Abstract

This study tries to explore the origins of online learning problems in art and culture subjects in junior high schools. Furthermore, from the exploration, it is continued by understanding the idiosyncrasy that occurs in online learning and the concept of heutagogy in arts and culture education at the junior high school level. The research method is mixed-method, prioritizing qualitative aspects that are assisted by questionnaires in data collection. Data were collected using an online questionnaire through the Google Form platform for junior high school students in Pasuruan, East Java. Afterward, the data were analyzed with analytical descriptive words to see the idiosyncrasy of art and culture education with heutagogy in this COVID-19 pandemic. The results showed that the heutagogical model is a model that is deemed necessary to be developed in the era of online learning going forward. When the COVID-19 pandemic took place, the use of IT technology had the power to tailor cultural arts education for each student in accordance with the development of his generation.

Abstract

The number of bullying cases experienced by students of SMPN 8 Kota Palangka Raya, has made all parties concerned. The guidance and counselling teacher is the party most concerned with this incident. To address this problem, guidance and counselling teachers apply crisis counselling in order to reduce or suppress the traumatic level felt by students who experience bullying. This study aims to determine the role of crisis counselling in reducing the level of trauma experienced by bullying victim students. The method used in this research is qualitative. This approach was chosen because it wanted to get clear answers based on the understanding of the researcher based on the understanding of the informants, in this case the school principal, counselling teachers, subject teachers, students who experienced bullying violence, and the perpetrators of bullying. The results of the data analysis concluded that crisis counselling was able to suppress trauma in students who were victims of bullying. This is because the competence of guidance and counselling teachers in implementing crisis counselling already has a lot of experience, and can act wisely, objectively, and in accordance with existing theories.

Abstract

One of the traditions of the Javanese people that still exists today and is ingrained and has become a routine for the Javanese every year is ‘sedekah bumi’. The systematic literature review (SLR) approach is used in this paper to examine five scientific articles on the local wisdom values ​​of the “sedekah bumi” tradition (Indigenous Counseling) practiced in Javanese culture. For Javanese people who work as farmers and fishermen, this tradition has become an annual ritual. ‘Sedekah bumi’ or ‘sedekah laut’ tradition is not only a routine that is carried out every year, but both traditions have deep meaning and are ingrained in Javanese society. Therefore, even now the Javanese people still carry out the tradition of “sedekah bumi”and ‘sedekah laut’ and make it their identity in their daily behavior. ‘Sedekah bumi’ tradition is carried out once a year in order to maintain harmonious relations between individuals and their ancestors or with nature and is a form of local wisdom in the form of ceremonies or traditions which are a manifestation of communication between humans and nature.

Abstract

Recently, a lot of students have participated in demonstrating against government policies. Even though, they do not know the detailed contents of the government policies they are about. In fact, in practicing democracy, it is not uncommon for them to violate the law by committing acts of anarchy, destroying public facilities, and other acts of fandalism. The purpose of this research is to describe qualitatively about the role of Citizenship Education in increasing legal awareness and awareness of democracy. The method used is descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted at SMAN 7 Kediri City. The research subjects were school principals, students, Civics teachers and Guidance and Counseling Teachers. Data were collected using participatory observation methods and in-depth interviews. Data relating to documents owned by the school were collected using the library documentation method. The data that has been collected is analyzed using methods of: 1) data collection, 2) data classification, 3) data filtering, and 4) drawing conclusions. To improve the accuracy and consistency of the data, triangulation methods in the form of snowballing were used, prolonged stay at the research location, and made temporary conclusions until data saturation was reached. The results showed that, Citizenship Education was able to increase legal awareness and was able to increase democratic awareness among students of SMAN 7 Kota Kediri.

Abstract

The purpose of this study describes: 1) the social role of the school committee in improving the quality of education, and 2) the form of instilling democratic values ​​in schools through cooperation of school and school committee. This research uses a descriptive study with a qualitative research approach. Data were collected using participatory observation techniques, in-depth interviews, and documentation. Data analysis using four steps of qualitative research includes data collection, data reduction, data classification, and drawing conclusions. Based on the process of data collection and analysis, it can be concluded that the school committee's social role is as a liaison between the school and the community in all matters. School committees can instill democratic values ​​in schools through sharing meetings since the formation of the board, program formulation, implementation, monitoring, and program evaluation all emphasize deliberation to reach consensus.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the impact of democracy Education on efforts to handle, prevent, and recover from post-economic, political, and social conflicts in East Java, precisely in Kediri Regency. The research method used is qualitative. The research technique used is joint research that is the normative-empirical study and social science to know how the implementation of the democracy education of the people of Kediri Regency. The findings revealed that the application of democracy education had an impact on the economic, political, and social conflict management of the people of Kediri Regency. Especially from the life of the town during the General Election period, Regional Head Election, and Village Head Election, which seemed more peaceful than in the Era of Political Dynasty. The economic and social life of the community is much better now, especially during the social distancing policy, the town can survive economically and get involved in handling Covid-19. Kediri regency shows that social tolerance is extreme. This research contributes to the future of the legal and policy bodies of the local government of the Kediri regency in handling economic, political, and social conflicts that exist in the community. In the end, the law and the democratic system can minimize intolerance and lawless behavior that can hamper economic development.

Abstract

This study is aimed to know the relation between parents’ activity level and students’ tendency to select peers on students’ morals. This study is quantitative in nature with multicorelation approach. Samples are the 63 fifth graders of MI Muhammadiyah Waru Baki Sukoharjo. Data were analyzed using uses a single and multicorelation analysis. Results show that the first hypothesis is proven that there is a negative relation between parents’ activity level with students’ moral, meaning that the higher parents’ outdoor activity, the lower students’ moral. The second hypothesis indicates that there is a positive relationship between students’ tendency to select peers and students’ morals, therefore the more selective the students select their peers, the better their morals. In addition, the third hypothesis defines that there is a relationship between parents’ activity level and students’ tendency to select peers simultaneously with morals. This finding proves that both students' parents activities and tendency to select peers simultaneously affect moral development.

Abstract

This study analyzes the influence of teachers' and parents' role model on students' honest behavior both partially and simultaneously. The study used a survey design with descriptive correlation to which the quantitative approach was applied. The sample of this study is 40 students of Senior Vocational School in Kalten, Central Java, Indonesia selected at random. Data were collected using questionnaires and were analyzed using multi-linear regression. Results show that teachers' role model has a positive significant influence on students' honest behavior. In addition, the parents role model has a positive significant influence on students' honest behavior, and simultaneously, teachers and parents role model has positive significant on students honesty behavior.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of competence on school management and principal performance on virtual leadership of Primary School principals. The independent variables of this study were competence in school management and principal performance. The dependent variable was virtual leadership. The study took place at Tanah Grogot City, Paser Regency East Kalimantan. The study used a multilinear design and a quantitative approach to analyze data. This study recruited 44 principals of Primary Schools in Tanah Grogot City as the participants. Data were collected using an online questionnaire that assessed competence in school management, principals' performance, and the degree of virtual leadership. Results show that competence in school management gives a significant effect on virtual leadership, but principal’s performance does not have a significant effect on virtual leadership. However, both competencies in school management and principal’s performance contribute a significant effect on the capacity of virtual leadership of the primary school principals in Tanah Grogot.
