Abstract

Prevalensi penyakit hipertensi semakin meningkat.

Abstract

Intra Uterine Device (IUD) is a safe, effective, and reversible device made of plastic or metal which is inserted into the uterus through the cervical canal to prevent pregnancy. One of side effects of IUD is leucorrhoea or fluoralbus that is a whitish, intermittent and increased amount of discharge from vagina. Leucorrhoea is the most common complaint of women using IUD as it may cause uterus reactions to a strange object with excessive vaginal discharge characterized by increased amount of vaginal mucus, yellowish or gray, itchy, smelly, and causing inconvenience. A Moist condition and discharge in vagina among IUD acceptors is a good environment for pathogenic bacteria growth including Streptococcus sp and Escherichia coli. One of alternative treatments from herbal remedies is manjakani seeds (Quercus infectoria gall).  Empirically, manjakani seeds have been used to clean genital organs for prevention and treatment of vaginal discharge. The active subtances of the seeds are tannin, saponin, alkaloid, steroid, flavonoid, and trapezoid that are believed as an antibacterial effect. This study aimed to determine the effect of douching treatments using manjakani seeds (Quercus infectoria gall) boiled into water to the total colony of Streptococcus sp and Escherichia coli among IUD acceptors who experienced vaginal discharge. The research methods of the study utilized quasi experiments with one group pretestpostest design. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling with IUD acceptors suffering vaginal discharge in puskesmasSukajadi and ledeng, Bandung as the samples. The results showed based on statistical test, there was a significant difference between the number of colonies of Escherichia coli, streptococcus sp and complaints of leucorrea pre-test and posttest test of douching of boiled manjakani seeds with p value 0.05.

Abstract

ABSTRACTChildren with visual impairments increase dental and oral health problems higher than normal children, a debate that concerns blind children, namely the difficulty to carry out independent activities in maintaining oral health. One of the behavioral change strategies for blind children through dental and oral health education by teachers uses learning media that is appropriate to the characteristics of blind children. This study provides SLB teacher training to improve the ability to brush the teeth of blind children: Research and development (R D) includes five studies, namely: gathering information, design models, expert validation, and trial models. Samples are 15 blind children. Sampling using the proposive sampling. Data citing using intraclass correlation coefficient, paired and independent sample tests. The results showed that SLB teacher training was effective in increasing the ability to brush the teeth of a blind child. Abstract

Background: The risk of radiation doses for patients undergoing radiological examinations can have somatic and genetic effects. Somatic effects are effects that are directly felt by patients, while genetic effects arise due to damage to DNA molecules in the long run. Providing appropriate education is an effort to prevent the risk of radiation doses. If the education model is only verbal, the potential for misinformation is also very large. Submission of misinformation certainly has implications for the risk of repeat examinations and in turn provides even more radiation doses for patients. In response to this, the development of an android application based education model is very much needed.Method: This type of research is a Research and Development (RD) research. The research design is quasy experiment pre post test control group design with a total sample of 45 patients. Data collection tools using the e-3Ramed application, questionnaires and questionnaires. Univariate analysis produces frequency distributions of respondents' characteristics. Bivariate analysis produces the effect of educational interventions on increasing the knowledge and attitudes of radiology patients about the risk of radiation doses by the McNemar and Kruskal Wallis tests. Results: All educational models were effective in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of radiology patients about the risk of radiation doses with a p-value 0.05. But the most effective educational model and has the highest ranking value is a combination of oral and android with a mean rank of 29.07.Conclusion: An Android-based educational model has been developed, the e-3Ramed application which is effective in increasing the knowledge and attitudes of radiology patients about the risk of radiation doses.
