Abstract

This research is an experimental research which aims to determine the effectiveness of peer tutoring learning models with the use of LKS on student learning outcomes in solving the story problems in the material around and the area of the circle. The population in this study were all eighth grade students of SMP Negeri 1 Kota Ternate and samples that were randomly taken were class VIIIA students as an experimental class which amounted to 27 students and class VIIIB as a control class totaling 30 students. Data collection is done through tests of student learning outcomes with 5 items as instruments that have been validated by the validator. The analysis of the data used is 5-scale PAP, homogeneity test, normality test, the Mann-Whitney test and hypothesis test. The results of the calculation of the initial homogeneity test obtained F count = 1.29 less than Ftable = 1.90, then the two data are homogeneous. In the normality test the final test data is obtained χ2 count> tabel2 tables or 9.90> 7.82 for the experimental class and χ2 count> χ2 tables or 10.56> 7.82 for the control class, meaning that the two group data are not normally distributed, so used non parametric statistical tests. The non parametric test used is the Mann-Whitney test, from the calculation results obtained by Zhitung = -4.14 with Ztable = ± 1.96 at a significant level () = 0.05, Accept H0 if -Zt ≤ ZH ≤ + Zt and Reject H0 if ZH> Zt or ZH <-Zt. Because ZH <Zt (-4.14 <-1,96), then H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted, meaning that there are differences in student learning outcomes between the experimental class and the control class in class VII students of SMP Negeri 1 Ternate City. Thus, there are differences in learning outcomes in class VIII students of SMP Negeri 1 Kota Ternate who use peer tutoring learning models with the use of LKS and those who do not use the learning model. Based on the mean, level of mastery obtained by the experimental class and the control class, as well as student activities and responses to peer tutoring learning models with the use of LKS, it can be concluded that the application of peer tutoring learning models with the use of effective LKS to improve student learning outcomes material around and area of circle

Abstract

This study aims to describe the thinking process of students in solving mathematical problems of triangular and quadrilateral material in terms of cognitive style. The thinking process in this study is the steps taken by students involving mental activities in solving problems related to problem solving. The process of thinking in this study there are three kinds, namely conceptual thinking, semi-conceptual thinking and computational thinking. This research is a qualitative descriptive study. The subjects in this study were grade VII students consisting of four students with details of each two students from the Field Independent (FI) cognitive style and two students from the Field Dependent cognitive style (FD). Data collection techniques used in this study were mathematical tests and interviews. Data on the results of mathematical tests and interviews were analyzed based on indicators suitable with the conceptual thinking process, semi-conceptual thinking process and computational thinking process. From the results of data analysis, it was found that the students' thinking processes in solving mathematical story problems in the Field Independent group is the conceptual and semi-conceptual thinking processes. And students' thinking processes in solving mathematical story problems in the Field Dependent group tend to be semi-conceptual and computational thinking processes.

Abstract

contenxts. This study aims to describe the mathematical literacy of class X high school students in solving PISA questions. Date collection wa carried out using tests and interviews. 2 questions level 4dan level 6 are given to students. Date analysis is based on PISA mathematical process indicators namely formulating, applying, and interpreting. The results showed that: in the process of formulating, students mentioned important information in the problem, how to slove it and what concepts would be used, as well as what was know and asked in the problem. In the process of applying students to design and implement strategies according to the information they have made, draw the required objects according to the questions given. In the process of interpreting, students explain the reasons why the conclusions they get are in accordance with the context of the problem given.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the mathematical communication skills of prospective teacher students in solving mathematical problems Evaluated from Personality Types (artisan, idealist, guardian, dan rational). This research is a kind of qualitative exploratory research. The subjects used in this study were students of the 4th semester Mathematics Education consisting of 1 student for each type of artisan personality (SA), idealist personality (SI), guardian personality (SG), and rational personality (SR). The selection of research subjects is based on stratified sampling technique then purposive sampling. Data analysis techniques refer to the concept of Miles and Huberman which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The data validity technique uses the method triangulation and source triangulation. The results of the research show that: 1) SA meets three indicators namely being able to write information that is known and asked, draw pictures, and do calculations; 2) SI fulfills four indicators which are able to write information that is known and asked, draw pictures, do calculations, and apply mathematical symbols and rules in accordance with the intended problem; 3) SG fulfills three indicators namely being able to make drawings, do calculations, and write symbols and mathematical rules; 4) SR fulfills two indicators namely being able to write information that is known and asked, and doing calculations.

Abstract

This research aims to know the developing process of STAD type cooperative based on learning structure of mathematical subject; proportion meteri in the grade VII on SMPIT Assalam Ambon to achieve the valid, practical and effective learning instructional design. Learning instructional design which has been develop to student in the grade VII on SMPIT Assalam Ambon is learning Instructional devices planning, student task sheet, and student handbook. This research is a development research which used thiagrajan, semmel and semmel 4D model. The validation process of learning instructional design include competent validators on mathematics learning instructional design. Practical data analysis are achieve from observation result data of learning device and effectiveness data analysis of learning devices achieved from four sources which is 1) teacher ability of maintain the STAD type cooperative based learning. 2) students activities. 3) students responses. 4) learning results. The result of this research shows that learning devices of STAD type cooperative based learning which has been developed is valid, practical and effective

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the mathematical creative thinking ability of Grade VI students of SD Negeri 40 Ambon on flat material. This type of research is a descriptive study with a qualitative approach. The subjects in this study were fifth grade students of SD Negeri 40 Ambon in semester 2 of 2018/2019 academic year as many as five people. The subject taking technique is done by purposive sampling. Methods of data collection through tests of mathematical creative thinking and interviews. Data analysis techniques refer to the opinion of Miles and L-Luberman, namely the data reduction stage, the data presentation stage, and the conclusion drawing stage. The results showed that the five subjects representing each level of creative thinking ability had different characters in showing indicators of creative thinking ability
