Lumen Veritatis adalah jurnal ilmiah bagi para spesialis filsafat, teologi dan ilmu-ilmu lain yang terkait dan bertujuan menyebarkan pandangan, pemikiran, analisis dan refleksi kritis bagi terciptanya budaya masyarakat yang menjunjung tinggi nilai-nilai kebenaran. Lumen Veritatis terbit dua kali setahun , pada bulan April dan Oktober.

<![CDATA[In this search, our focus is on the meaning and significance of Hauteas and the Church's response to it. From these two things we try to trace the encounter of the Catholic faith with Hauteas itself. The methodology used is a qualitative method with interview techniques and library analysis in the form of text analysis through critical reading that listens to the understanding and understanding of Hauteas and the Catholic Church's view on Culture. The author argues that we cannot take the extreme choice that the Hauteas be removed, or the Hauteas preserved. We only need to come to a critical reflection that, the meeting point between the teachings of the Church and the Hauteas is actually in the communal and ecological values behind the Hauteas. With Hauteas people can increase the fellowship and spirit of brotherhood. In addition, people can limit themselves to illegal logging. Hauteas keeps the cultural traces in it. This includes religious values that help us not to be greedy in treating nature. But on the other hand, we cannot also accept the practice of offerings in Hauteas which can harm others because of the evil intentions of the practice.]]>

<![CDATA[Menghormati hidup manusia dalam kondisi terminal atau di akhir kehidupan tidak terlepas dari kenyataan bahwa hidup manusia merupakan anugerah atau pemberian Allah semata-mata. Oleh karena itu, pada prinsipnya haruslah dimaknai bahwa sesungguhnya Allah menjadi norma akhir bagi hidup manusia. Norma akhir yang dimaksudkan dalam konteks ini adalah bahwa akhir kehidupan manusia merupakan keputusan Allah semata-mata. “Hidup manusia berasal dari Allah. Oleh karena itu, manusia tidak dapat memperlakukannya dengan sesuka hatinya. Hidup itu memiliki tujuan pada keilahian, yaitu bersatu dengan Allah dalam hidup kekal. Hidup itu amat suci dan keramat sebab Allah menciptakan manusia menurut citra-Nya (Kej 1: 26). Hal ini menjadi salah satu alasan mutlak untuk menghormati martabat manusia dalam situasi terminal.]]>

<![CDATA[Manusia adalah mahluk konfliktis yaitu mahluk yang selalu terlibat dalam perbedaan, pertentangan, dan persaingan baik secara sukarela maupun terpaksa. Hal tersebut tidak dapat dihindari karena merupakan aspek permanen dalam kehidupan sosial. Konflik pada tataran tertentu sangat diperlukan sebagai sarana perubahan manusia sebagai anggota masyarakat agar menjadi lebih baik. Pandangan kontemporer mengenai konflik didasarkan pada anggapan bahwa konflik sesuatu yang tidak dapat dielakkan sebagai konsekuensi logis interaksi manusia. Namun yang menjadi persoalan adalah bukan bagaimana meredam konflik, tapi bagaimana menanganinya secara tepat sehingga tidak merusak hubungan antarpribadi bahkan merusak lingkungan. Konflik bukan dijadikan suatu hal yang destruktif, melainkan harus dijadikan suatu hal konstruktif agar kehidupan masyarakat menjadi tertib.]]>

<![CDATA[The focus of this paper is on the forms of extremism in the social and educational spheres. The problems that often occur to color the Indonesian nation so far have always been related to the majority and minorities regarding their existence. Incidents of discrimination, isolating truths in certain groups also play a role and become a threat to the pluralistic existence of the Indonesian nation. This study uses a descriptive analytical method with a critical paradigm and literature study as a comparative reference. It aims to find and unravel the causes of forms of discrimination. Incidents of discrimination are strongly opposed because they are not in accordance with human nature as being related, also requires others. In the context of the life of the Indonesian people, the process of becoming a real human being is the main thing to know oneself, and to know others in the educational and social sphere. Generations of nations need to be breathed with teachings that will lead them to find true wisdom as humans who are capable of humanizing others. <![CDATA[This study focuses on William Chang's ecclesiological research: "Doing Theology of Peace in the Middle of Conflict". There are two objectives of this research. First, to investigate the roots and sources of conflicts that have occurred in West Kalimantan, and the second is to offer a peaceful theology method proposed by William Chang to readers in order to resolve and anticipate the emergence of similar conflicts. This research has its context in West Kalimantan. The reason why the author chose West Kalimantan as the object of research is firstly because West Kalimantan has experienced bloody and deadly conflicts that have resulted in a loss of peace there. In such a situation, the Church is called to proclaim and maintain the order of peaceful life as mandated by Christ. The method used in this research is qualitative research methods. Here priority is given to research related to the results of previous research on the conflicts in West Kalimantan. Furthermore, the writer presents what the Church teaches regarding how to respond to social problems. Departing from these two theses, the writer then conducts a critical analysis by comparing it with the theological methods offered by William Chang. After going through a series of analyzes, this research finds that William Chang's method provides a contextual theological offer for the people of West Kalimantan.]]>
