhy Putra 2 Medan in the academic year 2017/2018. The samples of this research were the students of Class X-TKJ1and TKJ2 consisting 31 students as the experimental group, and Class X-TB1 and X-TB2 consisting 31 students as the control group. The data of the test were analyzed by using t-test formula to know the difference of the students’ achievement in writing narrative text. In the pre-test the mean of score of the experimental group 62,93 and the mean of post test of 79,54 and the control group is 61,23 and the post-test 51,06 the results of the t-test 6,10>2,000 Key Words : Clustering technique, Narrative text
